Why did you change 2 hours to 20 minutes in Requests for queries? Last time I imported cur on my system it easily took 2 hours, if not longer. Thanks —Kate | Talk 12:54, 2004 Dec 30 (UTC)

Hi Kate. What sort of a system are you using? I did it again last night and it took 20 minutes. The only thing I can imagine taking two hours is the full database including old revisions. --Alterego 21:57, 30 Dec 2004 (UTC)

HI, you cannot upload copyrighted images. Only PD or under GFDL released images are acceptable. We don't accept even CC licence. Your images have to be deleted unless you change their licenses. --Aphaia | Translate Election | ++ 8 July 2005 02:27 (UTC)

The Wikimedia Foundation has been given permission to use the images by Hitwise and they will be published in the next Wikimedia Quarto accordingly. Please do not delete them. Thanks. --Alterego July 8, 2005 02:56 (UTC)

Thanks for clarification. Happy editing. --Aphaia | Translate Election | ++ 8 July 2005 03:45 (UTC)

Nomination for deletion

edit

Hello Alterego. I've nominated several files for deletion, some of which you uploaded. If you'd like to comment, please see the nomination. Thanks. —{admin} Pathoschild 02:36, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

There is another batch nomination containing images you've uploaded, if you'd like to comment. —{admin} Pathoschild 00:49, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Please explain the license of Image:Number1.jpg, Image:Serjune.gif, and Image:Genderage.gif for WM:RFD. Thanks.--Jusjih 04:01, 24 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Those images used to be used on an statistics article I wrote for the Foundation. Why has that text been deleted? Hitwise generated these images specifically for use by the WMF. They, and the apparantly deleted article, should be kept for their historical significance.--Alterego 04:06, 24 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Oh, here it is. Don't delete them. --Alterego 04:08, 24 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
They were published in the July, 2005 Wikimedia Quarto, and the images are still used there. Jusjih, are you in the business of deleting images without looking to see what articles are using them? --Alterego 04:11, 24 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

WikiBib

edit

What's the status of the project you documented on WikiBib? The website seems to be unaccessible. I'm wondering about it because WikiBib has also been suggested as an alternative name for a project proposal currently discussed under the name of Wikicat. What I'd like to do is to reserve the name WikiBib for the Wikicat project, since I believe it would be the more appropriate name for it. -- Uluboz 20:04, 9 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

You're free to the name. --Alterego 20:16, 9 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'm interested in WikiScholar (as it's been renamed) and I've just joined the Open access project. I'm going to post to the mailing list and get information and advice. I would also very much welcome the benefit of your experience. HLHJ (talk) 11:33, 26 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
