We need two banners. 1) One for Bangladesh only (wiki: bnwiki & enwiki) 2) All other countries except Bangladesh (wiki: bnwiki only). --আফতাবুজ্জামান (talk) 17:55, 20 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, we would like a Bengali banner within Bangladesh including enwiki to get more competitors and attract attention more easily. To do so, you have to go to the banner's settings and set Bangladesh as the location and set the appropriate target wikis. --আফতাবুজ্জামান (talk) 21:23, 24 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Here. I don't think anyone will object. --আফতাবুজ্জামান (talk) 21:23, 24 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Comment We have been organizing this contest annually since 2015 and central notice attracted more new editors in the past through this contest. It became a flagship event for bangla community since its inception. The reason for central notice is that we simply want to reach broader Wikimedia users from this region through this contest as they mostly use English language version of Wikimedia projects rather than Bangla. We would like to request normal traffic for the banner. Past banners, CentralNotice/Request/Bangla Wikipedia article contest 2018 and CentralNotice/Request/Bangla Wikipedia article contest 2017. ~ Nahid Talk 10:05, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@আফতাবুজ্জামান and NahidSultan: Created a banner for testing. The text is hardcoded, which means it will show in bn even when banner is enabled on enwiki. I think it's more appropriate to display an English banner on English Wikipedia. Can you please provide English translation of the banner text, so this can be accomplished? Thanks! --Martin Urbanec (talk) 22:30, 28 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Martin Urbanec, If it is not absolutely mandatory to provide an English banner for the English Wikipedia, then we (i talked with other organizer) would like a Bengali banner on enwiki. Since it will only shown in Bangladesh, readability isn't problem. We also need participant who understand Bengali. Bengali banner will easily attract attention of Bangladeshi reader.
And Banner looks good. Please set up another (same) banner for all other countries except Bangladesh (wiki: bnwiki only). Otherwise other half of Bengalis (who lives in West Bengal) won't see this notice. --আফতাবুজ্জামান (talk) 17:00, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I personally don't have a problem with it, just wanted to make sure you want a Bengali banner on enwiki :). Going to set the things up. --Martin Urbanec (talk) 17:22, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Done Created bnwiki_writing_contest_2019_bn_only for bn projects, which is not geo-targeted and bnwiki_writing_contest_2019_global for the rest, which is geo-targeted to Bangladesh. Both make use of the same banner. --Martin Urbanec (talk) 17:29, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Martin Urbanec, After talking with Nahid i updated the image file. Kindly Copy & paste this (in both banners). And Please target mobile device also (both banners). You will be surprised if you see this stats. 90% bnwiki siteviews comes from mobile, same with enwiki siteviews from Bangladesh. Otherwise most readers may miss this notice. --আফতাবুজ্জামান (talk) 18:57, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
