Wikimedia Armenia received a funds allocation in the amount of 58,997,428 AMD in 2014-2015 Round 2. This funds allocation was recommended by the Funds Dissemination Committee on 1 June 2015 and approved by the WMF Board of Trustees on 30 June 2015.

Overview

1. In order to support community review, please provide a brief description of your organization's work in the upcoming funding period that can be used as a summary of your proposal. (This should be about 200 words, and should be easy for anyone to understand.)

Wikimedia Armenia was founded in May 2013 and is a chapter of Wikimedia Foundation. It has the goal of promoting free knowledge and Wikimedia projects, as well as attracting new Wikimedians in Armenia and in the region.

Wikimedia Armenia closely cooperates with educational organizations. The goal of this cooperation is to get individuals involved in Wikipedia Education program and support collaboration between them in a wiki environment. In order to attract and involve more professionals of different educational and scientific institutions, WM AM started a new project called "Wiki loves Science"․ To spread the wiki culture among more communities, WM AM began establishing Wikiclubs, which will allow us to implement Wikipedia Education Program and other projects outside the capital over the next few years.

One of the goals of WM AM this year is the establishment and development of Western Armenian Wikipedians' community, in order to improve the article quality in Western Armenian, as well as find possible ways to open Western Armenian Wikipedia.

• 1- Wikimedia Armenia has three PEGs WM AM 2014 Annual grant (funded on 25 August 2014) and Wiki Camp 2015 (funded on 24 March 2015) but the fund of the latter we haven't received yet.

4. Please explain your organization's rationale if your revenues or total annual expenses will change significantly this year.

• WM AM applies for APG for the first time. We plan to continue all our projects and programs started in 2014-2015. However, there is definite change in the amount of requested money compared to the amount requested by Annual grant. The reason is we want to hire 2 staff (each 0.5 FTE) in 2015-2016 - Program manager and administrator. We also budgeted money for operating activities which was previously covered by Intellectual Renaissance Foundation.

Community engagement

1. Which Wikimedia community or communities does your organization work with most closely, and which online Wikimedia project or projects does your organization's work support?

• Wikimedia Armenia works closely with Armenian-language Wikimedia communities (both Eastern and Western Armenian) and is focusing mainly on Armenian Wikipedia community. From the beginning of this year we work also on the projects which promote the development of Armenian Wiktionary and Armenian Wikisource.

2. How does your organization know what community members / contributors to online projects need or want? Does your organization conduct needs assessments? How else does your organization consult the contributors and volunteers most involved with its work?

• Wikimedia Armenia organizes regular meet-ups with Armenian editors of Wikimedia projects, as well as with the organization members, during which we discuss the needs of the community, what we need for further development of our community, whether we are on the right way or no, etc. Besides these in-person meetings, different discussions are held via WM AM mailing list which is one of the main ways of informing the editors about WM AM ongoing projects.

Digitization

To increase the number of Armenian fiction and non-fiction books available in Armenian Wikisource through digitizing and making OCR.

SMART objectives:

• Digitize at least 90 Armenian books (80 in current annual grant) by July 1, 2016.
• Increase the number of active editors in Armenian Wikisource from 37 to 55.
• Proofread at least 20 books in Armenian Wikisource by July 1, 2016.
• Increase number of pages created in Armenian Wikisource to make digitized books more available.
• Use at least 30 of these books for other programs.
• Increase the reach and awareness of free content and Wikisource in Armenia.

In September 2011 Armenian Encyclopedia Publishing House in cooperation with Information Technology School foundation signed an agreement under which the publishing house will allow circulation of its publications under Creative Commons BY-SA 3. In 2013-2014 almost all encyclopedias of these publishing house were digitized including Soviet Armenian Encyclopedia (13 volumes), Armenian Question encyclopedia (Armenian and Russian versions), Armenian Nature encyclopedia, Household encyclopedia, Popular medical encyclopedia, Armenia encyclopedia, Karabakh liberation war encyclopedia, Armenian short encyclopedia, Armenian diaspora encyclopedia and many others. These encyclopedias serve as a reliable sources for other projects of WM AM, especially for Education Program and Wikicamp.

In 2014 Annual Grant WM AM started a separate program - digitization. WM AM will purchase a DIY scanner this year. With the help of volunteers and on the base of authors' list, whose works are in public domain (which is still in the process of creation), WM AM will start digitizing books, which are never digitized and are not available in the Internet. Part of these books will be helpful in other programs (Education Program, Wiki Loves Science, Wiki Clubs, GLAM). Digitization helps also to make electronic versions of materials given by GLAM institutions. Besides digitizing new editors in proofreading process will be involved, number of Armenian Wikisource editors will be increased.

