Wikimedia Conference 2016/Registration

General information

edit

The Wikimedia Conference (WMCON) is the annual meeting of all Wikimedia organizations (Wikimedia chapters, thematic organization, user groups, and the Wikimedia Foundation), as well as the WMF Board, AffCom and FDC to discuss the future of the Wikimedia movement in terms of collaboration, structures and organizational development.

The WMCON16 is organized and hosted by Wikimedia Deutschland (WMDE) in close collaboration with the Wikimedia Foundation (WMF).

Next to the core conference, taking place on April 22-24 (Fri-Sun), WMF organizes pre-conference workshops on Program Design, Evaluation, and Learning on April 20 and 21 (Tues-Wed). More information on the workshops can be found here. Should you be interested in participating in the pre-conference workshop, you can indicate your interest within the WMCON16 registration form (see link below). Please note that final attendance confirmation for the pre-conference workshop is sent to you by Jaime Anstee until end of January 2016.

Registration period

edit

Registration opens on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 and closes on Friday, January 15, 2016. Please note that no registrations will be accepted after this deadline.

Preparing for registration

edit

It takes up to 40 minutes to complete the registration form. To be able to fully respond to all questions, please take the following steps:

1. Check eligibility criteria

It is crucial to check the subpage eligibility criteria carefully before registering. The provided list shows your affiliation’s eligibility status and defines to which participants’ group you belong to. Moreover, it displays the group related travel and accommodation booking process as well as the number of participants your affiliation is allowed to send.

2. Follow the “how to select the delegates” information

You can find the information here.

3. Questions on conference program

You can look them up in advance here. Please note that you will be asked to answer these questions within the registration form.

4. Questions on the pre-conference workshops

If you are interested in participating in the pre-conference workshops on Program Design, Evaluation, and Learning, please read here, before filling in the registration form.

5. Have your passport at hand

All participants, who get their travel booked by WMF and/or are in need of a visa, need to enter their passport details within the registration form. We would also like to highlight that you need to have a passport that is at least valid for three month beyond the period of your stay.
