Hello everyone,
I asked to become a regular admin last week, but there was no consensus. I request regular adminship mainly, but not only, to help with CentralNotice. The reason why is because of my previous experience.
On March 11th, I did a request to get a geolocalised banner for the Contribution Month in Canada on RFH page, but it took a long time before getting an answer, and only couple hours before the event, MF-W saved us in extremis by creating the campaign. It is at this point that I realized that most administrators were not familiar with these requests. Furthermore, CentralNotice administrators are from the Foundation and they don't necessarily respond to requests on RFH. So this is why I'd like to become CentralNotice admin, and help community with their campaign requests.
I know how to use MW:Extension:CentralNotice (I installed few private MediaWikis in the past) and how to manage campaigns. I am also Sysop on Wikipedia-fr, Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata. Here is my SUL Info. I am a trustworthy person! :-)
Best regards. Benoit Rochon (talk) 15:19, 11 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Support; I hope he can improve the "management" of non-Foundation CentralNotices with this. --MF-W 00:52, 12 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- From personal experience, I know that very few admins are familiar with the more technical aspects of Meta (CentralNotice, www.*.org template, spam blacklist). We could definitely use someone with some understanding of CN. PiRSquared17 (talk) 03:07, 12 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- A bureaucrat should review this request now. Benoit is a very trusted user and he will not mess things up too much (if he did, he would probably fix it quickly). PiRSquared17 (talk) 16:07, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Successful, right granted. Sorry for the delay, I guess most crats don't really know how to handle the new right (which rules apply etc), me included. -Barras talk 13:49, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
