Research project documented on Wikiversity

Greg Kohs, who is banned from meta, requested on Wikipedia review that a "meat puppet" place a Wikiversity research project on the attached project page as completed. Because there are standards for listing, the application of which would be beyond my capacity at this moment, I'm simply pointing to the Wikiversity project here. Someone else may wish to set this up on the Research/Projects page. It seems a reasonable request to me, and nothing unethical about the process has been seen. The editing of that page began while Greg was blocked on Wikiversity, through the global lock, but was done under supervision and was accepted by the Wikiversity community, and may have influenced the decision to allow him to edit there.

Added Research Project but do not see it added to the index

Hi All,

My name is Ken Holmes and I recently added my masters thesis (of which I am just starting) to the Research Area via the add project form. However the project does not come up in the associated Research Index. It is now not entirely clear to me whether or not it should automatically come up or is subject to review by RCom and then become posted. I did end up changing the name and removing some syntax that in my n00b understanding of wiki-markup made me question whether that was the problem, but it was not. Can someone fill me in on how this works? If it is the case that it is subject to RCom's approval to simply be in the list can I make the suggestion that this is made explicit in the add project form. Research tasks suitable for students

Hi,

My name is John Andersson and I am working as a Project Manager at Wikimedia Sverige. The last year we have deepened our cooperation with a number of universities in Sweden and we are about to start providing them with exciting research assignment for students (to work on for either 10 or 20 weeks).

I was wondering if there is a list of possible assignments compiled somewhere? We have already presented them with a number of research ideas, but especially technical assignments (in a suitable size) is a bit tricky for me. What I am looking for is smaller technical developments that they could do and investigate the effect from. I.e. not just Phabricator/Bugzilla bugs, but something a bit more comprehensive. Is there anything out there?

John Andersson (WMSE) The simplest models for introducing students to Wikipedia are listed at outreach:Education/Case_Studies. The person who I can think of who would be most likely to give insight to your interest is Sage (Wiki Ed). I have never heard of any class doing what I think you are describing. I don't have a list of research projects that others might pick up easily, but I do have a bunch of datasets that might be very interesting for a group of students to dig into. Connecting pages

Hi, for some reason the research about Awareness of Wikipedia and its usage patterns do not appear on the list of the research and in the hope page. Can someone help us with that? Thanks Michal Lester לסטר (talk) 12:45, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

I'm seeing it in both places. If you think one of those list needs an update, try appending "?action=purge" on the end of the URL. This will tell the caching servers to reload the content. --EpochFail (talk) 15:50, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

Research committee and ethics

Hello, In the introduction of the page, the research committee is linked two times, once for the proposed guidelines for ethical research, once as responsible people for reviewing proposals and requests. However, the page Research:Committee says, the committee is not existing anymore. Has there been a successor or a switch in organization? Topic missing (or excluded?)

Hello Researchers,

Some time ago, I added Research:Historyresearch_revisionslider to the index. However, I cant see it in the index, despite purging the cache.

• If this was some technical problem, I would be glad to hear how I can fix it.
• If the page was deliberately not listed since the project was minor and its form did not adhere to typical formats this is no problem either. In this case it would be great to discuss some alternative place or namespace to put similar, small design/problem oriented research results.
