Hi Aoineko,
i'm wondering if the hieroglyphs need to be displayed just line-wise or also column-wise. If it's just linewise a simple span could replace the table. That would make the code cleaner and would bring pages with hiero parts closer to validation. The only thing needed to prevent lines from wrapping would be a hiero class on the span with white-space: nowrap; set. Currently hiero bits included in captions or inside lists don't validate, the span would solve that. -- Gwicke 12 avr 2004 à 22:06 (CEST)
- Hieroglyphs also need to be displayed column-wise. If you can explain me the problem in details, I'll try to make the script as close as possible to the validation. In fact, I didn't understand the problem ; Table are not validation compliant? A☮ineko 01:20, 13 Apr 2004 (UTC)
Move zh (Chinese) to Coronelli?
editAt Upgrade discussion April 2004 I mention some CPU load data and load profiles which appear to make it a good idea to move zh caching from Browne to Coronelli. What do you think of this idea? Jamesday 11:11, 23 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- The squids are supposed to be in a dns round robin for a few months now, hope that happens at some stage. Two minutes or so to set up, but it doesn't seem to be Jason's highest priority. -- Gwicke 12:29, 23 Apr 2004 (UTC)
External link icons
editI was just thinking about the little icons in Monobook which show up for External Links. I understand that the correct icon is determined by the class attribute of the HTML link, and that currently all links out of the current wiki are classed as external. Would it be a great stretch to distinguish between links to another wiki and real external links i.e. outside of wikipedia/wiktionary/etc? Users could then choose to have the interwiki links displayed using a different icon, or a different colour as before. HTH HAND --Phil 10:49, 28 May 2004 (UTC)
- I did exactly this a few weeks ago- sorry for not responding here. -- Gwicke 22:44, 17 Jun 2004 (UTC)
IE-triggering
editI read your message, but unfortunately didn'd understand. 'IF you know how to test if a variable is set in js without already triggering the IE warning, let me know.' Sorry, I understand only "station"... maybe you can try in german? thanks --WikiWichtel 16:01, 16 Jun 2004 (UTC)
- Should be solved now, a
typeof ta == "undefined"
test did the trick (to test if the variable is defined without already creating an IE notice). -- Gwicke 22:43, 17 Jun 2004 (UTC)
- ah, thanks alot --WikiWichtel 12:32, 23 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Your admin status
editHello. I'm a steward. A new policy regarding the removal of "advanced rights" (administrator, bureaucrat, etc.) was adopted by community consensus recently. According to this policy, the stewards are reviewing administrators' activity on wikis with no inactivity policy.
You meet the inactivity criteria (no edits and no log actions for 2 years) on yiwiktionary, where you are an administrator. Since yiwiktionary does not have its own administrators' rights review process, the global one applies.
If you want to keep your rights, you should inform the community of the wiki about the fact that the stewards have sent you this information about your inactivity. If the community has a discussion about it and then wants you to keep your rights, please contact the stewards at m:Stewards' noticeboard, and link to the discussion of the local community, where they express their wish to continue to maintain the rights, and demonstrate a continued requirement to maintain these rights.
We stewards will evaluate the responses. If there is no response at all after approximately one month, we will proceed to remove your administrative rights. In cases of doubt, we will evaluate the responses and will refer a decision back to the local community for their comment and review. If you have any questions, please contact us on m:Stewards' noticeboard.
