Amazon

edit

In July 2017, there was a discussion on Wikimedia-l regarding Amazon's compliance with the attribution requirement of Wikipedia's Creative Commons license, when article contents were reused by Amazon's products. Then-Director of Strategic Partnerships Adele Vrana announced on Wikimedia-l that she had reached out to Amazon to clarify the issues. To the best of my knowledge, no further updates were given. Could you please provide an update? This may potentially be a rather sensitive issue, as shortly after this, Amazon donated $1 million to the WMF, and it's important to avoid the appearance of impropriety. --Yair rand (talk) 00:05, 23 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

I agree it's an important topic. Wikimedia Foundation is not in a position to do copyleft enforcement, but it should educate about copyleft. It would be nice to know whether that was attempted, or whether WMF only sounded like a beggar. Nemo 10:04, 23 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

We need your feedback on a tool from the Wikimedia Summit

Reminder: the guide to using Baserow, presented during the Wikimedia Summit.

Hi! I'm contacting you as one of the participants in the Wikimedia Summit 2022, to kindly ask for your feedback through a 5-10 minute survey to evaluate 'Baserow' (note: the survey is on a Google form).

Baserow was a tool through which participants in the Summit co-created a database of Movement Strategy activities. We hope to learn from you how useful it may be to keep using it in the future to help document and connect on Movement Strategy work.

You are welcome and encouraged to fill out the survey in any language. Your feedback would be very appreciated --Abbad (WMF) (talk) 15:37, 16 February 2023 (UTC).Reply
