Welcome to Meta!
editHello SusikMkr, and welcome to the Wikimedia Meta-Wiki! This website is for coordinating and discussing all Wikimedia projects. You may find it useful to read our policy page. If you are interested in doing translations, visit Meta:Babylon. You can also leave a note on Meta:Babel or Wikimedia Forum (please read the instructions at the top of the page before posting there). If you would like, feel free to ask me questions on my talk page. Happy editing!
Translate some names for hundreds software projects including MediaWiki
editHello, I'm writing you because you subscribed to a Language support team. As you know, Wikimedia projects exist in almost 300 languages; supporting them all is a big effort so we partner with other organisations. One small but visible thing we miss is that many interwiki links in sidebar (among others) don't offer a translation of the language name when hovered. We're now able to translate 100 more language names in your language.
If you're interested, I can create you an account to submit translations on the CLDR web tool (within June 14): please send an email to ask one and I'll follow up with instructions. On CLDR you can translate and tweak many other things, if you desire; your work will impact hundreds of software projects. Thanks, Nemo 17:58, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
Note from GAC member
editDear SusikMkr, I'm wondering if you (or David Saroyan) could spare a moment to discuss the digitization part of your submission to the GAC (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:PEG/WM_AM/2014). If so, please write to me at ido[at]wikimedia[dot]org[dot]il or ping me at my userpage (I prefer e-mail). I just think I might advise you better regarding the scanner. Cheers!
Inspire Campaign on content curation & review
editI've recently launched an Inspire Campaign to encourage new ideas focusing on content review and curation in Wikimedia projects. Wikimedia volunteers collaboratively manage vast repositories of knowledge, and we’re looking for your ideas about how to manage that knowledge to make it more meaningful and accessible. We invite you to participate and submit ideas, so please get involved today! The campaign runs until March 28th.
All proposals are welcome - research projects, technical solutions, community organizing and outreach initiatives, or something completely new! Funding is available from the Wikimedia Foundation for projects that need financial support. Constructive feedback on ideas is welcome - your skills and experience can help bring someone else’s project to life. Join us at the Inspire Campaign to improve review and curation tasks so that we can make our content more meaningful and accessible! I JethroBT (WMF) 05:39, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Hello there! Please, do assume good faith :) You have not posted your answers to some questions, like:
- Affiliate-selected Board seats/2016/Questions#Meeting minutes
- Affiliate-selected Board seats/2016/Questions#Making the WMF a membership organisation
The voting starts today, so it is better to have everything done as soon as possible. I do want to hear your opinion on the questions you have missed, and I am going to ask this from every candidate, as it is important to understand how a future Trustee (and technically any of us can be elected) treats this or that issue, to know his or her thoughts about it on a public page. And I think that I am not very unique in my desire to have more text to get to know people better :) Wikipedians tend to read people (literally speaking) --アンタナナ 02:15, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
- P.S. I do not have intentions to make you answer the questions you do not want to answer, I just want to know your opinion before you are elected as a Trustee. Even if you think that some questions are out of scope or not relevant. Thank you :) --アンタナナ 02:15, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
- Hello, thank you for your care.
- Sorry, I am on the way to LA. I'll answer as soon as possible.--SusikMkr (talk) 04:55, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for participating in Learning Day, Wikimedia Conference 2016
edit
Through June, we’re organizing an Inspire Campaign to encourage and support new ideas focusing on addressing harassment toward Wikimedia contributors. The 2015 Harassment Survey has shown evidence that harassment in various forms - name calling, threats, discrimination, stalking, and impersonation, among others - is pervasive. Available methods and systems to deal with harassment are also considered to be ineffective. These behaviors are clearly harmful, and in addition, many individuals who experience or witness harassment participate less in Wikimedia projects or stop contributing entirely.
Proposals in any language are welcome during the campaign - research projects, technical solutions, community organizing and outreach initiatives, or something completely new! Funding is available from the Wikimedia Foundation for projects that need financial support. Constructive feedback on ideas is appreciated, and collaboration is encouraged - your skills and experience may help bring someone else’s project to life. Join us at the Inspire Campaign so that we can work together to develop ideas around this important and difficult issue. With thanks,

WMCON: Invitation to lead partnerships related sessions with the Wikimedia Foundation
editHi,
The Partnerships and Global Reach team from the Wikimedia Foundation will be hosting few sessions during Wikimedia Conference 2017 in Berlin.
Session 1: Increasing awareness of Wikipedia: How to forge strategic partnerships to achieve this goal?
Session 2: Partnerships Clinic: Warning signs and how to deal with them
Session 3: Sharing talks: Awareness / Reading
We'd like to invite you to join us in planning, leading and participating in any or all of these sessions. It would be great to have a diverse set of experiences and insights as we guide the audience to the goal of the session. Particularly, we want the session participants to have the following outcomes:
They walk away with concrete ideas on how they can raise awareness in their country through partnerships and how they can find such partners. They will recognize when a partnership is in trouble, learn how to address it during program design, and be aware of exit strategies to deal with such situations. They will have good examples and motivation to replicate success stories in their local contexts.
Would you like to join us? We will be happy to chat with you anytime this week to quickly coordinate how we can be working together. Please let us know as soon as possible. Let me know if you have any questions. You can reach me at rayyakkannu wikimedia.org
Thanks, Ravishankar Ayyakkannu, Manager, Strategic Partnerships, Asia, Wikimedia Foundation. --22:30, 23 March 2017 (UTC)

Universal Code of Conduct Enforcement Guidelines: A gentle reminder to cast your vote
editLittle under 3 days left until the end of the ratification voting process for the revised enforcement guidelines of the Universal Code of Conduct (UCoC).
Voting commenced on SecurePoll on 7 March 2022 and will conclude on 21 March 2022 at 24:59:59 (check your local timezone). Please read more on the voter information and eligibility details.
The Universal Code of Conduct (UCoC) provides a baseline of acceptable behavior for the entire movement. The revised enforcement guidelines were published 24 January 2022 as a proposed way to apply the policy across the movement. You can read more about the UCoC project.
As of 19 March 14:50 UTC, there are 1702 voters. According to the current records no one from the Armenian speaking community took part in the voting.
Diversity and equity matter. It is, therefore, equally important that the voices of your community are adequately heard. That is another reason to visit the SecurePoll page and submit your vote. The poll can be accessed locally here.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. Thank you.
