Hello. My name is Sabri. I am a researcher focusing on nutritional epidemiology in low- and middle-income countries, with emphasis on development, training, administration, and analysis of methods for assessing diet and diet quality.
An overarching goal of this research is to produce economical and easy-to-use tools and metrics that can be implemented in national and global nutrition surveillance platforms, including national health and household consumption surveys, for the purpose of dietary surveillance, tracking population diet quality over time, comparing diet quality across populations, and evaluating national nutrition policies.
I am currently a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Nutrition at Harvard School of Public Health, where I serve as project director for a 2-year study supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to develop and validate novel food-based diet quality metrics using cross-sectional and cohort data from different African countries, China, India, Mexico, and the U.S. I am also involved in other ongoing studies in Asia and Africa.
I received a BS in chemistry from New York University in 2011, MPH in international health from the University of Michigan in 2013, and Doctor of Science in nutrition from Harvard University in 2018.
