Workshops
editIn Tunisia, for this year, the Wikimedia TN User Group partnered with the Swedish Embassy, The CREDIF, Asswat Tounes and Ericsson to organize the WikiGap workshop in the headquarters of Ericsson, where during 4 hours, participants wrote, translated and updated Wikipedia articles about feminine leaders in the history of Tunisia and Sweden.

Mois de la Contribution 2018 Workshops
editThe user group organized this year 3 workshops to train youth in different regions of the country on contributing on the french Wikipedia and WikiVoyage. The workshops were held in Sfax, Tunis and Sidi Bouzid. These workshops engaged over 30 youth between 18 and 25 years old.

Wiki In Mahdia
editIn partnership with Lingare Mehdia, the user group organized a workshop about contributing on Wikipedia, WikiCommons and WikiVoyage. Articles that were written were about monuments and festivals of Mahdia city. 25 ârticipants ere present.

editThis year, In partnership with Carthagina Organization, the user group organized 4 local workshops and 2 photography tours in Sfax that engaged 12 local experienced editors and new ones to write over 165 Wikipedia articles and to upload more than 500 photos on Commons about the different monuments of the medina of Sfax. The team was present in two local events to recruite: the Youth Forum and Al Charki event.

As a way to celebrate the Carthage Film Festival 2018, the UG organized an editathon to imporove the Wikipedia content related to African and Tunisian cinema. Also, the group got the support of the Media department of the festival to get journalist access to the festival and take photos of the celebrities who were present.

The editathon in Dar El-Harka
Between March and April, the UG organized two workshops in the medicine school of Tunis in partnership with Associa-med (Association of medical students in Tunis) to train students to write about leaders in the medicine field. 10 Participants were present, among them 8 girls, and after a total 4 months follow-up, 20 Wikipedia articles in arabic, french and english were written.

Conferences
editWikiIndaba Conference is the regional conference for Africans both within and in the diaspora. The first edition was held in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2014 by Wikimedia South Africa which happens to be the only Wikimedia Chapter in Africa, the second one was held in Accra in 2017 by Open Foundation West Africa. This brought together Wikimedians and people from the Open Community within Africa and in the Diaspora.
