editWelcome to Meta!
editHello Klaas, and welcome to the Wikimedia Meta-Wiki! This website is for coordinating and discussing all Wikimedia projects. You may find it useful to read our policy page. If you are interested in doing translations, visit Meta:Babylon. You can also leave a note on Meta:Babel or Wikimedia Forum (please read the instructions at the top of the page before posting there). Happy editing!
Our projects 2008022113.3
editHoi! Thanks for your translation, Patio. I am afraid however you have been worked on an outdated version dated May 2007 or so. For getting the latest version with January 2008 stats, please give a look to Translation requests/WMF/Our projects/source. Again, thanks so much!! --Aphaia 13:18, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
re: Translation/Translation requests/WMF/Our projects (nl) 20080408
editHi Pathoschild,
(Copy from Aphaia's Talk Page)
I made a beta version in Dutch and added an extra category to mark it as translated.
I guess a better way is to use another template so it comes in the category for proofread/correction or whatever.
Can you explain me how, please? Templates are one of my weakest points unfortunately, I'm happy that I can read them ;-).
Greetings and thanks in advance, your would-be translator Patio 13:21, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Patio,
- You can change the status at the template put on the top of Translation requests/WMF/Our projects/nl, now there Dutch version is indicated as "nl /Nederlands (needs updating)". Since the current "beta" version seems not to be updated yet, it would be better for us not to call it "translated" or "proofreading", since it needs more update & translation in my opinion.
- If you would like to merge your user subpage version and the current one, please let me or any other meta admins know that.
- If you have further questions about this "status" template, ask User:Pathoschild for information (He created it so has the best knowledge). Cheers,--Aphaia 13:50, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
(end Copy)
Updated en removed extra Category as per Aphaia's request. How to change status to 'proofread' or something when applicable?
Thanks in advance for an answer Patio 10:58, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hello Patio. Sorry for the delay in responding. You can do it by editing Template:Translation/Translation requests/WMF/Our projects. In the edit box, there is this line: "
|nl |needs updating
". Simply change "needs updating" to "done" (or one of the other statuses listed at the top of the edit box). —{admin} Pathoschild 19:13:38, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
Thank you. I used "Proofreading". Some feedback of colleagues is always handy. Patio 09:08, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
Request 2010052516.2
editHi! I noticed you're listed at Category:Translators eng-nld. Would you mind proofreading the Dutch version of Soft redirect (located here)? I basically just copied the page from nlwiki, but I would appreciate if a fluent speaker verified if what I added makes any sense at all :) Regards, Jafeluv 16:10, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

editFundraising translation feedback 2013040118.8
editHey Patio,
I wanted to ask for your help. As you may be aware we have been running banners on many language wikis. We have a lot of new content this year and I really want to conduct a thorough review of our translations. This is a combination of feedback from the community, readers, donors as well as those with professional translator experience. This will help us ensure the highest quality of translations used in our messaging.
To help us out with this I wonder if you would be willing to give us feedback for Dutch using This Link
Simply follow the simple instructions on that page and if you have any questions feel free to contact me on my talk page.
Many Thanks

Superprotect letter update 2015082618.7
editHi Patio,
Along with more hundreds of others, you recently signed Letter to Wikimedia Foundation: Superprotect and Media Viewer, which I wrote.
Today, we have 562 signatures here on Meta, and another 61 on change.org, for a total of 623 signatures. Volunteers have fully translated it into 16 languages, and begun other translations. This far exceeds my most optimistic hopes about how many might sign the letter -- I would have been pleased to gain 200 siguatures -- but new signatures continue to come.
I believe this is a significant moment for Wikimedia and Wikipedia. Very rarely have I seen large numbers of people from multiple language and project communities speak with a unified voice. As I understand it, we are unified in a desire for the Wikimedia Foundation to respect -- in actions, in addition to words -- the will of the community who has built the Wikimedia projects for the benefit of all humanity. I strongly believe it is possible to innovate and improve our software tools, together with the Wikimedia Foundation. But substantial changes are necessary in order for us to work together smoothly and productively. I believe this letter identifies important actions that will strongly support those changes.
Have you been discussing these issues in your local community? If so, I think we would all appreciate an update (on the letter's talk page) about how those discussions have gone, and what people are saying. If not, please be bold and start a discussoin on your Village Pump, or in any other venue your project uses -- and then leave a summary of what kind of response you get on the letter's talk page.
Finally, what do you think is the right time, and the right way, to deliver this letter? We could set a date, or establish a threshold of signatures. I have some ideas, but am open to suggestions.
Thank you for your engagement on this issue, and please stay in touch. -Pete F (talk) 18:39, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed 2015031804.1
editHello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Patio. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Patio~metawiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell

Geslacht 2015050908.9
editHoi KlaasZ4usV, goed punt. Mvg, Taketa (talk) 07:51, 9 May 2015 (UTC)
Your user page on it.wikt 2015102711.9
editHallo KlaasZ4usV,
I've read your request at italian Wiktionary Bar. If you want you can locally ask the deletion of your user page simply adding the template {{Cancella|"reason"}} at the top of your page. However, if you need to delete your user page on many projects you can read this page. A bot will delete your UP and your Meta User page will be shown. --Nastoshka (talk) 20:16, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
Your strange edit 2016051808.1
editI don't know who is globally blocked (at least not you, and not JurgenNL), and why do you edit his user page here? If you have some comments leave them to his user talk page. I don't think that he wants that your comment is now shown on his user page on the Dutch Wikipedia (nl:User:JurgenNL). --Stryn (talk) 06:55, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

P.S. I wonder how you know what other people want…- Oh, yeah, it was Kukkie, who wrote the message, not you, sorry. Well, it may vary of the project how people handle this kind of things. 2016 Community Wishlist Survey 2016111411.3
editHi,
You’re getting this message because you participated in the 2015 Community Wishlist Survey and we want to make sure you don't miss it this year – or at least can make the conscious choice to ignore if it you want to. The 2015 survey decided what the Community Tech team should work on during 2016. It was also the focus of Wikimedia hackathons and work by other developers. You can see the status of wishes from the 2015 wishlist at 2015 Community Wishlist Survey/Results.
The 2016 Community Wishlist Survey is now open for wishes. You can create proposals until November 20. You will be able to vote on which wishes you think are best or most important between November 28 and December 12. /Johan (WMF) (talk) via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 11:17, 14 November 2016 (UTC)
Adjusted text 2017092620.2
editThere has been a request to inform all who voted in the RfC about interlinking accounts involved with paid editing about the following adjustment in the "statement of issue" on Sept 18th, 2017.
It was clarified that this effort will help deal not only with impersonation of specific Wikipedians but also claims of being in good standing made by those who are not.[1] Thanks. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 19:59, 26 September 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you, Doc James. Makes my support even stronger than it already was. Template Wizard script available for testing 2018032822.7
editHello. I'm contacting you because you voted for the Infobox Wizard in the 2017 Community Wishlist Survey.
The Infobox Wizard has gotten an upgrade - it's now a Template Wizard which works for infoboxes and all other templates. The feature is being developed as an extension (which will allow for localization) but there is a prototype user script which works well.
The Wishlist Team would love it if you could take a few minutes to try the Template Wizard prototype script out and give us feedback on whether it lives up to your expectations. This feedback will help build the script into an extension. To get started, add the following to your Special:MyPage/common.js -
mw.loader.load( 'https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Samwilson/TemplateWizard.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript' );
The Template Wizard will show up as a puzzle-piece icon in the 2010 WikiEditor. You can click on the icon to insert a template. Your thoughts are needed on whether it makes sense for the wizard to be available for all users by default or if there should be a preference for it. If it's a preference, what should the default be? Please leave your feedback here. Thank you! -- Keegan (WMF) (talk) 22:42, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
Klaas `Z4␟` V: 09:30, 7 September 2018 (UTC)

Captions in January 2019010720.7
editStructured Data - file captions coming this week (January 2019) 2019010721.2
editMy apologies if this is a duplicate message for you, it is being sent to multiple lists which you may be signed up for.
Hi all, following up on last month's announcement...
Multilingual file captions will be released this week, on either Wednesday, 9 January or Thursday, 10 January 2019. Captions are a feature to add short, translatable descriptions to files. Here's some links you might want to look follow before the release, if you haven't already:
- Read over the help page for using captions - I wrote the page on mediawiki.org because captions are available for any MediaWiki user, feel free to host/modify a copy of the page here on Commons.
- Test out using captions on Beta Commons.
- Leave feedback about the test on the captions test talk page, if you have anything you'd like to say prior to release.
Additionally, there will be an IRC office hour on Thursday, 10 January with the Structured Data team to talk about file captions, as well as anything else the community may be interested in. Date/time conversion, as well as a link to join, are on Meta.
Thanks for your time, I look forward to seeing those who can make it to the IRC office hour on Thursday. -- Keegan (WMF) (talk) 21:09, 7 January 2019 (UTC)"Who Wrote That" project update 2019022122.9

