Future IdeaLab Campaigns results
Last December, I invited you to help determine future ideaLab campaigns by submitting and voting on different possible topics. I'm happy to announce the results of your participation, and encourage you to review them and our next steps for implementing those campaigns this year. Thank you to everyone who volunteered time to participate and submit ideas.
With great thanks,
I JethroBT (WMF), Community Resources, Wikimedia Foundation. 23:55, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for your translation help!

Inspire Campaign on content curation & review
I've recently launched an Inspire Campaign to encourage new ideas focusing on content review and curation in Wikimedia projects. Wikimedia volunteers collaboratively manage vast repositories of knowledge, and we’re looking for your ideas about how to manage that knowledge to make it more meaningful and accessible. We invite you to participate and submit ideas, so please get involved today! The campaign runs until March 28th.
All proposals are welcome - research projects, technical solutions, community organizing and outreach initiatives, or something completely new! Funding is available from the Wikimedia Foundation for projects that need financial support. Constructive feedback on ideas is welcome - your skills and experience can help bring someone else’s project to life. Join us at the Inspire Campaign to improve review and curation tasks so that we can make our content more meaningful and accessible! I JethroBT (WMF) 05:38, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Should FuzzyBot remove all potentially outdated translations?
Hello, thanks for adding multiple new translations in your language here at Meta-Wiki in recent years. Please join the discussion with your opinion: Should FuzzyBot automatically remove all potentially outdated translations?. Nemo (talk) 12:00, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
Hello there! Please, do assume good faith :) You have not posted your answers to some questions, like:
- Affiliate-selected Board seats/2016/Questions#What is the crisis?
- Affiliate-selected Board seats/2016/Questions#BoT Role in new ED appointment
- Affiliate-selected Board seats/2016/Questions#Openness of board proceedings
- Affiliate-selected Board seats/2016/Questions#Making the WMF a membership organisation
- Affiliate-selected Board seats/2016/Questions#Should there be an independent review / analysis of the recent crises?
The voting starts today, so it is better to have everything done as soon as possible. I do want to hear your opinion on the questions you have missed, and I am going to ask this from every candidate, as it is important to understand how a future Trustee (and technically any of us can be elected) treats this or that issue, to know his or her thoughts about it on a public page. And I think that I am not very unique in my desire to have more text to get to know people better :) Wikipedians tend to read people (literally speaking) --アンタナナ 02:15, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
- P.S. I do not have intentions to make you answer the questions you do not want to answer, I just want to know your opinion before you are elected as a Trustee. Even if you think that some questions are out of scope or not relevant. Thank you :) --アンタナナ 02:15, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for reminding me, I have answered the remaining questions now. Ainali (talk) 12:22, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
Open Call for Individual Engagement Grants
Greetings! - Submit a grant request or draft your proposal in IdeaLab
- Get help with your proposal in an upcoming Hangout session
- Learn from examples of completed Individual Engagement Grants
With thanks, I JethroBT (WMF), Community Resources 15:56, 31 March 2016 (UTC)
Dear Ainali, I am chair of Wikimedia Ukraine Board and writing to you on behalf of Wikimedia Ukraine. Is it possible for you to find an hour to talk via Skype (hangouts) during the next few days? Preferably before May 6, as we have to vote before May 7. I have written a letter to you, please check your email.
I apologize for such a short notice, but I thought I would have an opportunity to meet all candidates during Wikimedia Conference 2016. And we were really busy with Wiki Loves Earth contest last week --Ilya (talk) 22:57, 1 May 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for your participation in IdeaLab during the Inspire Campaign focused on improving content curation & review processes from February to March 2016. I'm interested in hearing your feedback about your participation during campaign, so if you're able, I invite you to complete this brief survey to describe how you contributed to the campaign and how you felt about participating.
Immediate results of the campaign can be found here. Please feel free to review them and let me know if you have any questions about the campaign or the survey. Thanks! I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 02:31, 26 May 2016 (UTC)
Through June, we’re organizing an Inspire Campaign to encourage and support new ideas focusing on addressing harassment toward Wikimedia contributors. The 2015 Harassment Survey has shown evidence that harassment in various forms - name calling, threats, discrimination, stalking, and impersonation, among others - is pervasive. Available methods and systems to deal with harassment are also considered to be ineffective. These behaviors are clearly harmful, and in addition, many individuals who experience or witness harassment participate less in Wikimedia projects or stop contributing entirely.
Proposals in any language are welcome during the campaign - research projects, technical solutions, community organizing and outreach initiatives, or something completely new! Funding is available from the Wikimedia Foundation for projects that need financial support. Constructive feedback on ideas is appreciated, and collaboration is encouraged - your skills and experience may help bring someone else’s project to life. Join us at the Inspire Campaign so that we can work together to develop ideas around this important and difficult issue. With thanks,