Educational Programs

• Sustain and increase the reach of wiki movement and educational projects in the regions of Armenia.
• Enlarge number of schools which are involved in educational projects from current 16 to 24 by July 1.
• Maintain number of schools currently participating in Wikipedia Armenia Educational Programs - at least 10 of 16 by July 1.
• Increase number of new articles created or improved in Armenian Wikipedia from current 30,700 to 40,700 by July 1.
• Increase number of new articles created or improved in Armenian Wiktionary from current 2,710 to 10,710 by July 1.
• Increase number of Education program participants from current 300 to 400 by July 1.
• 50 participants survived 6 months after the registration (i.e. made 1 edit).
• 30 participants editing 6 months after the registration (i.e. made 5 edits).
• 10 participants will organize local events in their communities (currently they are 7) by July 1.

Educational programs are of great priority of Wikimedia Armenia. Currently we have 16 schools in Yerevan and different regions of Armenia, participating in Wikipedia Education program. We aim to add more schools to the program, in order to build a knowledgeable society, in the mechanics of becoming a wiki editor, and build up a community of future contributors to wiki. Our experience indicates that once the "wiki culture" penetrates a school, there is little needed by the Wikimedia volunteers to maintain the enthusiasm. The students and teacher staff sustain the program.

Contrary to what we see in other countries, today, the most active contributors within Armenian Wikipedia are high school students. Wikimedia Armenia began its education program in late 2013 with only one school - AYB. Since these year around 300 editors from high schools have joined to our program who have created and improved more than 30,700 articles in Armenian Wikipedia, 2,710 entries in Armenian Wiktionary and continue their active participation well passed their assigned courses.

Wiki Loves Science

To attract professionals in Wikipedia editing and keep their activity sustained, in order to enrich Wikipedia with high-quality scientific educational content.

• Attract and involve more professionals by organizing 20+ different workshops in different educational and scientific institutions.
• Number of newly registered editors during workshops 80, 10 of which will be active editors by July 1.
• Number of stub articles created during workshops - 40
• Organize 8 edit-a-thons each month from September-November, January-April
• About 28 participants in each edit-a-thon
• 400 high quality articles created and improved during edit-a-thons, 4 of which will be good and featured articles.
• 1000 middle quality articles created and improved during Wiki Loves Science program, out of edit-a-thons by July 1.

In October 2014 Wikimedia Armenia announced “Wiki loves science” long-term project-marathon which was aimed at enriching the Armenian Wikipedia with popular science and educational content by involving more scientists, scholars, professors and students in Wiki movement. In the framework of this project, which is still in the process, about 20 workshops were organized with about 120 young scientists and students from different educational institutions of Armenia. In order to teach Wikipedia editing basics more deeply 4 edit-a-thons/workshops were organized in Aghveran. Since that about 1800 quality articles have been created and improved. WLS consists of two main parts (see logic map):

• Workshops to involve more participants.
• Edit-a-thons for editors, when quality articles are created and newbies improve their editing skills with the help of other editors.

Wikiclubs

Wikienthusiasts of Arevatsag Wiki club

With the creation of active wikiclubs, we will expand our membership and spread the wiki culture among more communities living in residences other than the capital. The expanded membership will allow us to implement Wikipedia Education Program and other projects in the regions of Armenia over the next few years.

SMART objectives:

• Spread Wikipedia Education program and involve more schools.
• Establish 5 new wikiclubs (currently we have 7) by July 1.
• Maintain 5 wikiclubs from the existing 7 by July 1.
• Increase number of persons attending each wikiclub per month from 350 (7 clubs x 50 editors in a month) to 600 (12 clubs x 50 editors in a month) by July 1.
• Increase number of workshops organized in each wikiclub per month from 105 (7 clubs x 15 workshops in a month) to 180 (12 clubs x 15 workshops in a month) by July 1.
• Maintain interactions with the clubs already established, and maintain enthusiasm to train and attract newcomers by WM AM visit each clubs 2 times by July 1.

Wikiclubs develop and enrich Wikimedia projects, which in its turn impacts on the education of the participants

In addition to the 7 existing Wikiclubs in Yerevan, Gyumri, Aparan, Ashtarak, Yeghvard, Arevatsag and Lernapat, we are going to establish Wikiclubs in 5 new cities, specifically in Stepanakert (NKR) and in the regions of Armenia.

