A collaboration with WWF Armenia
editThe Wikimedia Armenia team led by President Susanna Mkrtchyan left for Vayots Dzor Region on February 23 within the framework of cooperation with the WWF Armenia (World Wide Fund) staff. In particular, a visit was made to the office of the Arpa protected area, then to Noravank gorge, where it was possible to observe bezoar goats (wild goats) through binoculars and cameras. These animals are on the verge of extinction and are registered in the Red Book. Within the framework of the cooperation, WWF Armenia covers all the expenses.
In addition, within the framework of the "Wiki Loves Earth" project, the WWF uploads photos of rare animals to Wikimedia Commons. An agreement was reached on the continuation of cooperation between WWF Armenia and Wikimedia Armenia.
Collaboration with "Aregnazan" Educational Complex
editWithin the framework of cooperation with “Aregnazan” Educational Complex, the 8th grade students of the educational complex, led by their class teacher, visited the Wikimedia Armenia office. The President of Wikimedia Armenia Susanna Mkrtchyan presented Wikipedia, the activities of Wikimedia Armenia and all the features of Wikimedia movement. Wikimedia Armenia Event Coordinator Davit Sargsyan presented WMAM events, the popular Wikicamps, the procedure and opportunities for participation. 30 teenagers took part in the meeting. All the precautionary rules of the COVID-19 were followed during the whole meeting.

editThis month Wikimedia Armenia has submitted one article in the Educational Newsletter of Wikimedia Foundation. The article “Karvachar Wikiclub continues its activities online” prepared by coordinator Tamara Grigoryan from Karvachar WikiClub represents the situation of the Karvachar Wikiclub and its activities after the war.
"Ankyun+3" TV company has prepared a short reportage on the Alaverdi Wikiclub and its successes.
WikiClubs' report
editDuring the month of February, the Wikiclubs continued their work, carrying out numerous intra-club events. The clubs worked both offline and online.
In order to make the editing process more enjoyable and useful, Koghb Wikiclub conducted an intellectual game-competition, the purpose of which was to develop the participants’ team working skills.
Karvachar Wikiclub continued its work (translations from English to Russian) during the month; they created new articles in the Armenian Wikipedia. On February 19, the club members celebrated the Book Donation Day (Hovhannes Tumanyan's birthday) by organizing various events. The Karvachar Wikiclub organized an online event during which the club members read and discussed William Saroyan's story "The Armenian and the Armenian". In February, an article about the activities of the Karvachar Wikiclub was published on the Wikimedia Foundation's educational blog.
Lernapat Wikiclub organized an edit-a-thon dedicated to books and literary works which started on 12 February (a total of about 30 articles have been created) and was summed up on February 19. During the editorial, a team competition was held, during which the emphasis was put on the knowledge of the participants' editing skills, and in particular, the knowledge of the tools of wikification. A quiz on books was held at the club that day, and the members of the winning team received books. The members of the club also donated books to each other. An edit-a-thon dedicated to the Holiday of Love was held at the Lernapat Wikiclub on February 8-14, during which 15 articles were created in the Armenian Wikipedia.
The Alaverdi Wikiclub members had organized a discussion of the well-known "Gikor" movie. A reportage about the success of Alaverdi Wikiclub was prepared by "Ankyun+3" TV company.
The participants of Hatsik Wikiclub were hosted at Shirak Regional Library on the Book Donation Day. The members of the Writers' Union of Shirak region, headed by the Executive Secretary of the union Andranik Karapetyan, were present at the meeting; the director of the library, Gevorg Amiryan, was also present. The Club members who love Tumanyan, presented his life, social and political activities through a small but meaningful event, talked about his creative activities, recited the event and summed up the event with Tumanyan's quatrains for almost 10 minutes, receiving warm words and praise from those present. The members of the club also presented to the attendees the activities of the Wikiclub and what they are usually doing in the club.
