Activities

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. What will you and other organizers spend your time doing?

  • We have plans to organize 3 photowalks or photorides per month in several places or national parks in Nepal to capture photographs of birds.
  • We have plans to run a session about identifying birds species, which will mentor by expertise from Bird Conservation Nepal.
  • We have plans to collaborate with a highly expertise birds photography and research group (Friends of Birds) from Nepal.

How will you let others in your community know about your project (please provide links to where relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions)? Why are you targeting a specific audience?

  • First of all, as per we promised, we avoid the use of paper promotion with the ultimate tagline of 1 ream of paper = 6% of a tree and 5.4kg CO2 in the atmosphere, 3 sheets of A4 Paper = 1 liter of water To acquire couple of thousands pictures we can’t sacrifice hundreds of trees to waste. So, we started a new innovative phase to achieve our goals throughout:
    • Rigorous Emailing
    • Social Medias
    • Tell- A friend
    • Central Notice across Wikimedia projects
    • Village pump of my community
    • Media Coverage in Nepali Online News
  • We also reached to Bird Conservation Nepal and notified about our Project. BCN provided us the recorded checklist of birds found in Nepal.
  • We organized an outreach program at a bird watching and winter bird counting event and introduce Wiki Loves Birds to them.
  • Friends of Birds are the best to collaborated with since they are involved and working in the field of birds conservation in Nepal and connected with BCN.

What will you have done at the end of your project? How will you follow-up with people that are involved with your project?

At the end of Wiki Loves Birds, we will have uploaded photographs of birds found Nepal in Wikimedia Commons and improved articles about birds of Nepal in Wikipedia.
for follow up
I will keep in close contact with the persons involved in my project through several Social media Groups chat.