In order to involve schoolchildren and adults in the editing process of Wikipedia and its sister projects, WM AM establishes Wiki clubs all over Armenia where people study and edit Armenian articles in their free time with the help of an experienced wikipedian. Establishing Wiki clubs is especially vital in the villages, where people in particular schoolchildren, do not have many interesting pastimes. On Wikipedia and its sister projects everyone can create and edit articles, and meanwhile acquire knowledge. With the help of clubs the learning process is accompanied with pleasant companionship, great enthusiasm and love. Wikiclub is a kind of a festival for children. Schoolchildren participate in Wikipedia by typing texts, paraphrasing source texts, or translating from Russian, English and other languages. As a result, in addition to overall development they also develop their knowledge of foreign languages.

The way a Wikiclub is established: WM AM arranges with a village Council to provide a space, then with the help of a sponsor computers, Internet connection are provided, the furnishing of the room is done and Wiki club starts to operate (See Arevatsag village example). After establishment of a Wiki club in the village, the majority of inhabitants are involved in the editing process with great excitement.

Wikipedia in Western Armenian

To introduce Western Armenian as a language in Wikipedia.

SMART objectives:

• Involve 25 Western Armenian speakers in the editing process by June 30, 2016.
• 5 new active and long-term Western Armenian editors (currently Wikipedia has 4 active editors).
• Create and improve 500 articles in Western Armenian by June 30, 2016 (there are 1200 articles in Western Armenian now).
• Involve at least 2 teachers from Diaspora in Wikipedia Education Program by April 2016. Wikiprojects as a tool of education were never used in Diaspora communities. However, 33 Syrian-Armenian students participated in Wiki Camp 2014 two term camp, where they edited Wikipedia in Western Armenian.
• In order to open separate Wikipedia for Western Armenian, find possible ways to get ISO code for Western Armenian.

WM AM president Susanna Mkrtchyan had an exploratory visit to Lebanon on 9-15 March. She met different representatives from Armenian Diaspora. In this photo she introduced WM AM program at Pan-national educational council.

Western Armenian is one of the two standardized forms of Modern Armenian, which is mainly spoken in Armenian Diaspora communities. This program will be the continuation of the "Wikipedia in Western Armenian" in the second half of 2015. In 2014 December WM AM was funded by Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian (Calouste Gulbenkian foundation) for its "Wikipedia in Western Armenian" program. This program aims to establish and develop Western Armenian Wikipedia community, in order to improve the article quality in Western Armenian.

• New 8 editors, Western Armenian speakers from Armenian Diaspora communities were involved in editing including USA, Lebanon, Syria, Canada as well as Armenia.
• By the efforts of these editors more than 700 Western Armenian articles were improved, language style and spelling was corrected, a separate tree of categories in Western Armenian was created.
• 30,000 USD grant was funded by Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian (Calouste Gulbenkian foundation) for "Wikipedia in Western Armenian" project to establish and develop Western Armenian Wikipedia community.
• An exploratory visit to Lebanon was done to assess the possibility of Wiki Camp implementation in the country.
• Negotiations were done about the possibility to organize a Wikicamp for Western Armenian speakers in Lebanon.
• In April, 2015 10 teachers from Armenian Diaspora communities will be trained to create local wiki communities in Armenian schools of Diaspora.
• 15 students will participate in Wikicamp 2015.

Wiki loves monuments

To represent Armenian cultural heritage by a large number of free-licensed photographs in Wikimedia Commons.

SMART objectives:

• Promote free-content and free-knowledge in Armenia,
• Promote historic preservation in Armenia.
• A large number of free-licensed photos of Armenian architectural and cultural heritage will be available in Wikimedia Commons (current list includes app. 25,000 official monuments), the number of photos uploaded will increase from 23,919 to about 33,919 (10000+ files) by October 1.
• During the contest we expect to have 100+ participants (we had 176 in 2013)
• 200 new Armenian-heritage-related articles in Wikipedia will be created during and after the project (500 was created in 2013-2015) by July 1.
• About 300 photos used in Wikipedia articles during and after the contest (1000 photos were used in 2013-2015)

Wiki Loves Monuments is an international photo contest for monuments, organized by Wikipedia community volunteers with the help of local Wikimedia affiliates. Participants take pictures of local historical monuments and upload them to Wikimedia Commons.

