Welcome! :-p Braveheart (talk) 18:11, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Welcome! Is Braveheart your personal username? That's something useful to add in the user page (the babel too). --Nemo 05:54, 12 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Nemo bis: no, I'm not the person behind the account VEckl (WMF). Cheers, Braveheart (talk) 12:27, 16 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Task suffix

edit

Hi, short explanation for my nitpick: the standard in our issue tracker (since bugzilla time) is to have all issue type specifications at the end of the summary, lowercase and in parentheses, like "(tracking)". This is consistent with the MediaWiki core disambiguation standard too. Nemo 07:28, 16 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks @Nemo bis: I wasn't aware of the round parentheses, as I've seen it differently on some workboards before. So I thought, that there might be more common use cases for them and a need to set issue type specifications apart. Happy to follow the standard.

Besten Gruß --Volker E. (WMF) (talk) 19:50, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Vorne auf deiner Benutzerseite steht: In my role I'm leading UI Standardization efforts at the Wikimedia Foundation. Providing a consistent and accessible user interface across projects is fundamental for enabling people to be creative and productive. See our Design Style Guide for our process and our guiding principles.
Das enthält einen Link https://wikimedia.github.io/WikimediaUI-Style-Guide/ und der zeigt 404 File not found The site configured at this address does not contain the requested file.
--Volker E. (WMF)

Wikimedia accessibility discussion group

edit

Hello,

Following the last Hackathon we started a discussion group to discuss and formalize ideas to improve accessibility of Wikimedian projects.

It's a Telegram group that you can join through https://t.me/wikimedia_accessibility

As someone cited your name, it seemed relevant to invite you there.

Accessibility improvements is for all of us, generally benefit far more users than those for who some specific design focus are the most critical, and is perfectly aligned with Wikimedia's values and strategic goals.

To my mind, not putting accessibility high in our priority list would be in contradiction with what we state as our aims. Indeed, regarding priorities of movement strategy, accessibility matches at least "B. Improve User Experience", "E. Funding for Underrepresented Communities." and "H. Content Initiatives in Underrepresented Communities".

I hope that we will soon have the pleasure to count amongst us. ☺️

Kind regards, Psychoslave (talk) 04:18, 28 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Late reply, but still worth to be shared: Thanks for pushing this valuable initiative @Psychoslave! Have been participating ever since. Volker E. (WMF) (talk) 21:13, 13 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi, we all have our busy schedule haven't we? I focused on an other area for my contributions over the last months, regarding grammatical gender in the hope to come with some tools to help our community be more inclusive on gender in general while staying tune to neutral point of view in our common works. Once I'm done with it, I plan to focus again on accessibility. Cheers. Psychoslave (talk) 07:59, 25 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
