Gadget: "show categories at the top of the page"
Hi there!
As an admin on Commons, I regularly do maintenance on the kind of categories files are in. As a CN admin on Meta, I also try to tidy up categories where I can, and sometimes this just means I want to check if a page is in a category at all.
On Commons there is a gadget to Place categories above all other content that I enjoy a lot when doing this kind of concierge work: as far as I can see, we don't have this one active here. Is that intentional, or has it simply never been requested? If the latter: here is my request, please show your support. Ciell (talk) 16:52, 1 September 2024 (UTC)

Enable the dark mode for Grants, Research and Iberocoop namespaces
- This section was archived on a request by: --Ebrahimtalk 12:47, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
Currently the three namespaces aren't getting dark mode and they are one of the very few places that Vector-2022's dark mode isn't enabled from software side per this, list of the pages on the namespaces:
- https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:AllPages?from=&to=&namespace=202
- https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:AllPages?from=&to=&namespace=206
The pages I saw on the namespaces had simply enough structure that automatic dark mode fixes applied everywhere else should fix their issues but some manual fixes from the template editors also might be needed so when I suggested to remove the exceptions I was asked to get community's feedback on whether you also want to enable the dark mode for these namespaces and as I hope we will get rid all of the namespace exceptions of the dark mode entirely someday so just visiting a page won't suddenly make the screen to have light color I wish the community also feels the same way about the change. Thanks --Ebrahimtalk 04:19, 13 September 2024 (UTC)
- User:DannyS712, User:MusikAnimal, User:Pppery, User:Steinsplitter: Per https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/operations/mediawiki-config/+/1072623/comments/65cd8e3e_f02769f7 I was asked to ask one of Meta's interface editors to confirm the change so do you agree with it? If we can have the dark mode enabled our only concern will be Wikidata which at least won't have community agreement issues (in addition to LiquidThread and Flow which are planned to be undeployed anyway) and full coverage dark mode namespace of Wikimedia will become a MediaWiki developers only concern. Previously I've been able to resolve issues regarding Commons's Creator: namespace, Portal: namespace of different Wikipedias and Wikisource's ProofreadPage namespaces and I'm hopeful additional namespaces of Meta can go the same path. Thanks --Ebrahimtalk 10:10, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
- Fine with me. I'm personally not a fan of Vector 2022 or Dark Mode but I'm willing to use my interface admin rights to resolve any problems if necessary. * Pppery * it has begun 14:46, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
- Sounds good to me! These are not high-traffic namespaces, anyway. I see little issue in enabling dark mode everywhere. I'm available to assist with any int-admin needs as well. Just ping me. Thanks, — MusikAnimal talk 20:22, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
- Pppery, MusikAnimal, it's merged now thanks to your support 🙏 --Ebrahimtalk 12:47, 30 September 2024 (UTC)

Universal Code of Conduct violations on the Meta page for the WMF board elections
Hi all
To the best of my understanding the correct way to report Universal Code of Conduct violations is on the noticeboard for the wiki. I would like to report several UCoC violations which happened on Meta here including people claiming I was 'trying to be offended', being 'outrageous' and that I was attempting 'voter intimidation' by highlighting what I think is pretty clear racism against a candidate in the WMF board elections process.
Thanks

- Sorry to send you around a bit, but RFH is probably the place for this. – Ajraddatz (talk) 13:29, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
- Ajraddatz now worries, thanks for your help, I actually already posted a help request there, glad to know I guessed the right place. John Cummings (talk) 15:44, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