WLM Armenia calendar, printed in 2014

In 2013, Armenia took part in Wiki loves Monuments contest for the first time. The contest was organized and coordinated in Armenia by Wikimedia Armenia. Earlier Armenian Parliament had already amended Armenian law on copyright to allow freedom of panorama in Armenia by the initiative of WM AM. Nagorno Karabakh also joined Wiki loves Monuments contest with Armenia. But as there is no FoP in Nagorno-Karabakh, it was taken photos of monuments whose architect died before 1944.

Armenia has about 25,000 state-registered monuments. Most of these are not widely known; many are hidden in forests, mountains and rocks, and some are unfortunately endangered. Armenian participants of the contest faced the challenge to find monuments in the lists, photograph them and upload them to Wikipedia Commons (for most of the participants it was their first time to contribute to any Wikimedia project). During September 2013 WLM press conference, photo-walks and workshops were organized in various Armenian cities and towns.

The Armenian participants of Wiki Loves Monuments submitted 23,920 photographs. Armenia gained the 4th place among the countries that participated with respect to number of pictures uploaded and came after Poland, Germany and Ukraine. Among the top 100 uploaders submitting the largest number of photographs 9 were from Armenia; 6 of the uploaded more than 1,000 photographs each, and two others - users Vahag851 and Arman musikyan uploaded more than 4,000 each. Wikimedia Armenia wants to organize WLM this year as well, to enrich Wikimedia Commons with free licences photos of our historical sites and monuments.

International involvement

To participate in international conferences, cooperate with other wiki communities in order to share experience and get involved in international wiki movement. Learning from experience of other chapters and communities is an important part of WM AM strategy.

SMART objectives:

• Organize a cooperation between Georgian and Armenian Wikipedia communities in Autumn 2015 on the base of experience used in Estonian-Armenian and Ukrainian-Armenian cooperation projects. Articles օn Georgian and Armenian history, culture, geography etc. lack in both Wikipedias. This cooperation will make two Wiki communities closer and will promote improvement of articles. 2 winners from each country will win a prize to visit the neighbour country for 5 days. The prize will motivate participants on the one hand, and will be a way of cultural exchange on the other hand. Moreover, winners will meet Wiki communities bring new ideas on further and closer collaboration.
  • Have at least 25 participants in Georgian-Armenian cooperation. (Estonian-Armenian cooperation, in instance, had 30 editors - 17 from Armenia and 13 from Estonia)
  • Have 2 winners from each country (Estonian-Armenian cooperation had 1 winner from each country)
• 2 participants at Wikimania 2015.
  • Susanna Mkrtchyan from Wikimedia Armenia prepared a submission for Wikimania 2015 on Main principles of organizing Youth Wiki Camps and their impact on Wiki movement, education and contribution. She and other participant will discuss the organization of a Wiki Camp, main principles and challenges of preparation. In Wikimania 2014, London Wikicamp was recognized as the coolest project of the year.
• 2 participants at WM CEE 2015.
  • WM AM participants at WM CEE 2014 moderated 2 sections "Freedom of panorama", "WikiCamp" and co-moderated "How to organize a workshop/training", "Gender gap" sections at CEE. At WM CEE 2015 WM AM participants will share experience as well, learn from the experience of other countries of Central and Eastern Europe, where situation of wiki movement is similar to that of in Armenia.
• 2 participants at WM CON 2016.
  • WM AM participants will learn about strategy processes in Wikimedia organisations, staff management, grantmaking and funds, community liaisons, orientation for newcomers to the Wikimedia movement, share good practices for quality management of different programs etc.
• 1 participant at Wikimedia Educational Conference 2015.
  • 16 schools and over 150 active editors participate in Armenian Wikipedia Education program. To improve these results and to involve education through wiki more effectively, WM AM need to learn from the experience of other countries. Wikipedia Educational Conference is one of the best ways to do it.

WM AM has successfully organized two cooperation projects - Ukrainian-Armenian and Estonian-Armenian cooperation. During the cooperation wiki editors from both Wikipedias are supposed to create articles on the other countries' history, culture, geography etc. The goal is to create as much articles about each other as possible, to improve existing ones, thus enriching Wikipedias with quality content. 30 editors took part in Estonian-Armenian cooperation - 17 from Armenia and 13 from Estonia. 422 articles were created and improved in Armenian Wikipedia about Estonia and 106 articles in Estonian Wikipedia about Armenia. According to the agreement between Wikimedia Armenia and Wikimedia Estonia after the project completion the most active wiki editors from Armenia and Estonia travelled to the country about which they had been writing.

Community Support

To sustain active Armenian speaking wiki community (i.e. Armenian Wikipedia, Wiktionary, Wikisource) and involving new editors.

