My name is Lang Duong and I am currently a senior pursuing a Psychology (B.S.) at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. I am currently an undergraduate research assistant for Dr. Eva Telzer's Developmental Neuroscience Lab, which studies social effects on neurobiological development, and a volunteer research assistant for Dr. Samuel McLean's Heroes Health app-based study, which provides health institutions with a mobile application to monitor their workforce's mental well-being during COVID-19. As a Vietnamese college student of two immigrant parents, I am interested in studying Asian adolescent identity development - specifically, the developmental effects of the cultural and intergenerational gaps between Asian children and their parents.
In addition to my research interests, I hope to be a part of the growing movement dedicated to the democratization of psychological science. My Wikipedia editing is done through the Karen M. Gil Internship in collaboration with Helping Give Away Psychological Science (HGAPS), a 501(c)3 founded by Dr. Eric Youngstrom and dedicated to providing/editing free psychological resources on Wikipedia for students, researchers, educators, clinicians, etc.
