Northern Sami to French to English dictionary

edit

Dear Unsui,

My name is Egia and I am a student and tech geek from the UK who has a keen interest in the Northern Sámi language, the Sámi people, and the rich culture and oral history tradition of Sápmi. I am keen to learn from you and would like to develop a new dictionary that lists definitions in Sámi, French and English. Is this sort of project something you would be interested in and could you help me with this? I will be using websites such as Sanakirja.fi and sillylinguistics.com in order to develop a base for the definitions list, then build on that base using resources from multiple sources. I understand that you have a keen interest in ornithology and this will be one of the key subjects of my picture-based dictionary, grammar guide, and encyclopaedia of nature. As you have proven to certainly have many insights into this field, I would be eternally grateful for your assistance.

Kind Regards, Egia.

Hi Egia,
At first, sorry for the delay but I was on vacancy. So, on what format do you intend to make this dictionary ? Unfortunately, I have at present no time for this kind of work since my work on the french wiktionary is very time-consuming. Moreover, I had to resign from my status of sysop notably because of that. I may help you from time to time, if I can and if necessary. Please, ask me at that time on my french talk page here. Futhermore, I am not at all a specialist of ornithology. My special field is lichenology and more or less botany.
Kind regards. Unsui (talk) 14:35, 15 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Community Wishlist Survey 2020

edit

Hello!

You are getting this message because you've previously participated in the Community Wishlist Survey, in either the Wikisource or Wiktionary categories. I wanted to let you know that this year's survey is now open for proposals. You can suggest technical changes until November 11. Unlike previous years, we are only accepting proposals for non-Wikipedia content projects with no dedicated teams (i.e., Wikibooks, Wiktionary, Wikiquote, Wikisource, Wikiversity, Wikispecies, Wikivoyage, and Wikinews). You can learn more on the survey page.

You can vote on proposals from November 20 to December 2. To keep the number of messages at a reasonable level, I won't send out a separate reminder to you about that. We look forward to your participation. Thank you! IFried (WMF) (talk) 18:52, 22 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
