Hello, Username142857. Welcome to the Wikimedia Meta-Wiki! This website is for coordinating and discussing all Wikimedia projects. You may find it useful to read our policy page. If you are interested in doing translations, visit Meta:Babylon. You can also leave a note on Meta:Babel or Wikimedia Forum if you need help with something (please read the instructions at the top of the page before posting there). Also worthwhile acquainting yourself with the functions of global user pages. Happy editing!

Page creation

edit

Looking at your page creations around "Scholarships/2015" you will find the top level page is kept solely for historical purposes - see here. As such placing further pages beneath this is pointless. Thanks --Herby talk thyme 13:03, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Then why aren't all of the other Scolarships/[year] pages pointless? Surely the same logic that works for the other pages, right? Username142857 (talk) 13:10, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
I suggest that you learn from your English Wikipedia block and refrain from doing unnecessary stuff. Thanks. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 13:13, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
The other pages were created at the time not recently - hence "historical". Equally I agree with Minorax. --Herby talk thyme 13:15, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry. Thanks for explaining it to me. You have a valid point. And yes, I will try to make constructive edits to Wikimedia* as I don't want the same thing to happen again. Also, I'm just curious, how did you find out that I was recently blocked from Wikipedia? (not trying to be rude)
  • constructive is kinda subjective which is why there are no guarantees. If you believe my edits are unconstructive, please make your case on the talk page or in the edit summary for the revert instead of immediately blocking me. I'm fairly new to Wikimedia, so... Username142857 (talk) 13:24, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
As is obvious from this dialogue people are not "immediately blocking you". They are also suggesting that you get some understanding of projects before you edit in ways that are not appropriate to the project concerned. In any day many people are new to Wikimedia - very few get blocked without some dialogue.--Herby talk thyme 13:27, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Equally WikiStories would be a separate project and a page on Meta is outside the scope of this Wiki. Please edit very thoughtfully in future --Herby talk thyme 13:19, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

I would love it if you actually created that, especially if you made it as a Wikimedia project! Username142857 (talk) 13:32, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Check out Proposals for new projects --Herby talk thyme 13:33, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
I created the proposal article: WikiStories I hope it will be approved! Username142857 (talk) 14:06, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
What's your opinion of WikiStories? Please state them here! Username142857 (talk) 11:52, 1 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

I got blocked from wikipedia

edit

hi i got blocked from wikipedia for sockpuppetry should i edit wikipedia right now or wait for a while to edit wikipedia again Yrdsb (talk) 14:03, 3 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Don't do it. I got blocked indefinitely from Wikipedia for 'not being here to build an encyclopedia' and I actually considered making a sockpuppet account to circumvent that, and then I realized that that would get into even more trouble. If you get blocked, the only way you can edit Wikipedia is if you set up a sockpuppet account, which is a) against Wikipedia policy and b) is, ironically, what you gotten into trouble for, meaning you should stop editing. But why were you making sockpuppet accounts in the first place? Username142857 (talk) 14:42, 3 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
because i wanted to vandalize wikipedia however my school ip got gblocked and i learn my lesson not to vandelize any wiki again also they said to consider the standard offer which they say wait 6 months without edits or without an account because editing wikipedia againYrdsb (talk) 14:56, 3 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Still, listen to the administrators. They can't possibly be wrong, can they? Username142857 (talk) 15:07, 3 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
What should I do on the english wikipedia before 6 months Yrdsb (talk) 15:07, 3 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Find other things to do instead of Wikipedia (e.g. Wikiversity. It's very similar to Wikipedia). Username142857 (talk) 15:11, 3 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
How about using fandom however fandom indef global block me 2 years ago and according to fandom policy you are not allowed to gblock evade also they glock my miraheze account and i am not allowed to lock evadeYrdsb (talk) 15:13, 3 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
but do you have a discord I want to talk to you on discord after school since discord is blocked on the school wifi Yrdsb (talk) 15:18, 3 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
No. I don't have a discord, but you can talk to me here! Username142857 (talk) 00:28, 4 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
No, you can't. If you're blocked, you're blocked (unless you want to make a sockpuppet account, which you shouldn't) Username142857 (talk) 00:27, 4 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
What is your discord Yrdsb (talk) 03:00, 4 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
"No. I don't have a discord" Username142857 (talk) 05:49, 4 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Should I use a vpn in school I want to bypass my ip global block. Yrdsb (talk) 13:58, 4 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
I still think that counts as sockpuppetry. Again, if you really want to earn your rights back, repeated sockpuppetry isn't going to help you. You've gotten blocked for sockpuppetry so you decide to make another sockpuppet account? Really? Username142857 (talk) 15:42, 4 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Because I want to edit wikipedia because i love editing wikipedia and helping anti vandalism Yrdsb (talk) 22:32, 4 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
To earn your trust back, you should make constructive edits to other Wiki projects, because I trust that you won't vandalize Wikipedia, but the administrators do not Username142857 (talk) 00:27, 5 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

22990645?

By this "revert" you re-added Qazaqstan, I wonder if you're indeed plan to re-create such a project proposal called it or not? --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 08:36, 13 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

No. I just thought that it was still under discussion. Surely, if it isn't, it should have moved to the 'Closed Proposals' section. Username142857 (talk) 09:41, 13 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Heed the commentary

edit

Your editing has been declared problematic at enWP with a fairly damning comment. You have also had your motives questioned here. I would recommend a period of reflection i looking at our purposes and your purpose for being here. If you cannot get a direct alignment then maybe we are not the place for you at this time.  — billinghurst sDrewth 09:45, 14 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry. Username142857 (talk) 09:59, 14 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Agreed. It's best to listen to what other editors have said to you over and over again before you run up into another NOTHERE block, or worse, a global ban. 2601:647:5800:1A1F:3174:FFBE:B243:42B5 01:58, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
A global ban? What's that? Username142857 (talk) 14:34, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
See Global bans. Summary: It basically bans you from editing any Wikimedia project. It is reserved for serious cross-wiki abuse. 2601:647:5800:1A1F:B47F:771D:3F6E:5A29 21:48, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
So basically what I thought I got when I got blocked from Wikipedia Username142857 (talk) 08:38, 21 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please stop bludgeoning the process

edit

Please stop bludgeoning the process, as you did at Talk:WikiStories. Bludgeoning the process generally consists of attempting to dominate discussions by using excessive replies and repeated arguments to contradict people who disagree with you. This behavior generally does not make editors agree with you, and can be seen as a form of disruptive editing. This behavior can also get you blocked, if you continue. 2601:647:5800:1A1F:3174:FFBE:B243:42B5 19:00, 19 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
