Sofiblum
I hold a PhD in Social Sciences and have knowledge in Israeli society, social research, the labor market, and current affairs. I joined Hebrew Wikipedia as an editor in December 2021. Since then, I have made over 6,500 edits in the articles space, mainly (but not exclusively) in my areas of knowledge.
In June 2024, I was surprisingly blocked from all Hebrew Wikipedia pages (except for my talk page) and required to take mandatory mentoring, with the argument that I am 'insisting on continuing to write about current affairs, and introducing content that is not encyclopedic and whose importance is questionable". The blocking and requirement for mandatory mentoring took place despite there being no rule in Hebrew Wikipedia that prohibits editing current affairs topics, despite the fact that most of my edits were positively received by the community (here is a "gold medal" I received from Wikimedia Israel), and in cases where they weren't, I opened and managed respectful discussions on the talk page as is customary in Hebrew Wikipedia and accepted the community's decisions. This was also despite the fact that current affairs edits continue to be made in the project all the time, both before and after my blocking, some based on unreliable sources and some about events that haven't happened yet (!), but the editors who make these edits receive no sanctions.
