Unblock request

Unblock request declined

This blocked user has had their unblock request reviewed by one or more administrators, who has/have reviewed and declined this request.
Other administrators can also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason.
Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason: Dear admins, Yes, I agree that i have created multiple accounts and the general rule is one editor, one account. However, i looked around if meta-wiki had a policy regarding legitimate usage of multiple accounts. Turnes out i have found template {{User alternative account}} which linked to the policy on en.wiki but no policy on meta-wiki. I boldly created the accounts in order to not use my main account, without people knowing it was me, since a few users personal attacking on me such as JuniorX2...etc. (I personally didn't think it was abusing, since there were no real sockpuppeting and no real interaction between my accounts.) I now believe, i have had enough time away from (editing) meta-wiki (i still haven't been able to go one day without visiting). Moreover, Being volunteer member of MWUG, I have to update the event pages here on meta-wiki, need to mass messages to the participants, and also taking part on wmf grants. In near future, I have decided to take part on #100wikidays challenge.
I swear; I will not use any other account nor i will create a new one. I hereby ask of you to unblock me. Regards, — TBhagat (talk) 08:04, 14 March 2017 (UTC)

Decline reason: I'm sorry, but while trying to read the whole request below, I cannot in anyway allow this block to be lifted since not only has this user confessed to socking but looking at his edits using his different accounts, he has also been involved in meat-puppeting and may have used his rights to protect himself from being caught on NEwiki. Personally, I would like a Steward to investigate his actions during his time on newiki because this may go further than just a simple block on metawiki, This was an abuse of WMF's Terms of use and thus may need to be investigated further.--Stemoc 02:45, 7 April 2017 (UTC)

Without prejudging the result of this unblock request, which I won't process as I am the blocking admin, IMHO not all of the reasons provided are compelling to request an unblock:
1.- An imported template does not mean that this project allows or does not allow something. This project has a lot of stuff imported or created sitting here for no actual reason.
2.- Being a member of a group and updating a page is not a reason for unblock either.
3.- Willing to participate in an event is not a reason for unblock.
4.- Apologizing for the conduct that caused that you be blocked here is a reason for unblock, the question is, shall we trust when you say that you're sorry? Do you really understand why you got blocked here, and globally locked as well? I'm sorry to say that you said several times that you won't do this or that, but ended doing it nonetheless. Do you believe that such behaviour has changed? Which securities could you offer to us that, in case it is decided to unblock you, you will behave well?
Thank you, —MarcoAurelio 10:46, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
Hmm.. Yeah ! First of all, I must do apologies for my all past bad interactions. I'm so sorry for my behaviours and yes, i understand why i got blocked here, and globally locked as well. Whole world exists just because of believe - I can only say is believe me for this last time, I have acknowledge the things. I will not repeat the past actions and i would like to continue my good works here. So that i am humbly requesting the community members to give me back the access here. Thank you for your all kind consideration. Regards, — TBhagat (talk) 14:04, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
Let me add: The template {{User alternative account}} (and its inverse {{User Alternate Acct Name}}) are there for specifically different purposes. In fact, I use those templates. Mostly, I use the alternative account to see what access looks like in certain situations on wikis where my main account has admin rights. In theory I reserve the right to edit from it (occasionally) if I am near a computer and don't have my 2FA key device with me. But the point of those templates is specifically to disclose such alternate accounts, not to give one license to have an alternate account without disclosure. StevenJ81 (talk) 14:26, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
My two cents, I blocked the user on Test Wiki for vandalism, and they had their sysop bit yanked there by Az1568 for their actions. They were creating vandalism (with a sock) and then cleaning it up themselves (if I remember correctly). Based on what was found that lead to their eventual global lock I blocked them for Abusing Multiple Accounts I know this doesn't have much to do with meta but thought it might provide a perspective that may be needed. --Cameron11598 (talk) 17:11, 15 March 2017 (UTC)

All of this case is very very strange and serious, there are much things which don't make sense at all. Could you explain us what happened? Matiia (talk) 00:08, 16 March 2017 (UTC)

