Request renaming or speedily closing a request for comment intended for defamation
Would any disinterested administrator speedily close or rename this RfC? This is an extremely serious personal attack in violation of Meta:Civility.--Jusjih (talk) 19:28, 11 September 2021 (UTC)
- Jusjih: Alleging abuse of administrative rights while providing links and making a case is not in and of itself a personal attack. It is also pertinent to note that threatening editors for opening an RfC about you is not appropriate conduct for a Meta-Wiki administrator. Please try to remain calm and objective while processes like these are going on. Best, Vermont (talk) 20:48, 11 September 2021 (UTC)
- Vermont's comments are true, though I doubt that it should be at Metawiki, this is a local issue for zhWS and has no global implications, and is between administrators. Having this discussed in English here is just problematic. I have asked for it to be moved back to zhWS, then we should be able to close it out. — billinghurst sDrewth 23:19, 11 September 2021 (UTC)
- Then please also ask Zhxy 519 to try to remain calm and objective, or he should be blocked here for disruption. Please note how Zhxy 519 retaliated while he would face de-admimship [1] and why the RfC has excessively biased title [2]. See also a new RFC to tighten Requests for comment/Policy.--Jusjih (talk) 19:43, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Jusjih regarding the first diff, Zhxy 519 does make a valid point, and for the second diff also there was no good reason to move the RfC. Given there may be language barriers, please AGF. SHB2000 (talk | contibs) 23:21, 13 September 2021 (UTC)
- Will not close here as it might not be good for me to close zh related issues, but to be honest, I don't see anything actionable here. I really can't see any clear policy violations on any party that is to that extent that sanctions are applicable till now. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 08:15, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
- @SHB2000: I disagree that Zhxy 519 made a valid point while I see systematic violations of Meta:Civility. He keeps retaliating against being proposed for de-adminship on Chinese Wikisource. I would like to request these acts:

- Revert User:Zhxy 519's renaming [3] for continuous defamation, back to Requests for comment/Recent problem in zh.wikisource.
- Leave no redirect of excessive abusive titles. Salt them.--Jusjih (talk) 18:37, 26 September 2021 (UTC)
- Jusjih: The RFC that you started indicated that a user's name can have purpose in the title, so I am do not feel that the neutral page name you specify is justified. Your commentary in this whole thread is problematic, and I think that you need to take some time to reflect. You even asked this person to be blocked. I mean, what is that? Be open to criticism and improvement, that it has escalated like it has should give you time to look inward, not lash outward. We can all improve the way that we wield the mop. — billinghurst sDrewth 23:31, 26 September 2021 (UTC)
- Jusjih, re the ping, "I disagree that Zhxy 519 made a valid point while I see systematic violations of Meta:Civility.", what??? I see no violations of Meta:Civility here, and there's been many cases much worse than that of which you're describing.
- Might as well answer to "Revert User:Zhxy 519's renaming", you mean, the title was renamed by someone who didn't even bother asking nor even leave a courtesy message to Zhxy 519, hence why I proposed to rename the title back to the original one. And to Leave no redirect of excessive abusive titles. That only breaks links. SHB2000 (talk | contibs) 07:21, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
- Hi,Jusjih “deny having asked for one” Office Action[4], but in zh.wikisource, Liuxinyu970226 claimed that after confirming with Ms. Maggie Dennis, WMF office has received Jusjih's request for Office Action against me. [5]. If this is true, I have to say what a liar and I can't imagine what will Jusjih do against other people secretly, even with ridiculous reasons.--Zhxy 519 (talk) 19:30, 30 September 2021 (UTC)

- About the RFC that contested by both zh.wikisource administrators above, I saw that the creator is moved again to include "Jusjih" on the title, and said "has been found acting disruptive and abusive behaviours for years on many of those projects", however except zh.wikisource, I saw nothing other than L3 titles (Chinese Wikiquote, Chinese Wiktionary, Meta-Wiki and Other wikis), and unfortunatelly that RFC is closed as can be locally handled, but now what are the problems regarding Jusjih on other wikis? --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 04:53, 1 October 2021 (UTC)
- Jusjih problems on other wikis: If meta counts as one, then yes, for not knowing meta wiki deletion policies as well as what gets an RfC and what doesn't. I'm sure there's problems on other wikis as well, but Rschen7754 would know more about that than I would. SHB2000 (talk | contibs) 05:14, 1 October 2021 (UTC)
- Just don't know one deletion rationale doesn't make sense on the potential de-sysop, it may be sense if they repeatly abusing IAR on deletion requests. Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 09:14, 1 October 2021 (UTC)

