It appears there has been a misunderstanding about the blog drafting process (which I just let the Apps team know about independently) - posts are drafted here on Meta: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Blog#Drafting_a_post . That said, you should probably have an account anyway as WMF employee - the LCA team will know. Regards, Tbayer (WMF) (talk) 21:37, 22 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@PiRSquared17: I don't know, to be honest. I can't really tell their current status from their main page. If TransCom is inactive does it mean so are the Translation teams? --WikiBronze [T] 19:53, 17 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • You're free to re-activate the Turkish translation team; I've updated the page with a current list of work to do.
  • Our current focus is Meta-Wiki, not foundationwiki; I've clarified the relevant page.[2] The page already says that a foundationwiki account is not required so I didn't find anything else to correct; in general, the reason why this page is less active is that now most translation coordinators are WMF staff.
  • It's not known what languages they focus on, but that doesn't matter much to you: what's most helpful is recruiting/encouraging translators, assisting them with the interface and other technical stuff and coordinating/double-checking each other on terminology etc. (sometimes via wiki glossaries for the language). You can also use Meta:Babylon/Translation_stats to see how well you're doing. --Nemo 09:11, 21 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Nemo bis: Thanks for your respond & the changes you've done. I will update the page and notice our main translation group to sign up on the team page at once. --WikiBronze [T] 20:22, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hello Zen alrahami. Could you be more specific about what you would like to do on Foundation wiki with account access? (and which extension are you having trouble with?) In terms of translation, as you can see above, we don't usually give access just for that work - what are some of the things you want to do that can't be done here or at translatewiki.net? (Sorry for the late reply - there is some transition between myself and Anna, who was in charge of helping with requests previously :() PEarley (WMF) (talk) 14:44, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks. I must somehow have missed that one. Sooo many links there. --Bjørn som tegner (talk) 07:20, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ouch! You sent me to a new request page. Om Meta that should be quite unnecessary since I have done quite a lot of translations already: Needed: Link to the correct starting point for translation. --Bjørn som tegner (talk) 07:31, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Bjørn som tegner: Try Translation requests/WMF and seek assistance from there  — billinghurst sDrewth 01:18, 22 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tania224, I don't think you're looking for an account on the Foundation Wiki (wmf:Main Page) -- I think you're just looking to continue working on improving Wikipedia. (Thanks for that!) The Foundation Wiki is a pretty esoteric and low traffic site, essentially the corporate face of the Wikimedia Foundation, with info about its board and staff, its policies, etc. This page is just for requesting editing access to that wiki, which many volunteers help out with. -Pete F (talk) 20:09, 10 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Projects where I'm involved: w:en:wikipedia, a few dozen others.
  • E-mail address: bd2412 hotmail.com
  • Reason why I need an account: To provide constructive feedback on Wikimedia activities. To begin with, although I generally appreciate the utility of the Media Viewer, when I click on a picture of a staff member on the staff page, I would expect to be taken to their user page, not to a blowup of that picture. Also, I need a study performed of how non-Wikipedian readers approach disambiguation pages and hatnotes. Other things will surely follow. Cheers! --BD2412 T 19:51, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There's almost no place to provide feedback on the Foundation wiki -- most of that is on Meta, MediaWiki, and the English Wikipedia (also some off-wiki fora such as the mailing lists). If the images were changed to go to the user page, there might be issues with attribution. Other than that, assuming a link to the description page is added, it sounds like a great suggestion for FWF. If you would like to fix some other layout issues you notice, then then might be a valid reason for an account. You don't need to use the Foundation wiki to conduct or request research either. I certainly think you're trusted enough for an account there, but that's a WMF staff decision. PiRSquared17 (talk) 00:43, 6 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    Fair enough. Thanks for the feedback. BD2412 T 19:24, 8 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
BD2412, PiRSquared has covered it, I certainly agree that you are a trusted user - however, we are only activating accounts for very specific purposes, usually content-related (e.g., updating chapter activities/docs). That said, if you have more specific work you'd like to do apart from the above, let me know. PEarley (WMF) (talk) 17:26, 9 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Projects where I'm involved: I have no active project on wiki yet.
  • E-mail address: qu99@hotmai.com
  • Reason why I need an account: I like wiki and I want to be part of it. I am a practicing physician with master degree in tumor biology which make me able to add in both basic science and clinical oncology. I also would like to link my donation to my account rather than registering every time. Thanks

  • Hi. It looks like you are trying to create a Wikipedia account. You can do so here: create account. Even though creating a Wikipedia account is quick and easy (as long as you follow the username policy), you don't even need an account to edit Wikipedia (or any other [public] Wikimedia project for that matter). I don't know what you mean by creating an account to donate, but I am not aware of any way to link Wikipedia usernames to donations (other than actually analyzing collected raw logs, which only certain WMF employees can do anyway). What you requested here is a completely different kind of account (for the Wikimedia Foundation's own wiki, which is located here). Sorry for any confusion. Which profile picture are you talking about? You could also ask at FWF if you want to make just one edit. --Glaisher (talk) 10:50, 18 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. In order for an account on the Foundation wiki, I believe you first have to create an account, rather then just editing as an IP. Cheers! Eurodyne (talk) 03:29, 4 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What you are looking for is Special:CentralAuth/Allen2 and you already have it. Account on WMF wiki is assigned only for some specific purposes. ~ Nahid Talk 18:08, 22 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Allen, firstly, if you think you are going to get an account on the Foundation wiki to bother WMF staff about your blocks, you are very wrong. Staff won't unblock you no matter what. Contact the admin who blocked you in one month. Secondly, as a Nahid said you need it for a specific purpose like updating Wikimedia chapters and such. You probably don't know what that is so, feel free to apply in the future. Do you have another reason why you need an account? Please note read #1 at the top of this page. Eurodyne (talk) 00:26, 23 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Eurodyne: I need Wikimedia Foundation account as I need one in the central future. I created the forum site which is being related to Wikimedia Foundation, so let them respond I have utility management there. In December 9th, I'll be responded by Technical 13 by mail, so I'll make him join Google+. --Allen (talk to me! / ctrb / E-mail me) 00:52, 23 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not staff, but you (1) don't meet criterion #1 (you're blocked on enwiki) and (2) don't even seem to know what a Foundation Wiki account is for (and don't need one). Sorry, but I can almost certainly guarantee staff will decline this request. PiRSquared17 (talk) 00:55, 23 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Allen, PiRSquared17, Nahid and Eurodyne have given good answers here - we really need from you a specific reason you need editing access. PEarley (WMF) (talk) 15:43, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
