Why is this user awesome?
Dr. Blofeld has always been a hard-working contributor to the encyclopedia. He has made 443,176 edits since 14 June 2006, and is an outstanding content contributor. He has 1000 DYKs— more than any other editor. With a mountain of GAs (74), along with a load of FAs, I can't see anything wrong with this user. Blofeld has made 91997 articles, almost triple the amount of any other non-bot editor, and more than any account.

More DYKs than anybody. Great articles. A helpful and calming presence. It is a far far better place because of his presence; and a diminished one because of his absence. 7&6=thirteen () 21:50, 18 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not an admin. Editing for a long time. He has 73,000+ edits. He handles disputes very well, that is a big plus point. Almost every day he gets requests from others for help for suggestions (see his talk page, link above). He is not an admin, but, he is as popular as an admin. Antanana (Ukrainian Wikipedia admin)

edit

Nominated by: Tito Dutta (talk) 03:35, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why is this user awesome?

Non English Wikipedians can be nominated per Wikipedia:Merchandise_giveaways#FAQ

He is a Ukrainian Wikipedia admin. I do not know Ukrainian language or can not even read its alphabet. I have talked with him few times (generally requesting articles in Wikipedia Ukrainian). Firstly, I requested in a Ukrainian admin's talk page, did not get any reply. From there Antanana picked the request and helped me to get that article in Ukrainian Wikipedia. He is a perfectionist by nature. I asked to create an article on Nagarik, he told he wants to watch the film before writing on it. A Ukrainian is watching a Bengali film just to write a requested article, I could not believe that. I have seen (though I can not understand anything in his talk page) he is very helpful, polite to all users.
Add: Antanana is "she", Sorry for the confusion! I did not know! Details --Tito Dutta (talk) 10:33, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Expanding upon the them of unheralded anti-spam workers (see Mean as custard above), this is really a co-nomination for two of the most active editors at WikiProject Spam: Hu12 (talk · contribs) and MER-C (talk · contribs). Merely looking at the edit history of the project talk page (edit stats) and the local MediaWiki spam blacklist (edit stats) shows that without these two editors toiling away in a relatively unnoticed job, we would be inundated with affiliate spam and other junk. Why is this user awesome?

(I was only nominating those who had usernames which appeared to be their names (since the shirts have to be sent to "Real Life People" : )

But now that he's here...

There simply isn't enough space on this page to describe all the great good that User:Hiding has done to contribute to the project.

He started or significantly contributed to many of the policies that we all very much take for granted as "solid" policy.

He is a guiding force in the comics project, and was the main admin helping out there before many of the rest of us were admins. And on that subject, it's at the very least partly due to his guidance that many admins are admins. (He helped me, and subsequently co-nominated me, for instance.)

He is a prolific content contributor, and is who I liked to go to when I have a referencing question.

And even with all of this, he is good natured and a pleasure to collaborate with.

For these and many many other reasons, I think that Hiding is an incredibly awesome Wikipedian : ) - jc37 22:11, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why is this user awesome?
More easily referred to a "Q", Qwyrxian is not afraid to get involved in awkward disputes relating to a wide range of articles, from a certain problematic group of islands through to weird naming issues for schools in Sri Lanka and on to (top marks from me!) numerous caste-related articles. They are around almost daily, they pay attention to what others say in often heated situations, and their responses are invariably both considered and polite. Much of their work is in response to new contributors who are trying to run before they can walk and who often seem not to have English as their first language: Q's approach generally works pretty well. - Sitush (talk) 11:42, 23 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

WLU, with a few other brave souls, keeps his eye on quackery and fringe theories, the wild border-land between ga-ga and reason. He knows his stuff and is willing to do the reading when he doesn't. He's (almost) always patient and thoughtful in his dealings with even the most one-eyed obsessives if there's the remotest possibility they're well-meaning (while never signing up to a suicide pact). Merlissimo is an active editor on several wikis, one of those multilingual people who hold the project together, and one of the ways he does this is by writing code and running Bots. Specifically I came across him when he took a one paragraph design and went off and coded the death anomalies report, he launched the death anomalies on DE wiki and has done most of the work to feed in anomalies from 80 language versions. Including running the bot that produces reports for a dozen different language versions of Wikipedia. ϢereSpielChequers 23:31, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
