Your Note on the Wikiversity Main Page

edit

Does this mean Wikiversity is dead? It's probably just as well. Many people get in, get interested, see others aren't really doing anything and leave. I've been sort of running the b:Wikiversity:School of Literature and English Studies and it's been an uphill battle the whole way! Thanks, ~Amish

Erm. You could've left this message on my Wikibooks talk page. I don't check this one as often. Work on b:Wikiversity is just suspended until the project becomes official, which may never happen. You can help make it so by proposing it as an official project as I mentioned on the page. - Aya T C 23:09, 3 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Wikibooks, Adminship

edit

Hello Aya. I am b:User:Whiteknight from wikibooks, one of the current bureaucrats on that project. I would like to inform you that a recently accepted policy, Wikibooks:Wikibooks:Administrators affects you and several other administrators and bureaucrats that have been absent for over 1 year. According to the new policy, Administrators and bureaucrats who have been completely absent and inactive for over 1 year can be subjected to deadminship, pending a discussion on b:WB:RFA. Your last edit on en.wikibooks occured last november, so you will be falling into this category within the next month.

Nobody on en.wikibooks considers this a punishment. However, it is the desire of the community that administrators (especially bureaucrats) be active and available. By removing perpetually inactive admins from the lists, it is hoped that we can better take stock of our human resources in the future. There are a few points that I would like to make to you:

  1. If you do not intend on ever returning to en.wikibooks, I kindly ask that you voluntarily relinquish your permissions there.
  2. If you do intend on returning in the future, I want to point out that you can re-nominate yourself for privledges, and be considered for them without prejudice.
  3. If you would like to return to wikibooks immediately, you can avoid this matter entirely.

Again, we don't mean this to be a punishment or an insult. If you have any questions or comments about this, you can leave me a message b:User talk:Whiteknight on my wikibooks talk page. --Whiteknight 22:57, 1 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
