An Urgent Request

Hi Ale, The WMF fundraiser kicks off next week and, in order to be ready, we need some translation help. The translations can be found at Translations and the Jimmy letter appeal/en. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at klyman@wikimedia.org. Thank you for your collaboration!Klyman 19:12, 3 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Translation Update

edit

I want to thank you for your help translating throughout this year's fundraiser. The fundraiser has greatly benefited from all your contributions. Currently, the Kartika, Liliaroja, Abbas and Joan Gomà appeals need to be translated, as we are running appeals from editors. You can find all translation requests at the translation hub on meta and you can follow the progress of the fundraiser in real time by tracking the fundraiser statistics. It is important to check the Core Messages as many languages still need updating. Also if you haven't already, you can subscribe to the translators-l mailing list for all new requests and major changes. Many thanks for your help in truly making this a global fundraiser that you can edit.Klyman 18:52, 7 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you!

edit

I would like to thank you for all of your help translating and organizing translators during this fundraiser. Every time I sent out a request, the translation was completed in record time. Your collaboration was paramount to the success of the campaign and personally, made my job a very pleasant one. I wish you well in the year ahead and hope our paths cross again.Klyman 19:04, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Translator, We need you!

edit

Dear Solstag,

You have helped us in previous years with translations and for that we are most grateful. Now we turn towards the 2011/12 fundraiser. It may seem forever away, but work has already begun getting everything ready to go. This year we want to have landing pages covering as many countries in as many languages as possible.

Right now, we want to figure out who is interested in translating for the fundraiser. This year we're hoping to have more of a solidified "core" group of translators that we can count on to have work done by a few key dates, but we'd also welcome help from people who are willing to just help out when they can.

If you would be interested please take a look at this little sign-up survey and fill it out http://survey.wikimedia.org/index.php?sid=13638&newtest=Y&lang=en. With that we can start building a list of people and filling any gaps in the languages we serve.

Many Thanks

Your comments are invited on four current FDC proposals

edit

Hello! As you may know, we've opened the community review period for the current funding round in the Funds Dissemination Committee process. I noticed that in the past you expressed interest in the FDC, since you were a nominee for the committee. I'd like to invite you to review the 4 proposals (totaling $1.3 million USD) that were submitted to the FDC, and to ask questions and share comments about those proposals. You can help to ensure that they have high potential for impact regarding the movement's goals. The FDC especially values comments by community members and will take them into account when they prepare their recommendations. Let me know if you have any questions! --Katy Love, Senior Program Officer, Funds Dissemination Committee, Wikimedia Foundation, 22:36, 14 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Inspire Campaign on content curation & review

edit

I've recently launched an Inspire Campaign to encourage new ideas focusing on content review and curation in Wikimedia projects. Wikimedia volunteers collaboratively manage vast repositories of knowledge, and we’re looking for your ideas about how to manage that knowledge to make it more meaningful and accessible. We invite you to participate and submit ideas, so please get involved today! The campaign runs until March 28th.

All proposals are welcome - research projects, technical solutions, community organizing and outreach initiatives, or something completely new! Funding is available from the Wikimedia Foundation for projects that need financial support. Constructive feedback on ideas is welcome - your skills and experience can help bring someone else’s project to life. Join us at the Inspire Campaign to improve review and curation tasks so that we can make our content more meaningful and accessible! I JethroBT (WMF) 05:39, 29 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Survey on content curation & review Inspire Campaign

edit

Thanks for your participation in IdeaLab during the Inspire Campaign focused on improving content curation & review processes from February to March 2016. I'm interested in hearing your feedback about your participation during campaign, so if you're able, I invite you to complete this brief survey to describe how you contributed to the campaign and how you felt about participating.

Immediate results of the campaign can be found here. Please feel free to review them and let me know if you have any questions about the campaign or the survey. Thanks! I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 02:31, 26 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

(Opt-out instructions)

Through June, we’re organizing an Inspire Campaign to encourage and support new ideas focusing on addressing harassment toward Wikimedia contributors. The 2015 Harassment Survey has shown evidence that harassment in various forms - name calling, threats, discrimination, stalking, and impersonation, among others - is pervasive. Available methods and systems to deal with harassment are also considered to be ineffective. These behaviors are clearly harmful, and in addition, many individuals who experience or witness harassment participate less in Wikimedia projects or stop contributing entirely.

Proposals in any language are welcome during the campaign - research projects, technical solutions, community organizing and outreach initiatives, or something completely new! Funding is available from the Wikimedia Foundation for projects that need financial support. Constructive feedback on ideas is appreciated, and collaboration is encouraged - your skills and experience may help bring someone else’s project to life. Join us at the Inspire Campaign so that we can work together to develop ideas around this important and difficult issue. With thanks,

I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 17:47, 31 May 2016 (UTC) (Opt-out instructions)Reply

Tech News

edit

Hi, I saw you edited User:Johan (WMF)/Target lists/VE 201910/7 to change a target page. For future reference: That list is just a temporary workaround for a problem where messages with long target lists don't get delivered (see phab:T232392). The list you'd want to edit is VisualEditor/Newsletter/Wikis with VE, or you'll get it to the same page as before next time too. (: (I've done so this time, you don't need to do anything again.) /Johan (WMF) (talk) 14:38, 6 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Johan (WMF): Alright! Got it, thanks (: Abraço, --Solstag (talk) 15:37, 6 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
Hi, I see you had the same problem again for Tech News – the parent list for that is Global message delivery/Targets/Tech ambassadors. E.g. User:Johan (WMF)/Tech News target list 1 that I see you edited a while back is just something I use to get around the problem with undelivered messages when the target lists become too big, and I missed that you had changed the target there. I see you fixed it in the main list now, so that should solve it for Tech News. /Johan (WMF) (talk) 15:10, 14 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