Actually, I've boldly created the accounts (Kaulder, Wiki Mopper) in order to not use my main account, without people knowing it was me. Since, i want to fresh start; some users personal attacking on me such as JuniorX2...etc.. Meanwhile, I were busy in my college exams and someone logged into my main account and done unacceptable behaviors around wikis. I came to know my account has been globally locked for that. And then I've mailed all the matters to stewards and told them to locked my sock puppets. Now, I've finally decided, I'm going to continue my contributions with my main account. In future, I swear; I will not use any other account nor i will create a new one. Moreover, I have also enabled two-factor authentication on my main account. (I'm so sorry for my behaviours and I can only say is believe me for this last time, I have acknowledge the things. I will not repeat the past mistakes and i would like to continue my good works here. So that i am humbly requesting the community members to give me back the access here.) Thank you for your all kind consideration. Regards,TBhagat (talk) 08:18, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
But, Tulsi, you had already two-factor authentication enabled before the supposed 'hack' of your account, which the Foundation did reset. And you say above that you understand the reasons that got you (b)locked but today you tried to fool us at Phabricator to start again with your obsesive rights & hat-collecting spree. I wanted to remain neutral here, but I see to many contradictions. Hence I have to   Oppose this unblock request. —MarcoAurelio 13:22, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
@MarcoAurelio: I guess, you have pretty misconcept about today phab task. Look as per community consensus, i have created that task today (backlog of ne.wiki community, i saw it today and think to sort out) which is proposed to community members by Biplab Anand. By the way, I have not taken part on that and you are saying that i am start again with my obsesive rights and hat-collecting. I am already a admin on ne.wikipedia; Hence, i don't need template editor to be added to my account. I don't mean to hat-collect as well. And i don't know what to tell more. So that i am leaving all that here on community to decide if i should be unblocked or not. Regards, — TBhagat (talk) 13:50, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
I don't think there's any misconcept here. You've tried to use an old vote flooded with sockpuppet votes to revive more rights discussion at maiwiki. And the question about your 2FA irregularities still stands. There are too many shadows here I'm afraid. —MarcoAurelio 15:39, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
In my opinion this user should not have been globally unlocked but should be globally banned. --Rschen7754 18:19, 16 March 2017 (UTC)

You have said I've boldly created the accounts (Kaulder, Wiki Mopper) in order to not use my main account, without people knowing it was me. Since, i want to fresh start; some users personal attacking on me such as JuniorX2...etc.., but the account Kaulder was created 2 years ago and you actively start to use it 5 days after you got locked. Before this, one of the few edits of this account back then is supporting yourself on your request for CheckUser on newiki. I'm shocked to see that you are still trying to lie to us. Matiia (talk) 22:54, 16 March 2017 (UTC)

@Matiia: Hey, I am not lieing. Actually, Priyanka sah is my friend's account; I helped her & She created the account (on 07:57, 8 March 2015) and using it very few and My main account globally locked on 06:56, 10 January 2017. Since then i thought to fresh edit with her account and asked her to give me that account and she is ok. From 02:57, 15 January 2017, I come to handel that account; I have requested rename that account from Priyanka sah to Kaulder. — TBhagat (talk) 04:23, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
You said here that you created the account Kaulder, now you are saying to us that it's an account of one of your friends which got renamed because it's no longer being used by your friend as you wanted to fresh edit despite being recently locked and blocked here on metawiki? Matiia (talk) 03:59, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

Can someone from MWUG comment on whether the user is really being helpful to them and so forth? I think some unblock with topic ban to anything other than WMUG related pages and #100wikidays can be granted in case user really does something useful among the disruption, otherwise I see no point in the unblock in any short term. --Base (talk) 00:50, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

  • Just need to say that- Tulsi is one of the active contributors of MWUG. He is one of the member who contributes here to create event page, mark those pages for translation and sometimes he also involved in writings blogs. From above discussion, it is very clear that he is somehow uses his brain in wrong direction but I still hope he is not supposed to do so. I request you to give him a final chance to move on here. Request reason: Hi there ! First of all, I take my words back whatever i have said here. Then after i want to say is that i don't know what was wrong with me that i came up with huge mistakes that are cross-wiki abuse, abusing accounts, meta-puppeting etc. which comes with violation of WMF's Terms of use. New community space for IdeaLab on Connect

Hi folks. If you're receiving this message, you've contributed to IdeaLab or an Inspire Campaign this year. Thanks for participating to develop ideas and review ones from other Wikimedians.

