Wikimedia Travel Guide: Naming poll open

edit

Hi there,

You are receiving this message because you voiced your opinion at the Request for Comment on the Wikimedia Travel Guide.

The proposed naming poll opened a few days ago and you can vote for as many of the proposed names as you wish, if you are eligible. Please see Travel Guide/Naming Process for full details on voting eligibility and how the final name will be selected. Voting will last for 14 days, and will terminate on 16 October at 06:59:59 UTC.

Thanks, Thehelpfulone 21:58, 6 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Re: Quería ....

edit

Hola!

Alan (talk) 08:50, 3 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Adding a babel

edit

As you are applying for a global renamer right, would you mind adding a Babel code in the form ... {{#babel:xx|xx1|..|xxn}} to your user page. Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 04:06, 2 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

@billinghurst. Sure and done! I added your suggestion to my user page. Thank you for your advice. Jmvkrecords (Intra Talk) 05:06, 2 September 2014 (UTC).Reply

if you are interested

Hi, I hope I am not bothering you. I just want to inform you about a possibilty here on meta. After the SUL finalization there is a search for additional Global_renamers. It is mainly a "linear", "technical" task.

Maybe you knew already... maybe you are busy and have enough flags, but I am contacting you because at the moment in Global_renamers#Users_with_global_rename_access and Stewards#List_of_current_stewards, if I correctly remember, we have enough es>-3 profile but IMHO they are a little bit underrepresented in proportion to the global amount of es-speaking users if compared to other languages. Even if language is not a issue, we sure need more candidates in general, that's why even users with limited croos-wiki activity or limited knowledge of foreign languages have been proposed in the current week and they are going to be approved. That's why I think that with your cross-wiki experience (especially OTRS, commons, data) and your local experience as a bureaucrat you could be approved with no doubts.

Please notice that I am not an "expert" user on meta nor a local bureaucrat, I just care about the "variety" of the meta environment and I though that it was useful to inform some users of this opportunity.--Alexmar983 (talk) 14:18, 23 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Alexmar983. Thank you for your message. Maybe I can lend a hand answering requests for name changes here. I'll propose it to the community. Jmvkrecords (Intra Talk) 19:58, 24 March 2015 (UTC).Reply

Global rename

Hi! Please read my note on eswiki. Cheers, —DerHexer (Talk) 14:21, 19 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

This is a message from the Wikimedia Foundation. Translations are available.

As you may know, the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees approved a new "Access to nonpublic information policy" on 25 April 2014 after a community consultation. The former policy has remained in place until the new policy could be implemented. That implementation work is now being done, and we are beginning the transition to the new policy.

An important part of that transition is helping volunteers like you sign the required confidentiality agreement. All Wikimedia volunteers with access to nonpublic information are required to sign this new agreement, and we have prepared some documentation to help you do so.

The Wikimedia Foundation is requiring that OTRS volunteers sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain their access. You are receiving this email because you have been identified as an OTRS volunteer and are required to sign the confidentiality agreement under the new policy. If you do not sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015, you will lose your OTRS access. OTRS volunteers have a specific agreement available, if you have recently signed the general confidentiality agreement for another role (such as CheckUser or Oversight), you do not need to sign the general agreement again, but you will still need to sign the OTRS agreement.

Signing the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information is conducted and tracked using Legalpad on Phabricator. We have prepared a guide on Meta-Wiki to help you create your Phabricator account and sign the new agreement: Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information/How to sign

If you have any questions or experience any problems while signing the new agreement, please visit this talk page or email me (gvarnum wikimedia.org). Again, please sign this confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain your OTRS access. If you do not wish to retain this access, please let me know and we will forward your request to the appropriate individuals.

Thank you,
Gregory Varnum (User:GVarnum-WMF), Wikimedia Foundation

No renaming between November 20 and November 27

edit

Hi,

You’re getting this because you’re a steward or global renamer. The Community Tech team are working on cross-wiki watchlists. We need to add a couple of fields to the localuser table in centralauth database. In order to be able to do this, we’d need to run a script that will get in the way of renaming users. Our apologies – we realize this is getting in the way of your work.

We ask that you do not rename anyone between 00:00 November 20 (UTC) and 00:00 November 27 (UTC).

(UTC means that if you live in the Americas, it will be on the evening or afternoon of November 19 when the script starts running, and if you live in Oceania or eastern Asia, it can be closer midday on November 27 before we can be sure the script is no longer running.)

Phabricator task.

If there are any problems related to this, or you have any questions, please write me on my talk page. /Johan (WMF) (talk) via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 19:42, 17 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Warning

edit

Reminder as I saw you performed renames today: DO NOT rename users between 00:00 November 20 (UTC) and 00:00 November 27 (UTC).
If you continue with it, I have to remove your rename permission temporarily. Thanks for your understanding. With regards, Trijnsteltalk 16:11, 20 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Por favor

Hola, Jmvkrecords.

Gracias.
Gracias. Atón (talk) 20:58, 5 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Help design a new feature to stop harassing emails

edit

Hi there,

The Anti-Harassment Tools team plans to start develop of a new feature to allow users to restrict emails from new accounts. This feature will allow an individual user to stop harassing emails from coming through the Special:EmailUser system from abusive sockpuppeting accounts.

We’re inviting you to join the discussion because you voted or commented in the 2016 Community Wishlist discussion or IdeaLab discussion about letting users restrict who can send them email.

You can leave comments on this discussion page or send an email to the Anti-Harassment Tools team.

It is important to hear from a broad range of people who are interested in the design of the tool, so we hope you join the discussion.