User script to access other watchlists 2019060605.8
editHi KlaasZ4usV,
If you remember, you participated in the 2019 Community Wishlist Survey, including the discussion for reviving "Crosswatch" to allow for cross-wiki watchlists (Community Wishlist Survey 2019/Watchlists/Revive Crosswatch tool).
I sent you this MassMessage because I wanted to let you know that I have made a user script to make accessing your watchlists on different wikis easier, since for now that wishlist item has not been actioned.
The way it works is that, on any wiki, when you look at your watchlist, there is a button labeled "CA" that takes you to the CentralAuth page for you. There, when looking at your own information, each link to a wiki ("meta.wikimedia.org", "www.wikidata.org", "de.wikipedia.org", etc.) is changed so that it links to your watchlist on that wiki.
If you are interested in using it, just add mw.loader.load('//meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:DannyS712/Watchlist.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript');
to your global javascript page. This imports the code at m:User:DannyS712/Watchlist.js.
If you want to learn more, there is documentation for the script available at w:en:User:DannyS712/Watchlist. If you would like to discuss the script, talk to me at m:User talk:DannyS712.
Thanks, --05:50, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
Structured Data - blogs posted in Wikimedia Space 2019092321.6
editThere are two separate blog entries for Structured Data on Commons posted to Wikimedia Space that are of interest:
- Working with Structured Data on Commons: A Status Report, by Lucas Werkmeister, discusses some ways that editors can work with structured data. Topics include tools that have been written or modified for structured data, in addition to future plans for tools and querying services.
- Structured Data on Commons - A Blog Series, written by me, is a five-part posting that covers the basics of the software and features that were built to make structured data happen. The series is meant to be friendly to those who may have some knowledge of Commons, but may not know much about the structured data project.
Global watchlist - Update 1 - 2019100516.1
editUpdates associated with DannyS712's Global watchlist script:
- General announcements
- Management has migrated to phabricator; to report a bug or request a feature, please create a new task with the script's tag
- Message translation has been reduced; for common messages that are already translated in mediawiki core, the system translations are used, in order to reduce duplication of efforts
- Recent additions
- New pages are shown at the start of a site's feed
- Log entries are shown at the end of a site's feed
- Basic validation has been added to user settings, applied before saving
- Site validation has also been added; a site (excluding unique projects like wikidata, meta, commons, etc.) is considered to be valid if it is the form of "language.project", where both the language code and project name are valid. It does not, however, check that the actual site is valid; only that it could be. In other words, even though
sco.wiktionary
refers to a site that doesn't exist, it is considered valid, becausesco
is a valid language code (sco.wikipedia
is a working site) andwiktionary
is a valid project.
- Announcements
- BREAKING CHANGE: Backwards compatibility supporting the use of sites as
*.*.org
(like 'en.wikipedia.org' or 'meta.wikimedia.org'), deprecated in version 1.7.5, will be removed soon; all sites should now be saved as*.*
(like 'de.wikinews' or 'fr.wikisource') - BREAKING CHANGE: Storing user sites as
window.GlobalWatchlistSites
, deprecated in version version 1.11.11, will be removed soon; all settings should be stored in thewindow.GlobalWatchlistConfig
object - Both of these breaking changes will be implemented alongside version 4.0; until then, any use of the config page (m:Special:BlankPage/GlobalWatchlistConfig) will result in saving settings in the newest format
- Next release
Version 4.0 should be released in around a week. It will include the new features mentioned above, as well as removal of backwards compatibility for settings and sites.
I've sent this first message to users that participated in the discussion at m:Community Wishlist Survey 2019/Watchlists/Revive Crosswatch tool or otherwise shown interest in the script. To subscribe or unsubscribe from future updates, see the distribution list.

