edit- Please add yourself below if you can't make this event but you'd like to be notified of future events in Brighton
- Can't make this one, as I'm busy that day. Feel free to ping me about future Brighton meetups- definitely would be up for coming down if free. Joseph2302 (talk) 10:38, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

Agenda
editInformal chitchat with no set agenda. If the weather is reasonable, we may go for a walk after lunch to take photos. You can email Harry if you're arriving later and want to know where we are.
If you have some ideas for discussion topics, please put them below.
- en:Booth Museum of Natural History has a new diorama
TwoOne from Hassocks:I have a question about an incorrect link from a Commons category to Wikidata: can't figure out what has gone wrong!A user has fixed it today. Hassocks5489 (talk) 12:50, 1 February 2024 (UTC)- If anybody needs anything from records at the National Archives at Kew – notes made, photos taken of documents etc. – bring the details (catalogue numbers etc.) and let me know. I have two visits booked in the next two weeks. Hassocks5489 (talk) 09:26, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
- Next meetup? How frequently do we want to hold these (perhaps quarterly or bimonthly)? Do we want to alternate with other south coast locations like Portsmouth or Southampton? HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 15:10, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
About the meet up
editA social gathering for Wikimedia enthusiasts, where we...
- Drink coffee and/or beer and possibly have lunch.
- Chat about Wikipedia and any other topics we fancy.
- Go for a walk (weather dependent!) and look at notable local features
Mainly a casual social event. You can expect to meet some very keen Wikipedians, however this is also an open invitation to anyone interested in finding out more about Wikipedia, other Wikimedia projects, projects re-using Wikipedia, and other collaborative wiki projects. Feel free to come along and raise these discussions over a beer. Alcohol consumption is optional.
Look for Wikipedia-themed hoodies or t-shirts. You can email Harry if you're not sure.
Location
editThe Bright Helm is a Wetherspoons pub on West Street, between the railway station and the seafront. The station is just under ten minutes' walk away. West Street is served by many buses heading for the station; many other buses stop within walking distance. Wifi and food are available in the pub.
