#WPWPCampaign2021: Learning and evaluation
editHello Justine Msechu,
Many thanks for participating in the WPWP campaign.
We are glad about the level of participation, this year and we are excited to inform you that over 900 volunteers around the world added photos to more than 250,000 articles in 298 languages Wikipedia. This year, we surpassed the 2020 edition's milestone by over 170%.
We are in the process of evaluating the WPWP campaign this year and we need your help. We'd love to get your feedback. Your feedback will allow us to better meet your expectations for the campaign in the next editions.
Please complete a brief survey so that we may learn about your participation in the campaign, strengths, challenges and your expectations. This information will enable us to improve the next editions of the Campaign.
Follow this link to the Survey:

Movement Charter Drafting Committee Candidacy - additional information
editDear Justine Msechu,
I am reaching out to you in relation to the Movement Charter Drafting Committee candidacy. The main reason for writing this letter is related to ensuring that your profile will be well presented during the upcoming election and selection process.
Request in short:
- Please send us information to strategy2030 wikimedia.org regarding your “main wiki project” and expertise by naming the project and choosing 3 areas of competency from the respective matrix. We kindly ask you to send this information by October 3, 2021.
- Add your proposals for “election compass” statements and be prepared to answer a survey with the upvoted statements.
Main wiki
editTo ensure diversity of the Movement Charter Drafting Committee, there is a limitation in the election process that a maximum of 2 people from the same wiki project can be elected. As a result, we would kindly ask you to define your one main wiki project by writing to strategy2030 wikimedia.org
Expertise
editIn some discussions with the community members it has been highlighted that while it is easier to assess the diversity of the candidates, it is more difficult to understand the expertise and competencies they have. As a result, we would kindly ask you to reflect on this and choose up to 3 top competencies that you would bring to the committee from the 14 mentioned in the expertise matrix.
We kindly ask you to send your response to strategy2030@wikimedia.org and we will add it for you. The reason for this is that we are locking the page for translations and trying to avoid any editing conflicts. I hope it makes sense.
Voting compass
editAs you might have read on other channels, we are also setting up an election compass for people to navigate 73 candidacies for the committee. It works like this: You will see statements that we have asked the candidates to position themselves to (support, neutral, oppose; and some lines of reasoning). The tool asks you to position yourself to these statements. At the end, you will see who of the candidates is closest to you.
This will help to highlight your positioning regarding the key matters to be tackled in the Movement Charter and support people in making an informed decision in the election and selection process. You can consult and add your own thoughts on the statement collection page. If you want to understand what the tool will look like, see the prototype on Toolforge.
There is no action needed from you know, but we will come back to you with a survey in about 10 days time and would kindly ask you to fill it to be well presented in this compass. We truly believe that it is a good way to support people in making sense of all the nominations and hope you see it as an interesting and beneficial approach.
Closing and translating candidate statements
editWe are closing the candidate page on meta to manage the translations. As a result, no further edits to your statements can be made.
Thank you for your time and kind attention! --KVaidla (WMF) (talk) 17:08, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
E-Mail address
editHello! We would like to write you an e-mail, as you are running as a candidate for the Movement Charter Drafting Committee! Please reach out to us via strategy2030 wikimedia.org. Thank you! --Cornelius Kibelka (WMF) (talk to me) 19:22, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
Leadership Development Working Group: Reminder to apply by 10 April 2022
editHello, I'm reaching out to you today as you've previously expressed interest in Movement Strategy and Governance-related topics. I was hoping to share the below message with you and your talk page guests, as the call for applications for this working group ends soon.
The Community Development team at the Wikimedia Foundation is supporting the creation of a global, community-driven Leadership Development Working Group. The purpose of the working group is to advise leadership development work. Feedback was collected in February 2022 and a summary of the feedback is on Meta-wiki. The application period to join the Working Group is now open and is closing soon on April 10, 2022. Please review the information about the working group, share with community members who might be interested, and apply if you are interested.
Thank you in advance for your consideration =) Xeno (WMF) (talk) 01:28, 8 April 2022 (UTC)

Request for deletion for Meta:Let’s Connect Peer Learning Program/About
editDear Justine Msechu,
Please note I have requested the deletion of Meta:Let’s Connect Peer Learning Program/About because it duplicates Let’s Connect Peer Learning Program/About. You may give your viewpoint. -- Pols12 (talk) 13:51, 16 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hello,Thank you for information,
- Let's connect Pear learning program in Tanzania is the program which is under Let's Connect so the mate page about is used because of that, but you can give us a suggestion instead of deleting it so as to be improved.
- Thank you. Justine Msechu (talk) 14:28, 16 November 2022 (UTC)
- I believe you did not understand the issue: actually, there are two distinct /about pages: the first one is in main namespace, whereas the second one is in Meta: namespace. Since they are duplicating themselves, I think we should delete the second one because the page should not be in Meta: namespace. -- Pols12 (talk) 14:39, 16 November 2022 (UTC)
- Ooh sorry now i understand and yes you can delet it. 197.250.103.36 14:59, 16 November 2022 (UTC)

Organising Feminism and Folklore
editHello Community Organizers,
Thank you for organising Feminism and Folklore writing competition on your wiki. We congratulate you in joining and celebrating our cultural heritage and promoting gender equality on Wikipedia.
To encourage boost for the contributions of the participants, we're offering prizes for Feminism and Folklore local prizes. Each Wikipedia will have three local winners:
- First Prize: $15 USD
- Second Prize: $10 USD
- Best Jury Article: $5 USD
All this will be in gift voucher format only. Kindly inform your local community regarding these prizes and post them on the local project page
The Best Jury Article will be chosen by the jury based on how unique the article is aligned with the theme. The jury will review all submissions and decide the winner together, making sure it's fair. These articles will also be featured on our social media handles.
We're also providing internet and childcare support to the first 50 organizers and Jury members for who request for it. Remember, only 50 organizers will get this support, and it's given on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration form will close after 50 registrations, and the deadline is March 15, 2024. This support is optional and not compulsory, so if you're interested, fill out the form here.
Each organizer/jury who gets support will receive $30 USD in gift voucher format, even if they're involved in more than one wiki. No dual support will be provided if you have signed up in more than one language. This support is meant to appreciate your volunteer support for the contest.
We also invite all organizers and jury members to join us for office hours on Saturday, March 2, 2024. This session will help you understand the jury process for both contests and give you a chance to ask questions. More details are on meta page.
Let's celebrate our different cultures and work towards gender equality on Wikipedia!
Best regards,
Rockpeterson
