Hi Ricky Setiawan, Congratulations on completing this project. It is wonderful that several new users became active participants in your community through online and offline events, and that inactive editors began contributing again. We have a few questions about your report, and look forward to learning more about your successes and lessons learned.

  • Does ‘New Wikipedian’ mean event participants who create user names, or something else?
  • How did you measure ‘Active Wikipedians’? Do you know if the 42 new active editors participated in your events, or are these new active editors on Bahasa Wikipedia, in general? If 42 of 310 new users who participated in your program have become active editors that is truly impressive 13.5% retention rate. Regardless, it is wonderful to hear that the Bahasa community is growing!
  • Do you have any indication of how many new users who attended you events are still editing? We can assist you in running a report in Wikimetrics if you have a list of usernames.
  • Do you know if new users attended more than one editathons or events?
  • In the future, you need to submit a request on the discussion page of a grant if you will exceed your budget by more than 20% in a category, as happened in the ‘tools’ category. Also in the future, there is no need to report your spending in so much detail.
  • It is fantastic that your team was able to plan so many additional events during this project. Which types of events do you think were the most important for growing the community and increasing the awareness of volunteer contributions to projects?

Yes, the event participants who create user names

Unfortunately not, 42 active Wikipedians in the whole Wikipedia bahasa Indonesia. From https://stats.wikimedia.org/EN/ChartsWikipediaID.htm

Yes, those who are still is in our Facebook user group. I will collect the data if needed, but takes some time (they are not always active on FB).

Yes, same as above, those who are attended more than one event will be invited to our user group on Facebook.

Each has plus and minus. Seminars are good at increasing awareness, but it is so hard to attract people to even register to Wikipedia in the seminar. On the other hand, edit-a-thons are great in attracting new users and convert them into active users, but the participant is limited.
Not directly, but because of Rintis we have enough volunteers to do it, this year we will try to execute it as a side project. Hopefully next year it will be ready.

Hi Ricky Setiawan, thank you for your quick reply to our comments. Do you know how many new or inactive users who participated events became active editors, or began volunteering at offline events? Also, please remember to update on the number of editors who reach the 100 edit mark within 6 months of events when you have that information. We hope this project will help your community continue to grow and look forward to your next grant request. Please retain the $910.00 in unspent funds while you submit your next grant request. Yes, 23. They are in our group, I will start collecting data of their username now. They all active in offline events, but just several who have reached 100 edits. --Ricky Setiawan (talk) 15:18, 19 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
