Talk:Wikimedia Community User Group CEE Spring

A bit confused

edit

Dear all. Thankful for your activity as I may be, I am a bit confused. Does the CEE collaboration already not promote the joining of local forces to promote free knowledge etc. etc.? And if it does not then it should. To be honest I do not see the need to create a CEE Spring User Group to do something that the CEE group itself should do. I feel that the founding of a User Group to complement (or compete with?) the CEE should have been discussed at the CEE plenary session at the CEEM 2019. Is further splitting a good road to follow?--Jetam2 (talk) 21:05, 25 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Logo for the group

edit

Possible logo for Wikimedia Community User Group CEE Spring

@Papuass, Philip Kopetzky, Strainu, Magalia, Aegis Maelstrom, Wojciech Pędzich, Kiril Simeonovski, and Masti: Hello, I was looking for a logo for this group, and the one that I display here is the closest that I found when I looked on Commons. Please let me know if there are any objections to using this logo to represent the group, at least temporarily until a permanent logo is chosen. I regret the urgency, but I plan to publish "What's making you happy this week?" to Wikimedia-l within approximately 48 hours, and I would like to share a logo for the group in that email. Thanks, ↠Pine () 19:57, 15 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

I'm OK with it. masti <talk> 20:10, 15 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
It's fine for me too. --Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 20:12, 15 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yes, it is a good representation of group's purpose. --Papuass (talk) 21:38, 15 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thank you all. I added the logo to the main user group page at Wikimedia Community User Group CEE Spring. I finished a draft for this week's WMYHTW email that has numerous links in footnotes, so I'm planning to link to the pages of the user groups but not create separate links for the logos. However, the logos will appear in the upcoming issue of The Signpost's "On the bright side" adaptation of WMYHTW. Regards, ↠Pine () 23:23, 15 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Should we start a page on plans

edit

...considering we are going to make some decisions in Ohrid meeting in 2 weeks? Or UGs usually do not make public plans? IMHO public would be better. --Zblace (talk) 07:57, 2 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

... @Papuass and @Braveheart how about post-festum using the notes from Ohrid? --Zblace (talk) 09:13, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
We should, if we want to do anything before the next contest. The notes are available here. Papuass (talk) 13:33, 4 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

@DNdubane (WMF): Am I reading this correctly that in June 2024 you are already asking for the 2024 reporting? We submitted the 2023 report in March. If we're not eligible for the MC ratification that's fine too, but if we are we really need to know. BR, Philip Kopetzky (talk) 10:53, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Ratification of the movement charter - CEE Spring UG representative

edit

Hi! Just to formally write this in a public space, there is currently the demand from the WMF to select and document the representative of this user group who will vote in the ratification process of the Movement Charter. In case someone wants to take over this task you can sign up here and the other group members can then sign off on it here :-) BR, Philip Kopetzky (talk) 10:56, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
