Android apps that violate copyleft
Hi all,
Somewhat similar to the "Traveler and Free" case mentioned earlier, I came across a whole set of apps which seem to be replicating content from Wikivoyage and charging money in order to access the same. The app appears to be developed by some "MAPS.ME (CYPRUS) LTD" and has no attribution to Wikivoyage. You could find the app list of apps in the following link: [play store link].
I notified Wikimedia legal but thought of notifying the same here just in case. -- Kaartic [talk] 17:50, 16 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Kaartic did you get any feedback since? --Zblace (talk) 06:35, 19 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Zblace Indeed, I got a response shortly after stating that they'll add the offending app to the list of sites to investigate for systematic license violations. I believe they get to taking action on them at some point of time ː-) -- Kaartic [talk] 17:53, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