Closing this as the subsequent detail does not belong here in the form that it is taking, it is not about the editors actions on this wiki. Wikis are self-governing communities and the above "he said, she said" statements above are clear evidence of why wikis are meant to fix up their issues. — billinghurst sDrewth 23:57, 1 October 2021 (UTC)
Request to bring Visual Editing features of @enwiki to @kmwiki
Hi, I'm seeking the Visual Editing features of the English Wikipedia to be implemented in Khmer Wikipedia, especially the auto citation generation of the Cite feature by a click of inserting URL. Currently, the editing tool is lacking features and is difficult to use even for an experienced user. Please guide me if this is the right place to post for help. --Snsqr (talk) 14:37, 1 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Snsqr: kmwiki has admins and bureaucrats - the later of which can promote interface administrators. Some of these features sound like local gadgets, which would need to be localized for your project - and possibly other parts are software features that would require a phabricator ticket. In either event, the meta-wiki admins would have nothing to do with this. I suggest your project discuss what you want to change, who will do it, and importantly - how you support your customization going forward, perhaps at w:km:វិគីភីឌា:ផតថលសហគមន៍. You may also want to seek input at Global sysops/Requests. Best regards, — xaosflux Talk 15:34, 1 October 2021 (UTC)
- For auto-reference, the tool is Citoid. First, you have to configure TemplateData for your citation templates (Khmer equivalents for {Citation}, {Cite web}, {Cite journal}…), especially ["maps"]["citoid"] map. Then, an interface admin has to create km:MediaWiki:Citoid-template-type-map.json (use English Wikipedia one as a template).
- You can read more documentation.
- Hope that helps. -- Pols12 (talk) 21:02, 1 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Xaosflux:
- Thanks for your guidance. I would post to w:km:វិគីភីឌា:ផតថលសហគមន៍ for attention. I thought it's a system-wide feature (I saw the implementation of the new Visual Editor in 2016 here https://km.wikipedia.org/wiki/វិគីភីឌា:ផតថលសហគមន៍#The_visual_editor_is_now_active_here), but I may be wrong.
- @Pols12:
- Thank you, this is exactly what I'm looking for. At @kmwiki, we lack experienced users/admins to implement the interface, and the admins assigned are inactive (though there is one temporary admin currently). I have a look at your links, but it is too complicated for me. Could you explain further in detail steps if possible, whether we can duplicate all the necessary templates of the current En wiki to Km wiki? How about the mapping process? I understand km:MediaWiki:Citoid-template-type-map.json can be created by copying the English Wikipedia one. The citation tools @kmwiki such as {Cite web} seem not work well, so if we can bring in the features first, we can later translate the required fields as necessary.
- --Snsqr (talk) 02:52, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
- I imported the TemplateDatas and MediaWiki json from other wikis to kmwiki, but there appears to be errors in the w:km:Module:Citation/CS1/Utilities everytime I try to use the tool. --Trezoo (talk) 02:39, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
- You don’t especially need complex templates like {en:cite web} which use Lua modules. If your community does not have enough technical skills to maintain these templates and modules, I think you should not import and use them.
- Do you have other templates you use to cite references? What are the current habits? Citoid can’t write text without template, but it can use any template. -- Pols12 (talk) 13:30, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
- The {Cite web}, for example, has been imported to kmwiki long ago, and all I did was imported the Citoid map. I also don’t know how to create a new template with less complexity. --Trezoo (talk) 23:12, 3 October 2021 (UTC)

rfd for user page @Hitzeed Ch Reborn

- @Azmi1995: I see you linked to RfD, but didn't open an RFD (Meta:Requests for deletion) - are you having a problem opening an RFD discussion? — xaosflux Talk 15:47, 5 October 2021 (UTC)
- Initially I planned sending a request here before writing a message there. It then turned out that Veracious changed the page on 07:15 then Martin Urbanec set the global lock on 07:24. So, technically, I can say that the request has been done Azmi1995 17:22, 5 October 2021 (UTC)
- To be honest, I don't think the retired tag suits this case either. As it's most likely locked global account template, but then I personally don't advocate tagging. Let me just revert to an non-offending edition of the page and I think we can do with it. I don't see any very gross attacks but since there is local concern, let's just revert to a previous position which might be the most suitable in this case. Remove protection
Protection of Steward requests/Global permissions impedes new users' applications. Butcher2021 (talk) 16:51, 6 October 2021 (UTC)
- Not done that page has had significant vandalism and almost all posts to it that are actionable come from existing users. If you really want to go over this again, I'll punt to the stewards and you can bring it up at Stewards' noticeboard. — xaosflux Talk 01:05, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Xaosflux
- "almost all posts to it that are actionable come from existing users"
- This claim is wrong.
- For example, you can count how many users in Steward_requests/Global_permissions/2021-09#Requests_for_global_IP_block_exemption were not autoconfirmed when they applied.
- I was exactly affected and till now my application has been blindly reverted many times and still ignored. Butcher2021 (talk) 07:30, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Butcher2021: as I noted, please bring this up at SN - if the stewards want their workpage unprotected they can. Optionally, the directions could just be made better - for example if your post to the talk page were clear they were an edit request (such as if you used this edit request dialog) they should have been better handled. — xaosflux Talk 09:36, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
- SRP was recently unprotected; maybe the same can happen at SRGP if disruption stays at a low level. Closing this here for now. ~~~~

