Archival of proposals
editSorry, but I disagree on your archival of the proposal Community Wishlist Survey 2019/Admins and stewards/Vote for your admins. This is a technical measure, but its use will imply a policy change. It is not by itself a policy change. Given the archival of the previous one you would probably want to archive Community Wishlist Survey 2019/Admins and stewards/Vote for undo action too. Background for both is w:Jürgen Habermas and w:emancipation. I'm pretty sure common users would welcome something like the previous two, and they would have forced some rough admins to reconsider their behavior. — Jeblad 23:13, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
- Sorry, but we're not going to impose this on users without said users wanting so, and this survey is the wrong venue to get the users to make up their minds. I'll archive the other proposal too, thank for pointing it out. MaxSem (WMF) (talk) 23:23, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
Archival
editRegarding [1] would you please tell me what made you think the project was a social change instead of a technical project? I'm not sure how much discussion about it you've had with Ward or any of the others with whom I've discussed it, but it's absolutely a software system which is not designed to replace any existing grants process, only complement them with other options for projects needing funding. I've never heard anyone refer to it as anything other than a technical programming project. I was going to fill in the details. Would you also please say why you are archiving proposals marked "TBD" early instead of waiting until the end of the submission period? James Salsman (talk) 04:01, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
- Agree, it was too hasty, sorry. I've reverted myself for now. MaxSem (WMF) (talk) 04:31, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
Community Tech Bot
editHello. The bot has not worked on fawiki since 25 September. Please fix it. Thanks 4nn1l2 (talk) 11:56, 1 November 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for the report, 4nn1l2. I've filed it here, will take a look shortly. MaxSem (WMF) (talk) 21:51, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
- Fixed, 4nn1l2. Sorry for inconvenience. MaxSem (WMF) (talk) 00:51, 5 November 2019 (UTC)
Community Wishlist Survey 2020/Archive/Improve workflow for uploading academic papers to Wikisource
editAm I right in thinking that I was too slow responding here? I'm not sure if the proposal has much chance another year; maybe the image portion... HLHJ (talk) 01:12, 21 November 2019 (UTC)
- Even if you responded quicker, we still would have had a serious discusssion on what we can do with time available and what we can't. By the way, maybe there any Commons tools that might help you? MaxSem (WMF) (talk) 23:07, 22 November 2019 (UTC)