Wikipedia Conference

The Project goals are to aid in the development and promotion of wiki-projects, free knowledge and open network culture in Armenia and its region, as well as to bring together new and experienced wiki editors and provide an environment for them to share their experiences and knowledge with each other. The Project goal is also to create campuses of local active wiki medians, to collaborate with different institutions in Armenia in order to encourage Wikimedia Armenia projects activities.

SMART objectives:

• Increase the reach of wikiprojects in Armenia and its regions.
• Sustain and increase number of active editors in Armenian Wikipedia from 500-650 (now it is 500-550).
• Sustain and increase number of active editors in Armenian Wiktionary from 40-55 (now it is 40).
• Sustain and increase number of active editors in Armenian Wikisource 150-200 (now it is 100-150).
• Involve 100 new editors in wikiprojects.
• Have 100 participants in the conference (we had about 300 participants in the previous 2 conferences).
• Start to cooperate, involving 2 new organizations.

The main goal of this event is to make Wikipedians gather together outside the virtual world, which is very important. In addition, to make them more active both on Wikipedia and in other projects of Wikimedia Armenia.

SMART objectives:

• Sustain Armenian speaking Wikicommunities.
• Have 150 participants in Wikipedia Day in 2016 (during previous 2 events we had 150).

Workshops

The goals of the workshops are to involve newbies in wikimedia projects, sustain current editors and deepen their wikiediting skills.

• Involve new editors from Yerevan and from the regions in wikiediting process.
• Increase number of workshops organized in Yerevan from the current 30 to 42.
• Increase number of workshops organized in Yerevan from the current 7 to 14 (in wikiclubs, etc.).

The awareness about Wikipedia and other wiki projects highly increased by "One Armenian, one article" project and its promotional videos (1st video, 2nd video), where government ministers, musicians and journalists ask Armenians to write at least one article each to enrich Wikipedia.

Wikimedia Armenia has already organized 2 wiki conferences in Yerevan in 2012 and 2013. WikiConference Yerevan 2012 was the first international conference of Wikipedians in Armenia which took place on September 8-9. WikiConference Yerevan 2013 was the second international conference in Armenia. It was held in American University of Armenia from 5-6th October. We had speakers from USA, Czech Republic, Germany, France, Ukraine and Armenia. We did very big step in path to achieve our goals. See more details in Wikimedia Armenia October report, 2013. WM AM is planning to organize Wikipedia Conference 2015 later this year.

Each year in January Armenian wikicommunity celebrates Wikipedia day. On January 17, 2015 Armenian Wikicommunity gathered together to celebrate Wikipedia day. The event was organized in AYB high school of Yerevan. About 100 people joined to celebrate Wikiday among which there were editors, Wikipedia Education program students and just people who wanted to share our happiness.

Every Saturday Wikimedia Armenia organizes open workshops-edit-a-thons in WM AM office. Anyone interested in wiki projects, Wikipedia, wiki editing and needing assistance, as well as wiki editors, who want to edit in pleasant atmosphere can participate in these workshops. About 13 people participate in each workshop. Among them there are also active wiki editors of hywiki who help to conduct the workshops. Besides to involve new editors from the regions and to sustain already existing ones we want to organize workshops there as well.

In regions where we have organized workshops, there are editors, who became permanent contributors. We have agreements with local organizations to collaborate in wiki movement. To maintain this situation, and moreover, to increase amount of editors and wiki activities in the regions, we have to continue activities outside Yerevan, until the local groups will become self-sufficient in workshop organizing.

GLAM

To continue working with GLAM institutions, promote the release of photos, texts and data under free licenses, and establish cooperation with new ones.

SMART objectives:

• Continue to work with National Library, Matenadaran and little museums, establish collaboration with 3 new GLAM institutions by July 2016.
• Create and improve 200 articles on the base of materials given by GLAM partners.
• 6 workshops organized in GLAM institutions, during which participants will learn about wiki movement and wiki projects, learn editing basics. Have at least 20 participants.
• 2 books released under free licenses.

