My apologies for hijacking this. If anyone with a camera should be passing down Trumpington Street, at the end the the Fitz furthest away from Peterhouse main gate, then I'd be grateful if they could take and upload a photo of the William Stone Building. I'm struggling to find a suitably licensed one and the ones in my own possession are very faded > 30-year old efforts. Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 11:45, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sitush, isn't that building on private ground? From google maps [1] it looks like the trees block the view from the west, so it looks like someone would need to gain access via the private road off Trumpington Street and go to the Scholars Garden for a shot. Also as a student residence people might be a bit dubious off people taking pictures for privacy reasons. Maybe someone could contact one of the flickr users with pictures and ask them to change the licence (i.e. this or this). Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 16:50, 1 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The tower is also visible from the en:Cambridge University Engineering Department, if anyone has access. Pity I just saw this request — could've photographed it yesterday! cmɢʟeeτaʟκ 15:21, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There is no privacy concern for an external shot. You can walk to it, using the road between the Fitz and St Peter's Terrace to enter the Scholars Garden in which the WSB is situated. The grounds are private but the college do not generally have a problem with the public wandering around them. You can actually walk right through the Garden, the Deer Park and then cut through the Screens (no-one will mind) into Old Court. They limit access during exam time and they are not keen on people being inside the buildings but that is about it. If needs be, I could arrange for some sort of formal permission to enter (I studied there) and it could be picked up from the porter's lodge, but it really is not necessary. The one building that they don't have a problem with people entering is the chapel, and the windows in that are amazing. If the doors from the Screens to the Hall are open then that is also worth a look, but just stand inside them rather than wandering all down the thing. - Sitush (talk) 19:27, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, this is a really long shot but I might find my way down from North Wales, where I'm likely to be based at the time. It would be a long journey, there and back, but I might have the time and might be able to drum up the petrol money. I've also got health issues at the moment but if I do get there then I could probably give a tour for anyone who might be interested: you might get to see some things that usually would be off-limits. The only camera I've got is in my mobile, though, so someone with more ability and a semi-decent piece of kit would be nice. I long since retired my Nikon and Olympus 35mm SLRs! - Sitush (talk) 00:49, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I won't get there, sorry. I have sniffles manflu. - Sitush (talk) 00:50, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Got it:

Someone please add it to a category and the article. And Wikidata. --Magnus Manske (talk) 14:12, 8 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks very much for that. I've categorised and add to the article but I've never even looked at Wikidata. Hope you enjoyed the meet. - Sitush (talk) 17:12, 8 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