We are preparing some changes to IdeaLab and Inspire Campaigns. One of these changes is a new community space on Connect, where Wikimedians can find each other based on common activities or skills, and ask questions about the space. You are invited to join this community space for IdeaLab, especially if you would ever consider needing to find contributors with certain skills (like design or project management) or would like to offer your skills to others in our movement. To join, please proceed to Connect/IdeaLab and click on the "Add yourself" button on the right. Thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) 19:53, 21 June 2018 (UTC)

Inspire Campaign on Measuring Community Health

Do you have an idea about how to measure the health of your community? Do you want to review ideas that others have submitted? Through August 10th, we are inviting ideas on how to capture the well-being of Wikimedia communities, in terms of matters like conflict resolution, effective content creation, and being able to contribute in a collaborative environment. Ideas can be focused on either quantitative techniques, such as gathering raw data, or qualitative techniques, like surveying contributors. If you are submitting an idea, guidance is available for how to move your idea into implementation, such as through a grant or starting a Phabricator task to engage with developers.

If you're interested, consider joining the Inspire Campaign. I JethroBT (WMF) 17:14, 13 July 2018 (UTC)

[Wikipedia & Education User Group] Updates: November 2018

Greetings,

Integrating Wikimedia with education is a powerful strategy for the outreach of Wikimedia projects. Realising this concept, a group of leaders promoted this and formed the Wikipedia Education Collaborative. After some time, this evolved to become a user group, officially recognised by the Affiliations Committee in June 2018. The user group had its first board elections earlier in September. In the process to formalise activities and give a shape the user group for long-term sustainability, we are now revamping our processes. Thanks for supporting us during incubation stages, we are now inviting you to formally join the user group by following the instructions on the members' page. Being a member will allow you to be a part of this wonderful collaboration and also do interesting stuff.

Kind regards
On behalf of Wikipedia and Education UG, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 11:44, 10 November 2018 (UTC)

Hi again Tulsi. I wanted to notify you that I will need to delay Project Grant Committee applicant decisions until December 11th due to some limitations in my schedule on the 10th. Thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 19:48, 9 December 2018 (UTC)

Dear Tulsi,

Thank you for your application to join the Project Grants Committee. I appreciate your interest in helping to develop leadership in our movement through grantmaking. Unfortunately, I cannot offer you a role on the committee at this time, in part because I intended to only add a small number of new members for this round. Please feel free to reach out to me at cschilling wikimedia.org if you have any questions about this decision. I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 22:46, 11 December 2018 (UTC)

How did I delete your page am sorry please explain more to me? Peter Uchechukwumerije (talk) 15:16, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

Hi brother can you please explain this media that I opened because I love it?

Request for deletion not reported

Greetings friendly Tulsi Bhagat, I noticed your request on w:ug:لەڭگەر يېزىسى (كورلا شەھىرى). I have nothing to complain about this request. That said, there is no sysop on this wiki. For deletion to be effective, it is necessary to postpone this page on Steward requests/Miscellaneous. It seems to me that it has not been done. It is surely an oblivion.

If this is a misunderstanding, I suggest you read the following. Some links that are useful for the SWMT. I do not know if you know them, so I note them anyway:

I think I'm writing to you some evidence you already know. At least, it reminds you. I postponed your request. Greetings and good continuation. --Eihel (talk) 15:16, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

@Eihel: I completely fail to understand what point you're trying to make. Reporting on SRM isn't required at all, it's just another venue to notify GSs and stewards about the pending deletion requests. Similarly, the -gs and -stewards IRC channels and letting someone know in private can also suffice. Just leave it be, just because there's no record on SRM doesn't mean a GS won't get to it or that a GS wasn't notified at another venue. Please take this into consideration moving forward and I legitimately hope you don't continue to make these sort of unneeded comments. Hiàn (talk)/editing on mobile account. 16:23, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
Hello Hiàn, I also know stewardbots which gives a list of pages nominated for sd. That said, you teach me something, but according to the SWMT page, it remains ambiguous: "2. Report vandals and page deletions at Steward requests / Miscellaneous." I also know that there are other ways to reach the right people, but the request was made more than 2 weeks ago. As I write above, I wanted to kindly inform, nothing more. Best regards.--Eihel (talk) 16:55, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
Truthfully, Eihel, I don't think it's necessary to take a page as truth and take everything it says literally. If it's ambiguous, then all the more reason to not take it as the absolute truth. Hiàn (talk)/editing on mobile account. 17:58, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
I would say Hiàn covered it well but will add that typically GS would patrol these sites and will get to it. 1 page isn't worth an SRM unless it's an attack page or whatsoever which needs immediate deletion (however do take note of oversight cases). I will also like to ask why do you ask for a postponement of the deletion, do you have a reason? Regards, --Cohaf (talk) 16:31, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

