للأسف، رغبتنا في مشاركة المعرفة الجمعية مع كل بني آدم تُقابل أحيانا بإجراءات تقييدية من كيانات حكومية. بينما تختلف الأسباب والطرق من موقف لآخر، تعمل مؤسسة ويكيميديا بثبات على إزالة تلك القيود في أسرع وقت ممكن.
في أكثر الحالات تطرفا، تمنع تلك القيود الوصول لكافة أو بعض أجزاء ويكيبيديا، أو مشاريع ويكيميديا الأخرى، في منطقة أو بلد بأكلمها. متسقة مع رغبتها في توسيع نطاق الوصول للمعرفة الحرة عوضا عن تحديدها، تنخرط المؤسسة في حملات لرفع الوعي بتلك الحجوبات ومحاولة إزالتها.

On Wednesday, 15 January 2020, the Wikimedia Foundation started to receive reports that the block of Wikipedia in Turkey is being lifted, data which is also indicated by our internal traffic reports.

Overview
On Monday, July 22nd, the Wikimedia Foundation announced some exciting news about our case against Turkey’s block on Wikipedia that is before the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). The Court has selected the case for priority status.
This means our case is moving forward more quickly in the Court. This is important because a decision in our case may help set a precedent for how information is shared online.
We would love to have the support of Wikimedia Foundation supporters in spreading the good news about this next step in our case, and more broadly, in reiterating the importance of supporting free knowledge around the world.
This toolkit contains social media captions and graphics to help you and your organization amplify this news. We hope you’ll do so today or in the coming days and weeks.

تركيا - حملة مايو 2019
في 23 مايو 2019، أعلنت مؤسسة ويكيميديا عن تقديم عريضة للمحكمة الأوروبية لحقوق الإنسان، وهي المحكمة الدولية التي تُعرض عليها قضايا خروقات حقوق الإنسان داخل أوروبا، طالبةً رفع الحظر المفروض على ويكبيديا في تركيا لأكثر من عامين.
ندعو المنتسبين، والمجتمع، وباقي العالم أن يؤازرنا في نشر الأساس الذي يقود هذا الحراك في تركيا، "المعرفة هي حق إنساني"، عن طريق حملة على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي.
سيكون محور تركيز قنوات تواصلنا الاجتماعي أثناء الإطلاق هو رفع الوعي بمسألة حجب ويكيبيديا في تركيا، وتوعية الناس عن أسباب تقديمنا للمحكمة الأوروبية لحقوق الإنسان. سنربط الموضوع أيضا بالرأي العام بأن "المعرفة هي حق إنساني" لنوضح أن التقدم للمحكمة الأوروبية لحقوق الإنسان هو خطوة وسط خطوات عديدة نحتاج أن نخطوها لنتأكد أن ويكيبيديا مفتوحة للجميع.
