Wikimedia News item

Where did you get this information? I don't see how the 25% figure was calculated. I'm not as familiar with Wikisource as some other projects, so I guess I'm just not looking in the right place. Could you provide a link on the words "scan-backed text units" (or just "scan-backed") to provide a source for the info? TIA. - dcljr (talk) 02:44, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

I've amended the item, I hope it makes more sense now. Just to explain further: Wikisource was originally filled by users copying and pasting text from, for example, Project Gutenberg. From 2009, however, Wikisource has had an online side-by-side proofreading system with page scans. An aspiration for some users is for all texts to be backed by scans eventually, and we are apparently one quarter of the way to that goal.