Latest news from the Wikimedia Collaboration team, about Notifications, Flow and Edit Review Improvements. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you.
What's new?
Our quarterly goal is to add filters to the Recent Changes page, that show ORES good-faith and damaging tests and filters around new users. The work on this is proceeding mostly as planned. We hope it shall be available as a Beta feature (only on wikis where ORES is available as a Beta feature) before the end of the quarter.
Edit Review Improvements [More information]
Recent changes
- The filters design prototype for Special:RecentChanges is now stable. Development of these filters will now start. [1][2]
Flow [More information • Help pages]
Recent changes
- Notifications concerning Flow are no longer all grouped together in your preferences. The "Edits to my talk page" category will now include Flow notifications about your user talk page (if your user talk page uses Flow), and the "Mentions" category will now include mentions on Flow pages. Previously, all notifications related to Flow were grouped together in the "Structured Discussion" category. [3]
- The orange bar will now also be displayed when a message is posted on a your user talk page if your talk page uses Flow; previously, it was only displayed if you had a wikitext talk page. [4]

Logotype for Connected Open Heritage
Hi!
After the public consultation we have decided to pick Logo 1 as the new logotype for Connected Open Heritage. There was a great set of options and the decision was not easy. Thank you kindly for your work and your creativity!
Best, John Andersson (WMSE) (talk) 13:02, 22 November 2016 (UTC) (on behalf of the COH team)
Hej!
GLAMify has completed a report for you! :)
Hullo!
GLAMify has just completed a report you asked for, with suggestions for integrating media from commons:Category:Images from the Swedish National Heritage Board.
The report is waiting for you here. :) Please note that the report pages may get deleted after 60 days, so if you'd like to keep these results around, copy them somewhere else.
Your faithful servant,

What's new?
A decision has been made about how the Recent Changes filtering scheme will affect current ORES beta feature users. When this new filtering system rolls out as part of the beta, it will replace the current ORES display on the Recent Changes page. That means the automatic color coding, the red “r” symbol and the “hide probably good edits” filter will go away, to be replaced by the new, more nuanced set of filters and user-defined color coding. All other pages that have ORES features, like Watchlist and Related Changes, will remain as they are now for ORES beta users. We think those pages could also benefit from the new filtering system. But we'll wait to see how users react to the beta test—and make any necessary changes—before we start spreading the new UI around. That's the plan as it currently stands. As always, please let us know if you have any thoughts, in any language.
Edit Review Improvements [More information • Help pages]
Recent changes
- The Filters for Special:RecentChanges description page is now finished and ready for translation.
- On wikis that use ORES, new colors have been chosen for damaging changes displayed on a list of changes. [5]
Notifications [More information • Help pages]
Problems
- Sometimes, after marking an important number of cross-wiki notifications as read, the counter remained at 1. This is now fixed. [6]
Flow [More information • Help pages]
Recent changes
- Due to a bug, it was not possible to activate Flow on user talk pages as a Beta feature. This is possible again for wikis that have that feature. [7]
- Flow boards can be moved without constraints. However, this requires the move-Flow-board right. [8]
