Abstract:
GLAM WIKI is among the Wikimedia Movement strategy aimed at fostering the open, free, and accessible knowledge to all a sundry. How do we diversify our cultures using GLAM Wiki? The author thinks it is by researching and documenting our regional cultures using the GLAM WIKI. How do we research and document on GLAM? This is via journal articles writing, monographs, exhibition , Events , scholarships, thesis, data sets, videos,presentations and others. Cross regional cultures among the CEE countries include: Art, architecture, film, music and others; African cultures include: farming system, poetry, folklore and histories and others. |

How will this session be beneficial for the communities in the region of CEE?
This presentation seeks to empower the CEE to collaborate with West Africa sub-region on the need to enhance GLAM through the professionals in this sector. It would spur the CEE Wiki volunteers to diversify their cultures by researching and documenting same in GLAM. It will help to build and preserve cultural values among these regions. It will help to actualize the movement strategy goal by the year (2030). It would foster regional integration and build up underrepresented regions. |
