The project is primarily initiated to take snapshots of important structures and places across Nigeria. As a pilot project, the community started with the 6 states in the south west of the country. The project contributed over 400 images of structures and places to Wiki commons, while 20 of such images were used to improve articles on Wikipedia.

The purpose of this workshop is to acquaint the students with the overall scope of Wikipedia, its policies and practices. The workshop provided a hands-on training on how to become valuable editors. At the end of the workshop, we organized article writing competition between 28 January 2016 to 28 February 2016.It was also meant to celebrate 15 years of the establishment of Wikipedia within the local Nigerian community.
