Redirects?
en.wikipedia has a speedy deletion criterium for "redirects to non-existent pages". I think this should be added in meta, if nobody opposes to it. en:Rjgodoy 21:09, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
- We already have it M2. Cbrown1023 talk 21:12, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
- Perhaps an independent criterium would be easier to identify. en:Rjgodoy 21:17, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
- A single criterion for redirects is more efficient. There isn't even any need to have "or broken", given that a broken redirect is obviously unneeded. —{admin} Pathoschild 06:05:26, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
en.wikipedia style span id
I have added targets to each criterium in WM:CSD. This way a criterium may be independently linked, for instance [[WM:CSD#G7|G7]] yields G7.
The complete list of targets is G1, G2, G3, G4, G5, G6, G7, A1, I1, I2, M1, M2, M3, M4.
I have also introduced A as a synonym for A1. Lowercase version are also supported (for instance, g7
instead of G7
). I have performed this modification without previous discussion because it is only of technical nature and does not affect WM:CSD content. en:Rjgodoy 21:16, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. I removed the redundant lowercase anchors. I've never seen anyone use a lowercase speedy deletion criteria acronym, so the extra anchors only clutter the code and make long-term maintenance more difficult. —{admin} Pathoschild 06:09:44, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
Note that Meta-Wiki does not
Note that Meta-Wiki does not back up deleted revisions, and they may be lost in the event of a serious server failure.
Shouldn't we remove that? as far as I know, everything is backed-up and if a serious server failure happened in meta its no different from any other wiki..or there is another meaning?--The Joke النكتة 02:51, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- According to Tim Starling, the text in the deleted archive is not backed up, so this statement is still true. However, it is replicated, so a single server going down wouldn't cause a problem. Angela 03:00, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- If that is case, then this line should be placed on other projects as well..what do you think?--The Joke النكتة 03:44, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- According to Kate (another root developer), they are backed up. I'm not sure who is right, although Tim Starling has more experience as a MediaWiki developer. —{admin} Pathoschild 03:50:34, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- Well, they may be backed up but as brion says..are subject to being cleared or removed at anytime..so perhaps it should be changed to that other than server-related stuff..--The Joke النكتة 06:32, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion general criterion #7
General criterion #7 should be clarified. It refers to "the Wikimedia Foundation", but it should also refers to Meta-Wiki, or more generally to the Wikimedia community (as suggested by Angela[1]), as pages directly unrelated to the Wikimedia Foundation but rather to the community (essays, humor...) are appropriate on Meta. Thoughts? Thanks in advance, Korg 01:24, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- I've changed it to "the Wikimedia Foundation or to the Wikimedia editing community'"; how is that? —{admin} Pathoschild 02:37:16, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- That looks fine to me. Thank you, Pathoschild. Korg 15:42, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