Global watchlist - Update 2 - 2019110822.7
editUpdates associated with DannyS712's Global watchlist script:
- General notes
- To report a bug or request a feature, please create a new task on Phabricator with the script's tag
- Recent additions
- Site validation has been tightened. Previously, only the language code and project name had to be valid - now, they must be a valid combination (i.e.
en.wikiversity
exists, and so is valid, butsco.wikiversity
is not valid, because no such wiki exists). - When the global watchlist feed is loading, an OOUI widget will be shown, rather than an animated gif.
- An option has been added to no longer group edits to the same page. For now, this isn't very useful, since metadata for the edits (editor, summary, tags, etc.) are not yet shown, but they will be soon. Until then, ungrouped edits are treated the same as pages with only 1 edit - the minor and bot flags are displayed if applicable. If edits are grouped, the minor and bot flags are only shown if they apply to all of the edits.
- Upcoming changes
- Starting with version 5.0, there will be an option at the settings page to switch to and from a "stable" version of the script. When activated, the script import in your global.js should be replaced, and then the page refreshed with the new script loaded. The stable script will live at User:DannyS712/Global watchlist/stable.js, and will be updated with each full release. Otherwise, it shouldn't be edited, providing a version that is less prone to bugs as the script is developed.
- Announcements
- WARNING: Starting with version 5.1, the option to mark the pages of a site as seen be implemented using the
entirewatchlist
API option, rather than manually listing the titles. This is being done to simplify the implementation code. This will result in the same functionality as marking all pages as seen via Special:Watchlist (i.e. even if the page isn't visible due to your filter choices, it will still be marked as seen). If you would like to keep using the current method for a while, please switch to the stable branch.
- Next release
Version 5.0 has just gone live. It includes the new features mentioned above.

Global watchlist - Update 3 - 2019112221.1
editUpdates associated with DannyS712's Global watchlist script:
- Survey
- I am investigating adding more context to each entry that is shown (such as the edit summaries, tags, patrol marks, the user who made the edit, etc.). Is there any desire for such additions? If so, what should be added first, and what is a low priority? Please leave feedback on the relevant phabricator task, phab:T238300.
- Recent additions
- Site validation has been overhauled. Rather than hard-coding a list of valid sites, users will be able to watch any site where they have an attached local user account. If a site is rejected as invalid, please ensure that there is indeed a local account attached to your global account.
- Users will now be alerted regarding the results of attempting to update their settings.
- Live updates have been added - when activated, the script will refresh in the background, and then load the new feed, every 7.5 seconds. In the future, this frequency may be configurable.
- OOUI icons have been added to most buttons.
- There is now an option to eliminate the confirmation dialog when marking all sites as seen.
- Announcements
- WARNING: Starting with version 6.1, site aliases currently used when saving settings will be removed, and only sites in the form of `lang.project` will be accepted.
- As noted in the last update, marking a site as seen now uses
entirewatchlist
, which means that any changes to watched pages between when the watchlist was loaded and when the site was "marked as seen" may be ignored.
- Next release
Version 6.0 was just finalized for the development and stable branches of the script.

Global watchlist - Update 4 - 2019121504.6
editUpdates associated with DannyS712's Global watchlist script:
- Recent additions
- A new "fast" mode has been introduced. When used, the watchlist serves as just a list of pages that have been modified, and no longer includes context about the edits themselves.
- More information has been added to entries. When edits are not grouped by page, or when there is only 1 edit to a page, minor and bot flags are shown, as well as the user who made the edit, the summary used, and any tags that were applied. When multiple entries are grouped, bot and minor flags are only shown if all of the grouped edits were made by bots or where marked as minor. If only 1 user edited the page, that user's name is still shown, but no summaries or tags are included.
- All watchlists are now fetched in parallel, rather than in series, greatly reducing load time.
- Technical notes
- Most of the source code is now annotated with jsdoc notes, allowing others to more clearly understand and review the code.
- I will be looking into creating guidelines to let others contribute to the script; see phab:T238298.
- Translations
- There is now proper qqq documentation for translations. Translation takes place at m:User:DannyS712/Global watchlist/Translate, and help is appreciated.
- Newly translated messages are added to the script when I notice them; if you have translated messages that aren't showing up, please let me know at m:User talk:DannyS712.
- Next release
Version 7.0 was just finalized for the development and stable branches of the script.