Asking this here to avoid feeding trolls on a small project. What is the lock evasion here? I'm afraid I've looked around a bit and can't find it. GMGtalk 12:56, 28 August 2019 (UTC)

@GreenMeansGo: If i understood correctly, AbuseFilter can help you there on enwikiquote. Create some filters, which will avoid that long term abuser to do vandals. Kind regards, — Tulsi Bhagat (contribs | talk) 13:49, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
Ah. No, sorry. I found it. I didn't think it would be so simple as the sock master being named User:Yash gawli. GMGtalk 13:57, 28 August 2019 (UTC)

Tulsi,

Thanks so much for your patience. The rules at Wikimedia have changed (or evolved) over the years. Anyway, regarding File:Brad Mays and Katey Hulihan shooting a scene from "Two Trentons.".jpg, I spend over 2 1/2 years shooting TWO TRENTONS. We had interns working from time to time. It was understood that anything they shot or contributed became my sole property. Unfortunately, I didn't thing ahead sufficiently, hence not release forms. But all materials I have submitted are my exclusive property. I really hope this helps.

The File:Aiden's Butterflies - Aiden & Friend.jpg was a screen shot taken from my movie camera. And File:Brad Mays, shooting a scene from "Road Rage" in NYC.jpg was likewise taken by an intern but given to me.

I'm very sorry for this difficulty.

Please advise further if necessary, and thanks again for your assistance.

regards,

@Evalpor1955: Will you please reply to that mail you have received? Thank you for your understanding. Kind regards, — Tulsi Bhagat (contribs | talk) 13:14, 20 September 2019 (UTC)

Congratulations, Tulsi Bhagat! You now have the rights of an administrator on Meta-Wiki. Please take a moment to read the Meta:Administrators page and watchlist related pages (in particular Meta:Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat, and Meta:Requests for deletion, but also Talk:Spam blacklist and Talk:Interwiki map), before launching yourself into page deletions, page protections, account blockings, or modifications of protected pages. The majority of the actions of administrators can be reversed by the other admins, except for history merges which must thus be treated with particular care. Please feel free to join us on IRC: #wikimedia-adminconnect. You may find Commons:Guide to adminship to be useful reading although it doesn't always completely apply here at Meta. Please also check or add your entry to Meta:Administrators#List of administrators and the Template:List of administrators. You're also allowed to subscribe the metawiki admins private mailing list. Again, congratulations and welcome to the team. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 19:54, 2 November 2019 (UTC)

Request

Hello. Could you perform a history clean on my talk page? 1989 (talk) 06:50, 10 November 2019 (UTC)

@1989: Of course! I will do that for you. Kind regards, — Tulsi Bhagat (contribs | talk) 06:55, 10 November 2019 (UTC)
For the definition, it’s when you delete a page, select the revisions you don’t want present, invert, and then restore. 1989 (talk) 07:04, 10 November 2019 (UTC)
@1989: Oh yeah! That's a good idea. I will keep this in my mind from next time. Please verify if all the revisions are cleaned now. Kind regards, — Tulsi Bhagat (contribs | talk) 07:15, 10 November 2019 (UTC)
The content is still shown. So you’re saying you’re unable to perform it now? It’s not time consuming. 1989 (talk) 07:19, 10 November 2019 (UTC)
@1989:   Deleted. Actually, I already deleted most of the bad revisions so that i told you i will do it from next time. Kind regards, — Tulsi Bhagat (contribs | talk) 07:39, 10 November 2019 (UTC)

MoreMenu gadget on mai.wikipedia

Hello! I see you are very good at English, and are fluent in Maithili. I am the author of MoreMenu, which mai.wikipedia is using. I would like to upgrade it to use the new version. Before I can do this, I need some translations... would you be willing to help? See the list at MoreMenu/Migration#mai.wikipedia. You can edit that page directly with the translations, and then I can update the gadget. Thank you and kind regards, MusikAnimal talk 02:12, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
