tack för korrigering
editHejdå LPfi, mycket tack för korrigering av enkäten. Nu kan svenskorna också delta i den. Det är fint. :-) --Geitost diskusjon 20:55, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
Letter petitioning WMF to reverse recent decitions
editThe Wikimedia Foundation recently created a new feature, "superprotect" status. The purpose is to prevent pages from being edited by elected administrators -- but permitting WMF staff to edit them. It has been put to use in only one case: to protect the deployment of the Media Viewer software on German Wikipedia, in defiance of a clear decision of that community to disable the feature by default, unless users decide to enable it.
If you oppose these actions, please add your name to this letter. If you know non-Wikimedians who support our vision for the free sharing of knowledge, and would like to add their names to the list, please ask them to sign an identical version of the letter on change.org.
I'm notifying you because you participated in one of several relevant discussions. -Pete F (talk) 22:13, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
Superprotect status
editDear LPfi, since you are an administrator on a wiki from which no user participated in this discussion, I'd like to make sure you are aware of some recent events which may alter what the Wikimedia Foundation lets you do on your wiki: Superprotect.
- Request for comment: Requests for comment/Superprotect rights
- An open letter about its implementation: Letter to Wikimedia Foundation: Superprotect and Media Viewer
Edit on language course
editHi LPfi ... Thank you for your message. I modified the text after checking it in an online dictionary but I will check it again. If I made a mistake I'll fix it. Kind regards. DARIO SEVERI (talk) 22:26, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
- Hi ... I am not at my place of work because I am confined in a quarantine and therefore I do not have access to my dictionaries but according to these two online dictionaries my text is correct (please see [1] and [2]).
- The text that existed previously were examples of possessive "adjective" and not of possessive "pronouns" [3]. Kind regards. DARIO SEVERI (talk) 22:44, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you DARIO SEVERI for the explanation. However, I think there is a confusion on terminology across languages. I cannot remember hearing about possessive adjectives. I suppose Swedish Spanish teachers do not want to confuse poor Swedish speakers by introducing that alien concept. See e.g. spanskisimo.wordpress.com, where they introduce both types as possessive pronouns, corresponding to what I am used to. –LPfi (talk) 11:12, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
- Hi LPfi, I already modified the text and put it in your last edit. Thank you for the explanation. Kind regards. DARIO SEVERI (talk) 12:13, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you. All good. –LPfi (talk) 12:30, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
Tip
editIf you want, on your userpage, you could do the following if you wanted to switch between languages:
{{langswitch |sv=Jag är Användare:LPfi på svenskspråkiga Wikipedia. Kontakta mig där. |en=I am User:LPfi at Swedish Wikipedia. Contact me there. |fi=Soy Usuario LPfi en Wikipedia en sueco. Me puede contactar allí. }}
Which produces (change the language and see): I am User:LPfi at Swedish Wikipedia. Contact me there.
Just a suggestion, nothing a must (since the technical side of {{langswitch}} has improved). SHB2000 (talk | contibs) 07:54, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks. When I created the page, I tried to use the templates {{en}} etc., like on Commons, and gave up as those did not work. –LPfi (talk) 13:37, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- I just happened to find out when experimenting with this template on commons (I've used it here as well). SHB2000 (talk | contibs) 13:41, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
About your inquiry
editI was shocked to read here that you're being given fabricated "evidence" of malicious ArticCynda edits after you asked for it. I want to make very clear that I have nothing to do with the questionable edits of user SealEater1488. Clearly, some individuals on en-voy are not afraid to use lies and deception in an effort to defame ArticCynda, and will try no matter what to discredit my ongoing efforts to improve Wikivoyage. I have no intention to add my own defense to the thread because it would quickly be censored anyway, but since you asked the question: no evidence of obviously bad edits will be found because they don't exist. All my contributions to Wikimedia projects, including Wikivoyage, are genuine and constructive, no exceptions. ArticCynda (talk) 07:50, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
- I am happy to hear that. I still think they genuinely believe it was you. Don't accuse people of lying just based on them being wrong. –LPfi (talk) 19:54, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
- I hear what you're saying, but I'm not sure they genuinely believe it. Despite my lengthy track record of constructive edits, a small minority of Wikivoyagers has been accusing me of bad faith edits for the last three years, obviously without any evidence for those accusations ever being found. At the very least it's immoral to accuse someone who can't defend themselves based on "evidence" that's nothing more than a vague suspicion. They're so happy "evidence" came out of nowhere that it's not allowed to even question whether the edits are actually ArticCynda's. I find that a very concerning escalation of the conflict. ArticCynda (talk) 00:39, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
- You did some pretty bad edits before you were blocked, and you never admitted that you had done anything really wrong. I don't blame the involved admins for not having any sympathy for you. I myself don't want to get engaged in this conflict, at least not for several months. I can just wish you good luck elsewhere, hopefully keeping away from the things you did back then. –LPfi (talk) 16:08, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
- That is appreciated, thank you. ArticCynda (talk) 05:56, 6 January 2022 (UTC)

- @ArticCynda I stumbled across this discussion. First of all AC, who allowed you to evade your indef ban? It was not voted by the community once, but twice. Then you openly admitted to being ArticCynda here. Then you tried off to pass yourself as a "new user" but you couldn't resist it here. Which "new user" knows all the Wikivoyage policies?
- Second of all, no-one accused of you being "SealEater1488". SHB2000 (talk | contribs) 00:07, 16 January 2022 (UTC)
- I think the example given to me on late bad AC edits was those of 1488. No comment otherwise. –LPfi (talk) 15:41, 16 January 2022 (UTC)
- That is indeed correct. @SHB2000: I can assure you the accounts you're referring to are purely single-use registrations, which are occasionally a necessity because certain pages on Wikimedia projects can only be edited by registered users. I dislike this approach just as much as you do because of the confusion it causes. Sadly, sometimes there is no way around it (for example, reverting vandalism on protected pages). In line with the project's philosophy, however, this is only done on an exceptional basis. If you have concerns about individual edits then you're welcome to raise these on my talk page. Moderation request
editHello, can I request the deletion of my user page on Wikivoyage, where you are admin? I have recently merged all my other user pages on Meta to take advantage of Global user pages, but don't manage to remove the user page on Wikivoyage. See also Synchbot#ArticCynda_(migrate_to_global_user_page). Thank you in advance, ArticCynda (talk) 13:09, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
- I think the template and related links should be easily reached by some obvious means, which doesn't work if there is no local page. I am instead adding a link to your user page here, I hope that is OK. –LPfi (talk) 13:43, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
- That looks like a good compromise solution. Thank you for the fast response, ArticCynda (talk) 14:49, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
