Velkommen til Wikipedia skrivekonkurrencen til at forbedre dækningen af kvinder på Wikipedia!
- What: This is a public writing competition to create and improve articles to strengthen Wikipedia's coverage of women and related topics into as many languages as possible, including the languages for Wikipedias in the Wikimedia incubator. The winners will receive great prizes. The Challenge is organized as part of the global WikiGap campaign with the first edition in 2019. This year, we have had help from the UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR) with developing a list of names of important women in human rights, with few or no articles on Wikipedia. These articles will yield bonus points.
- Now we are also launching WikiGapFinder, a tool that helps you discover articles about women that exist in one language but are missing in another. You may use this to identify good articles to create!
- When: The writing challenge will run from 00:01 on 8 March (CET UTC+01:00) until 23:59 on 8 April 2020 (CEST UTC+02:00). Sunday 8 March is the International Women's Day.
- How: The contest is simple in structure, based on a KISS point system: You get points while improving articles, with the goal for each participant to gain as many points as possible.
- Who: Everybody can help in any language to collaborate on writing and/or translating the articles related to women. Any Wikipedian with a named account (on any wiki, including the incubator) can participate. To participate you just need to sign up on the Participants section. At the different WikiGap events around the world we will give the participants information how they successfully can participate.
- Why: The contest is organized by the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs (ref) and Wikimedia Sverige, with support from Swedish embassies, the UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR) and Wikimedia affiliates across the world. Wikipedia is missing articles about all kind of topics and through this contest we hope to improve articles around women. Improving Wikipedia's articles and coverage around women is important to ensure that our readers find high quality information about the people that has helped form our world.
