A strange message
editI have not broken the rules, but a strange message appeared:
Muutoin, keskustellaksesi estosta, jätä viesti arviointia varten Meta-Wikiin.”

- @Raid5: That is the a range of a US provider. When I check for this edit, I don't see that you are blocked or editing from within that range. There is a block on 23.81.0.0/16 as it is the home for spambots. If that is problematic for you then we can look to some solutions. — billinghurst sDrewth 09:45, 17 November 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you for answering. User Zache reminded me [1] that I use Mozilla Addon. I do not intend to fool servers, I will think Github version of the addon with a white list. At the moment I disabled that addon. --Raid5 (talk) 11:50, 17 November 2015 (UTC)

Kiitos mielenkiintoisesta projektista. ---raid5 (talk) 21:13, 4 March 2022 (UTC)
En voi muokata järjestelmänlaajuista CSS-tyylisivuani enkä JavaScript-sivuani. ---raid5 (talk) 15:20, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
Ilmeisesti muokkauksissani on jotakin ongelmaa, joten voitte saman tien poistaa muokkausoikeuteni. ---raid5 (talk) 13:30, 12 March 2022 (UTC)
You do not have permission to edit this page, for the following reason:
Your account or IP address has been blocked. you have been blocked by @Jon Kolbert: until 19:28, 29 August 2024, because: Open proxy/Webhost: Visit the FAQ if you are affected .
You can email Jon Kolbert or another administrator (list) to contest the block. You cannot use the email this user feature unless a valid email address is specified in your account preferences, has been confirmed, and you are not disallowed from using it while blocked.
Your current IP address is and the block ID is #457584. Please include this in any queries. Blocked users can edit their own user talk page, unless specifically disallowed from doing so (if you are not logged in as a registered user, this will be the talk page for your IP address). You can add to your user talk page to request unblocking.
If the block reason seems unrelated to you, it is possible you were affected by a software feature known as the autoblock. In that case, contact an administrator and they will do their best to remove the autoblock. Please note that, for technical reasons, removing the autoblock is not always possible. In such cases, you may need to wait 24 hours for the autoblock to expire.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have happened.

- Any of these autoblocks should be long expired. If you are still getting hit with a global ip block please use: Special:Contact/Stewards - provide them the block message, including your actual IP address. — xaosflux Talk 10:14, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for helping. I can’t send an email to @Jon Kolbert: I am still blocked. ---raid5 (talk) 21:47, 21 June 2022 (UTC)

- Thank you @Xaosflux: I use only VPN, I do not edit without secure connection. Finnish servers are fine but for example 176.9.0.0/16 Falkenstein doesn’t work – I cant’t even edit my talk page. ---raid5 (talk) 21:40, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
Unblock request declined

- GIPBE doesn't do anything for local blocks; all WMF servers support TLS, so a 'secure connection' can be established. As noted above, you shouldn't have this problem if you stop using proxys - why can't you stop using proxies? — xaosflux Talk 23:09, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
- The local IPBE info is here: Meta:IP_block_exemption, for a local IPBE you will need to have a genuine and exceptional need; then you can email a checkuser (Special:ListUsers/checkuser) and ask for it. — xaosflux Talk 23:13, 4 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Xaosflux and Stryn: Xaosflux, you are right that this connection is 1.3 TLS AES 256 GCM SHA384, for now it is considered secure. When I am editing Wikipedia I have some configs (the aim is not to reduce fingerprinting but more secure and then of course more fingerprintable). Some examples – I am not telling all of them: I have disabled non-modern cipher suites (these are used for passive fingerprinting if disabled but its only purpose in Wikipedia is more secure – just in case). I have disabled some of javascript (Ion and baseline JIT to harden against javascript exploits – even this javascript threat model is practically very rare or nonexistent). I hope you don’t mind if I don’t explain why I use VPN or can I stop using VPN, now my IP address is visible for everybody (unblock request information). I have global IP block exemption but I understand that it is here not enough. So I can’t edit my user page anymore. My purpose is not to be impolite, I just can’t write in English very well. Thank you for helping and instructions. I am sorry, I don’t have enought strength to ask anymore number of reasons. Probably I will check my Meta-Wikipedia talk page very rarely. ---raid5 (talk) 21:57, 5 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Raid5 it is possible for you to also get a local IP Block Exemption, here on the Meta-Wiki; the current directions say that the procedure for doing that is to email one of our checkusers and ask them for it. The list of checkusers is on the link above. If one or more of the IP addresses above is not a proxy/VPN we can redact it from this page; drop us an email at meta-oversight lists wikimedia org about which IP above is a non-proxy IP and we will get it scrubbed for you. Keep in mind, you are likely to have this same problem on every sizable local WMF project, as most of them also locally block VPN's and Proxy services. — xaosflux Talk 22:31, 5 August 2022 (UTC)