Request to edit fully protected page Legal/Legal Policies
Also tagging Billinghurst as the last protecting admin. Though I'm WMF staff, I do not have (or believe I qualify for) the advanced "staff" userright, so I'm currently unable to edit Legal/Legal Policies, as it is fully protected. I would like to make an update to the page on behalf of the Legal team. Would I either be able to have the page temporarily semi-protected instead of full-protected, or provide the text of the update to an administrator? Thank you! To merge versions
Good day!
Description:
This edition
cancels the revision I made to the RFC I created. I set anchors without editing someone else's text to be able to link to
from my reply
As a result of edition (1), links (2) and (3) were broken, which were already used to address replicas on external resources and are now invalid too.
I am asking for help:
- Since I do not object to the possibility of parallel existence of both structures, therefore I ask to restore my version of the discussion structure by merging the current version of the article with the state before the edition (1).
- I also ask on behalf of the administration to inform the opponent that when addressing, addressing my remarks and in other cases, that I ask to adhere to the use of my name in the form "Va", that is, as I indicate in the signature and as it was in the version, which was removed by revision (1).
- I also ask you to pay attention to possible interference in the text of some persons by other persons, which may at least be unethical.
Thank you in advance.

Should Leonardo José Raimundo be autopatrolled?
I presume anyone who has made an edit to SRG would have been thank bombed by this user and looking at the thank log, it seems this has been going on for some time now. Given the autopatroller
right is only for trusted users, it's quite obvious that this user is not and was wondering if any sysop could remove their AP status. SHB2000 (talk | contibs) 12:28, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

- @Sotiale: Thanks :) SHB2000 (talk | contibs) 12:39, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- Erm...while I don't contest the autopatrol removal as mass thanking is nuisance and can be deemed within the margin of admin discretion to yank the right, but how does removing autopatrol solve the issue of mass thanking? If they are warned enough, they need more sanctions IMO. We don't have a partial block for thanking though. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 12:45, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- It doesn't – but I do hope Leonardo learns off it. They were warned in August, and yet they still mass thanked users. But I don't think even blocking prevents thanking users but I'm not sure. SHB2000 (talk | contibs) 12:49, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- Good question, I am thinking can we do a partial block w/o any parameters set in to see does it prevent thanking. I guess I had to test on someone. Let me try. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 12:51, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- A full block does indeed prevent thanking, if this persist, we can have that option. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 12:56, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

- After reviewing, I indeed missed 6 pages which are now fixed (I created missing redirects).
- For these 3 pages, translations have not been copied but created by a null-edit. This is not an ideal solution to keep attribution, but this is much more simple from a technical point of view. Attribution are kept in Translations: namespace. -- Pols12 (talk) 17:22, 28 October 2021 (UTC)

Are meta pages meant to serve as incubator pages?
The title says most of what I'm going to say, but I stumbled across pages like Wiki Bíblia/Gênesis and random Bible verses in Brazilian Portuguese created by Leonardo José Raimundo. Do meta pages serve as incubator pages until such projects are accepted in the incubator? I've never seen this kind of material on meta before, but I don't exactly know how these work so don't know. SHB2000 (talk | contibs) 10:44, 29 October 2021 (UTC)
- @SHB2000 Clearly incubator pages needs to be transwiki there, let me @Sotiale and Minorax: for advice. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 12:48, 29 October 2021 (UTC)
- AFAIK, for a page to be considered "in scope" in incubator, it has to be an approved project (wp, wikt, ...) and of a approved language. The above page is not an approved project and is considered out of scope there. @MF-Warburg: should be able to clarify on this. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 12:57, 29 October 2021 (UTC)
- If that's actually the Bible, it may not be appropriate to import it into incubatorwiki. mulws acts as an incubator for Wikisource. Before that.. it is appropriate for page imports to be done according to the user's request. Previously imported pages proceeded as requested. --Sotiale (talk) 13:09, 29 October 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you @Minorax@Sotiale for replies, understood that it might not be in scope for incubator. But IMHO is also out scope here, delete? Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 13:12, 29 October 2021 (UTC)
- It'll be better if the deletion is raised at RfD. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 13:14, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

