The First Term Steering Committee of Wikipedia Asian Month User Group

Term: March 2025 to March 2027, followed by an election system among current committee members.

The StC members will involved in

  • Strategic Guidance: Strategic planning for WAMUG’s annual plan.
  • Decision Making: Approving changes related to finances, timelines, personnel, and tasks.
  • Problem Solving: Assisting in resolving organizational crises.
  • Resource Allocation: Identifying available resources, such as relevant Wiki tools or support from other projects or communities.
  • Oversighting of KPIs, Reports, and Funds: Monitoring project execution, KPI achievement, and financial status.

The StC members will need to

  • Attend monthly Operational Report Meeting
  • Attend Community Relations and Event Management Meeting quarterly but once a month from October to January
  • Present outcomes and news of WAM on other Wikimedia Conferences.

The Qualification of StC members

  • Required:
  1. From Asia.
  2. Have previous experience participating WAM.
  3. No record of global ban, no block on any Wikimedia Projects
  4. English communication ability is necessary.
  • Preferred:
  1. Have organized local WAM campaign
  2. Have experience in governance for at least 1 year
  3. Multilingualism is a plus.

The Special Advisors we welcome

If you do not meet the above essential criteria but are still eager to participate in the WAMUG's administration affairs, we warmly welcome individuals with experience in technical tools, GLAM-related experiences, or other governance roles to join us as Special Advisors.

  • Jan 15th, 2025 to Feb 15th, 2025: Registration
  • Around Mar 15th, 2025: Results Announcement
  • Around the end of Mar 2025: Holding the First meeting of WAMUG StC

We are honored to invite representative Wikimedians who have contributed to WAM to serve as members of the Selection Committee. The committee will select suitable candidates based on past discussions.

Note: The members of the Selection Committee are not eligible to stand for selection in the current Steering Committee.