Global watchlist - Update 5 - 2020012918.4
editUpdates associated with DannyS712's Global watchlist script:
- Future development
- I have requested a grant to fund conversion of this script into an extension, as well as further development. Please see m:Grants:Project/Create a global watchlist extension.
- If anyone is interested in reviewing the code and making suggestions regarding coding style, techniques, or something else, please let me know. See phab:T234507 for more.
- Recent additions
- I have added basic tests for the script, so bugs should be less likely to make their way to the deployed versions of the script (both the unstable development version, and the stable release version).
- If there is an error with the script, the user will be notified and and the console will include a stack trace of the issue.
- Translations
- Many thanks to those that have contributed translations for the script's messages. Translation takes place at m:User:DannyS712/Global watchlist/Translate, and help is appreciated.
- Newly translated messages are added to the script when I notice them; if you have translated messages that aren't showing up, please let me know at m:User talk:DannyS712.
- Next release
- Version 8.0 was just finalized for the development and stable branches of the script.

- If anyone is interested in reviewing the code and making suggestions regarding coding style, techniques, or something else, please let me know. See phab:T234507 for more.
- Recent additions
- The results for each site, as well as the list of sites without changes, can be collapsed; the list of sites without changes starts collapsed.
- When the username associated with an edit has been hidden (either via revision deletion or suppression) this is now properly shown in the output, rather than showing "undefined".
- Links to view changes open in new tabs.
- When marking a site (or all sites) as seen, only changes made prior to the watchlist loading will be marked as seen, so that any changes since then are not missed.
- There is now a help link in the upper right hand corner that links to m:User:DannyS712/Global watchlist, though it doesn't have the normal help icon.
- Translations
- Many thanks to those that have contributed translations for the script's messages. Translation takes place at m:User:DannyS712/Global watchlist/Translate, and help is appreciated.

Community Wishlist Survey 2021: Invitation 2020112018.4
editThe 2021 Community Wishlist Survey is now open! This survey is the process where communities decide what the Community Tech team should work on over the next year. We encourage everyone to submit proposals until the deadline on 30 November, or comment on other proposals to help make them better. The communities will vote on the proposals between 8 December and 21 December.
The Community Tech team is focused on tools for experienced Wikimedia editors. You can write proposals in any language, and we will translate them for you. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing your proposals!

Community Wishlist Survey 2021 - 2020121116.1
editWe invite all registered users to vote on the 2021 Community Wishlist Survey. You can vote from now until 21 December for as many different wishes as you want.
In the Survey, wishes for new and improved tools for experienced editors are collected. After the voting, we will do our best to grant your wishes. We will start with the most popular ones.
We, the Community Tech, are one of the Wikimedia Foundation teams. We create and improve editing and wiki moderation tools. What we work on is decided based on results of the Community Wishlist Survey. Once a year, you can submit wishes. After two weeks, you can vote on the ones that you're most interested in. Next, we choose wishes from the survey to work on. Some of the wishes may be granted by volunteer developers or other teams.
We are waiting for your votes. Thank you!

Global watchlist - Update 8 - 20210217.7
editUpdates associated with DannyS712's Global watchlist script and the Global watchlist extension:
As I noted in the last issue, I received a grant from the WMF to develop the global watchlist script into an extension. That extension has now been deployed on Meta. Visit m:Special:GlobalWatchlistSettings to get started.
I do not plan on any further developments being made to the user script. I have released version 9.1.0 to both the dev and stable versions, which includes a notification about the extension being available when you use the user script. You can dismiss the notification, and the script still works, but it will no longer be maintained.
Those interested in providing feedback for the extension should use the phabricator board, phabricator:tag/mediawiki-extensions-globalwatchlist. Any bug reports about the extension should be filed there.
This will likely be the last update sent to this list.

Global watchlist - Update 9 - 2021041800.5
editUpdates associated with DannyS712's Global watchlist script and the Global watchlist extension:
Hi everyone. As I noted in the last issue, I received a grant last year from the WMF to develop the global watchlist script into an extension. That extension has now been deployed on Meta. Visit m:Special:GlobalWatchlistSettings to get started.
That grant has ended, and I have requested another grant to continue development of the extension, and figured subscribers of the newsletter about the user script might be interested. You can see and comment on the grant request at m:Grants:Project/DannyS712/Continued work on GlobalWatchlist extension - if you support this, I hope you'll consider endorsing the request.

