Wikimedia CH/Micro Grant/Grove and The new Grove Musicencyclopedias
Please provide the following information for your micro-grant request:
Your Username: Public Domain Project
Your Country of residence: Switzerland
Amount requested: 500 CHF
Planned activity:
At the old office location in Zurich the Public Domain Project had physical access to the academically accepted music encyclopedias The new Grove and Grove.
Since the project moved to another location in Berne, to work closer together with Autismus Link which provides us with much needed help in digitizing 78 rpm records, the project has no access to this important reference information.
To continue our work we would like to buy second hand books of the following encyclopedias for the total amount of 500 CHF:
- The new Grove and Grove. 20 Books, linen bound hardcover
- Grove: American Music. 4 Books, linen bound hardcover
- Grove: Musical Instruments. 3 Books, linen bound hardcover
People involved:
Carl Flisch, Specialisterne, every other Wikipedian who needs access to academically accepted music encyclopedias either with physical access in Bern or via online requests to us and we will try to find the needed citation.
Please explain what influence your activity will have on Wikimedia Projects:
Wikipedia in general: Better and more citations in music related articles for all language versions.
Public Domain Project: Faster clarification of the copyright status of a music recording because we have direct access to the needed information, that sadly can not be accessed in online resources, and thus more digitized music uploaded to Commons.
Please provide links to your contributions after your project or activity ended:
