Brighton Wikimedia Meetup Number 4

Location: The Bright Helm, West Street, BN1 2RE

The pub is a short walk downhill in an almost straight line towards the sea from Brighton railway station.

Agenda

Informal chitchat with no set agenda. If the weather is reasonable, we may go for a walk after lunch to take photos. You can join whenever you like and stay for as long or as little as you want. You can email Harry if you're arriving later and want to know where we are.

About the meet up

A social gathering for Wikimedia enthusiasts, where

Some of us will drink beer, some will have soft drinks. Some might have lunch.
We chat about Wikipedia and any other topics we fancy
We might go for a walk (weather dependent!) and look at notable local features or move to another pub

Mainly a casual social event. You can expect to meet some very keen Wikipedians, however this is also an open invitation to anyone interested in finding out more about Wikipedia, other Wikimedia projects, projects re-using Wikipedia, and other collaborative wiki projects. Feel free to join us for as long or as little as you like.

Look for Wikipedia-themed hoodies or t-shirts. You can email Harry if you're not sure.

Location and accessibility

The Bright Helm is a Wetherspoons pub on West Street, between the railway station and the seafront. The station is just under ten minutes' walk away. West Street is served by many buses heading for the station; many other buses stop within walking distance. There is a multi-storey car park next door. Wifi and food are available in the pub.

We normally sit upstairs near Table 78 (if available) where it's a bit quieter but if steps are a problem for you, just say and we will make sure we get a table downstairs. There is step-free access to the pub itself. Feel free to reach out or use the talk page if you have any questions.