Discussie over plannenmakerij 2012101907.5
Kind regards, Klaas V 08:13, 21 October 2012 (UTC)

editHi, is it an appropriate thing to say when GAC members are probably better respected for reviewing in terms of the WMF's priorities, without fear or favour to one group or another? Tony (talk) 13:55, 8 December 2013 (UTC)
- I don't mean GAC members, but all "normal" editors wherever they are hailing or coming from, were born, what their religion, nationality or whatever is. Sorry for the confusion my statement may have brought to you and/or others. Should I rephrase it or can you as a native speaker of English do it better? Probably! Thanks anyways. Bottomline: I'm still angry at NSA and their employers. European politicians however are far from "saints" as well, some of them are worse than Barack Obama c.s., believe you me... Kind regards, Klaas|Z4␟V: 14:16, 8 December 2013 (UTC)
- There are liars. damned liars, and politicians
- You're right, Tony. Deleted the political part. I find the amount too high though. Klaas|Z4␟V: 21:53, 8 December 2013 (UTC)
- Nice. Yes, the too high is hard to judge without sufficient details. In my view, the onus should be on applicants to provide these details, not for us to have to extract them bit by bit through a labour-intensive process on the talk page. I'm working on some more explanatory guidelines for such details for the staff and the GAC to consider. Tony (talk) 04:19, 9 December 2013 (UTC)

Letter petitioning WMF to reverse recent decitions 2014082022.6
editThe Wikimedia Foundation recently created a new feature, "superprotect" status. The purpose is to prevent pages from being edited by elected administrators -- but permitting WMF staff to edit them. It has been put to use in only one case: to protect the deployment of the Media Viewer software on German Wikipedia, in defiance of a clear decision of that community to disable the feature by default, unless users decide to enable it.
If you oppose these actions, please add your name to this letter. If you know non-Wikimedians who support our vision for the free sharing of knowledge, and would like to add their names to the list, please ask them to sign an identical version of the letter on change.org.
I'm notifying you because you participated in one of several relevant discussions. -Pete F (talk) 22:25, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

Inspire Campaign on content curation & review 2016022905.6
editI've recently launched an Inspire Campaign to encourage new ideas focusing on content review and curation in Wikimedia projects. Wikimedia volunteers collaboratively manage vast repositories of knowledge, and we’re looking for your ideas about how to manage that knowledge to make it more meaningful and accessible. We invite you to participate and submit ideas, so please get involved today! The campaign runs until March 28th.
All proposals are welcome - research projects, technical solutions, community organizing and outreach initiatives, or something completely new! Funding is available from the Wikimedia Foundation for projects that need financial support. Constructive feedback on ideas is welcome - your skills and experience can help bring someone else’s project to life. Join us at the Inspire Campaign to improve review and curation tasks so that we can make our content more meaningful and accessible! I JethroBT (WMF) 05:38, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Through June, we’re organizing an Inspire Campaign to encourage and support new ideas focusing on addressing harassment toward Wikimedia contributors. The 2015 Harassment Survey has shown evidence that harassment in various forms - name calling, threats, discrimination, stalking, and impersonation, among others - is pervasive. Available methods and systems to deal with harassment are also considered to be ineffective. These behaviors are clearly harmful, and in addition, many individuals who experience or witness harassment participate less in Wikimedia projects or stop contributing entirely.
Proposals in any language are welcome during the campaign - research projects, technical solutions, community organizing and outreach initiatives, or something completely new! Funding is available from the Wikimedia Foundation for projects that need financial support. Constructive feedback on ideas is appreciated, and collaboration is encouraged - your skills and experience may help bring someone else’s project to life. Join us at the Inspire Campaign so that we can work together to develop ideas around this important and difficult issue. With thanks,
I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 17:46, 31 May 2016 (UTC) (Opt-out instructions)

editGroningse Wikipedia and Wiktionary 201803020510
editMoi Kloas,
Can you read and write Gronings? As I saw that you were interested in contributing to Groninger Wikipedia articles, so why not join the Low-Saxon Wikipedia or the Low-Saxon Wiktionary? I am planning on joining after I’ve imported a few books to the English Wikisource and Gronings is quite an interesting language to write. Though I speak Gronings my largest issue is with the divergent and non-standard forms of spelling, if you speak Cityspeak (Stads) or Westwoods (Westerwolders) you could probably align your spelling more with that of other Low-Saxon dialects, but there’s this handy guide for writing Gronings as we all can speak it, but people very rarely write it. Just check those Wikimedia projects out if you’re interested, is there a Groninger version of OmegaWiki?
Did you know that the Low-Saxon version of Wikipedia has their own flag? (in Gronings) --Donald Trung (Talk 🤳🏻) (My global lock 🔒) (My global unlock 🔓) 15:17, 18 December 2017 (UTC)
- At OmegaWiki we support Low Saxon, Donald. Sorry for my late answer, I rarely visit this talkPage.
