I3 proposal
Since this just came up at WM:RFD, I propose we add a third Image speedy deletion criteria. Specifically, if an image exists on Commons (properly licensed and what have you, with proper attribution where applicable), it can be speedily deleted here. Pretty straightforward. - Yeah, we're getting too many image requests. Majorly (talk) 00:10, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion for images with unknown source
Orphaned images placed in Category:Images with unknown source for at least a week may be speedily deleted, but how to know how long they have been orphaned? That would require excessive time.--Jusjih 17:35, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
Administrators section
The whole section needs a rewrite. It's incredibly dated, and I can't believe it's still being used as policy. Majorly talk 20:24, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
- Points to review
- "Lack of respect for this deletion policy may result in an admin being listed on for desysop'ing."
- Does this still apply? Should it be removed? Korg 16:39, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- I think it should be removed. It's vague, could be said about any policy, and is redundant with the regular administrator confirmations. —{admin} Pathoschild 17:00:43, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- I have already removed this once. It should not be added again without consensus here. Majorly talk 17:04, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, it should not have been removed without consensus, since it was added with the community assent (and secondarily it remained on the policy page for several years without problems). Korg 18:12, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

- Yes, it could apply to any policy, but the deletion policy is one of the only policies that directly refers to administrators and their use of the tools (there is also Meta:Administrators, but there is no protection nor blocking policy for instance). Instead, it might be merged into Meta:Administrators#Policy for de-adminship.
- It is not really redundant with the regular confirmations, as it may be possible, in particular circumstances, to start a discussion without waiting the confirmation time. But I admit such cases would be extremely rare, so I understand it can be viewed as unnecessary. Even if it is not stated on a policy page, it would be considered as implicit anyway.