Request for MassMessage senders
Hello there, I would like to request for MassMessage senders status for the following accounts: Athikhun.suw and Karto1. This is to have a channel to promote Wiki Science Competition 2021 in Thailand, particularly to previous participants from Wiki Science Competition 2017 in Thailand, via Special:MassMessage. Thank you in advance for considering. --Karto1 (talk) 04:40, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Karto1 Hello, can I have a sample MMS message and the list of recipients. And how long shall we grant? Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 12:49, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Camouflaged Mirage The sample MMS message can be seen here Talk:WSC 2021-TH/MMS, and the list of recipients is here WSC 2021-TH/MMS. We would like to ask for the status for at least 3 months starting in November 2021. --Karto1 (talk) 07:36, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Karto1 Am I right is all to be delivered to commons userpages? Since is 1 wiki, is there any chance to ask at COM:AN for MMS help. Anyway, I will defer to another sysop to grant as I am not too sure of commons MMS policies. There are plenty of meta sysops who are also commons sysops, so won't be too long for this to be reviewed. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 08:07, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
- I have asked on COM:AN, so the message has been sent on our behalf and should be all good. Still, I would like to wait for whether or not the status can be granted, namely for Athikhun.suw as he is the chair of WMTH. If that is not possible, we can request for any future messages to be sent on our behalf on the commons boards again. --Karto1 (talk) 11:13, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

- I sent the message on Commons per c:Commons:Administrators' noticeboard#Request for MassMessage for delivering to Commons. I believe Meta should not involve itself in such matters. Thanks 4nn1l2 (talk) 11:13, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
- Since there is opposition by local project for meta involvement, sorry @Karto1 I cannot grant the right here as we respect each project rules when granting rights which will have crosswiki impact. Thanks @4nn1l2 for the inputs, much appreciated. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 11:47, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
- I understand; thank you Camouflaged Mirage for the replies and 4nn1l2 again for sending the message on our behalf. --Karto1 (talk) 10:01, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
- So closing as Not done but should you need the right to send elsewhere on multiple projects, do request again here for consideration. We will take it case by case. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 10:02, 31 October 2021 (UTC)

- @Jeff G. and MdsShakil: I looked at the page. It is not exactly "the best" that the Wikimedia community has to offer, but I fail to see how this is spam. Mysterymanblue 02:28, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
- MdsShakil, I didn't get one thing. If you consider this spam, then why have you joined the user group. --Hulged (talk) 04:09, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Hulged I didn't say it was spam. Obviously it can't be spam -- MdsShakil (talk) 05:32, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure MdsShakil was being sarcastic there. SHB2000 (talk | contibs) 06:11, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
- Erm...@Jeff G. Can you explain in clearer terms why the page is spam? If it's sensitive, feel free to email me if needed. This isn't clear and if the page isn't spam the user shouldn't be warned / blocked. Thanks so much. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 09:52, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Camouflaged Mirage: The primary purpose of the page appears to be driving traffic to the group's Telegram, Facebook, and Instagram pages, two of which glorify shitposting by name. Shitposting on WMF projects is abusive, as is glorification and promotion of it. -- Jeff G. ツ (please ping or talk to me) 12:52, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Jeff G. Thank you for the reply. Seeing there are some oppositions here, might wish to refer to RFD as CSD can only be applied when there isn't opposition. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 12:56, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
- In my opinion, it should probably be just tagged with the humour template. SHB2000 (talk | contribs) 07:05, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

Not done; please refrain from making frivolous (block?) requests against users that have 50.000+ edits globally and are editing in good faith, when an RFD against the one page you don't like is sufficient. --MF-W 16:13, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

Template documentation Lua broken
It looks {{documentation}}
and/or Module:Documentation is broken. Can someone with Lua knowledge please help fix it? CC to @GeneralNotability. Thanks. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 10:17, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
- This is an unbreak now, so I have rolled back a couple of versions to have something working. Someone can fix it in the sandbox. — billinghurst sDrewth 10:45, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you Billinghurst, that was a screwup on my part - today I've learned that I should not be using the "import templates" button during xwiki import unless I really know what's going to get imported. Sorry about that, folks. GeneralNotability (talk) 15:02, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
- For import, never click that checkbox unless absolutely clear, it does override existing local templates which makes the history convoluted and it will mess up existing templates. The history of this template now seems like what a page history looks like when a histmerge is done on 2 pages with parallel histories. Mind I temporary delete and restore to keep the clean version? Well not to blame @GeneralNotability, import isn't easy work to do, I learned the hard way at zh too. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 09:50, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
- Camouflaged Mirage, please do. GeneralNotability (talk) 13:15, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
- I need a couple of seconds at least, on second thoughts those few seconds might break something, I think let's leave it as it is. Ignore my not well thought of suggestion, sorry. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 13:26, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