In 2014-2015 cooperation was established between Wikimedia Armenia and Matenadaran (Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts). Within this cooperation 2 workshops were organized - first one was on March 5 which was an introduction of Wikipedia. An agreement was made according which Matenadaran would host more wikieditors on March 15 during which they will organize a workshop for Matenadaran employers and an excursion was organized in Ancient Manuscripts Institute for wikieditors. This cooperation is in process, we are finding ways to fasten the cooperation. Wikimedia Armenian and National library of Armenia signed a contract on 12th June, 2014 to support the share and creation of scientific educational Armenian content, provide free knowledge by Wikimedia projects. National library released all its copyright materials under Creative Commons BY-SA 3.0 and will provide these and other free license materials to Wikimedia Armenia to digitize and use in Wikimedia projects. This is our primary resource of books for digitization program. Some other cooperation was made including Armenian Medical Museum, Charents Museum of Literature and Arts etc. This program will help to find new ways and possibilities of cooperation with GLAM institutions, involve new GLAM partners and will support the release of GLAM institution data under free licenses.

Wikicamp

Summer Wikicamp Vanadzor, 2014 flash mob

Summer and Winter Wikicamps' main goal is the education, deepening wiki editing and translation skills of participants through contributing in Wikipedia, Wiktionary and other Wikimedia Projects. It encourages very active student wikipedians from Armenian Wikipedia Education Program and attract newcomers from different cities of Armenia, thus increasing the reach of wiki movement and Wikipedia Education Program in the regions of Armenia. Due to the camp Wikipedia, Wiktionary, Wikisource and Commons are enriched with quality content.

SMART objectives:

• Sustain the current participation of 200, 100 participants in both camps correspondingly. This will be done by encouraging our Wikipedia Education Program best students, recruiting new editors from high school students, promoting volunteering among students and experienced editors.
• 60% of participants survived 1 year after the camps (now it is 55 %)
• Increase reach of wiki movement in Armenia and NKR. This will be done by the help of new editors and by the involvement of 2 schools in Wikipedia Education Program. Increase number of involved cities with 3, with the aim of founding wikiclubs there (See Education program for details).

Summer wikicamp

• 6,000 articles created or improved in Armenian Wikipedia mostly translated from Russian or English Wikipedias (6600 articles were created and improved during previous camps).
• 6,600 entries created in Armenian Wiktionary (576 articles were created during previous camps).
• 300 new articles in Western Armenian (800 articles were created during previous camps).
• 2,000 pages proofread in Armenian Wikisource (0 pages were proofread during previous camps).
• 13,000,000 bytes added to wiki projects (25,963,020 bytes were added to wiki projects during previous camps).
• 500 files uploaded in Wikimedia Commons (Armenian words pronunciation) (0 Armenian words pronunciations were uploaded during previous camps).

Winter wikicamp

• 1,200 articles created or improved in Armenian Wikipedia mostly translated from Russian or English Wikipedias.
• 800 entries created in Armenian Wiktionary.
• 100 pages proofread in Armenian Wikisource.
• 50 files uploaded in Wikimedia Commons (Armenian words pronunciation).
• 3,000,000 bytes added to wiki projects.
• 40 participants survived 6 months after the event.

Workshop in Winter Wikicamp

Summer and Winter wikicamps are organized for 14-20 years old students of Armenian Wikipedia Education program.

• Summer camp - 2 terms (14 days each).
• Winter camp - 1 term (5 days).

Wikimedia Armenia has successfully organized 3 wikicamps - 2 Summer wikicamps (see Summer camps grant and grant report and 1 Winter wikicamp (see Winter wikicamp report in WM AM interim report under "Educational projects" section). Summer Wikicamps project was recognized as the coolest project of the year at Wikimania 2014, London. See also blogpost about Wikicamp on Wikimedia blog, organized by WM AM. In 2015 WM AM will also organize a Summer camp in 2 terms (June, August, for more details see the grant).

Wikicamps increase reach of wiki projects in the regions of Armenia and in Armenian Diaspora. There are usually Wikicampers from many cities of Armenia as well as Armenians from Diaspora. With the help of these participants we spread wiki ideas and wiki editing in their home cities by organizing wiki workshops in their schools and universities afterwards.

The supreme body of Wikimedia Armenia is the General Assembly, which has a right to make a final decision on any question related to the activities of the Organization. WM AM consists of a Board and the President. The Board has 6 members.

The administrative employer's responsibilities:

• Set up and maintain electronic and paperwork for WM AM and its programs;
• Responsible for the administrative organization of wiki workshops, seminars, meetings and events (including preparation of invitations, agenda, travel booking, etc.);
• Support external communications including (but not limited to) the general public, local and international NGOs, the media, etc.

The program manager's responsibilities:

• Lead operational implementation of WM AM projects and manage relations with different organizations and individuals to attract interest for the projects goal;
• Structure and coordinate WM AM projects activities, etc;
• Guid volunteers in their work.
