Radouch

edit

You wrote you like to understand Radouch's behaviour. It's now more than a year struggle. Some English remarks are here: User:V. Z./My defence. -- V. Z. 16:26, 3 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

His explanation triggered my curiousity; I know nothing of anyone's behaviour, and thus can't understand it… Jon Harald Søby 16:33, 3 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

It is very complicated issue – something like Waerth case. Unfortunaly most materials are only in Czech, except for Requests for comments/Cswiki issues and Requests for comments/Cswiki issues 2. -- V. Z. 09:35, 6 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

@Jon: I think I cannot agree with V. Z. that it is very complicated issue: it seems quite plain to me. I wrote a short statement here - maybe it will satisfy your curiosity :-) --Radouch 21:11, 7 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Checkuser

edit

Hi, I translate the following request made in my talk page in Spanish. As it's a request for checkuser at the Spanish Wikipedia, I shall not process it myself. Could you please handle this. --Ascánder 20:34, 18 February 2006 (UTC) Translation: User es:Usuario:Maldoror request an IP check of an anonymous user because of a flame war against user McFinnigan on pages Irlanda and Donegal. es:Usuario:Edub has blocked users es:Usuario:Seanver and es:Usuario:Blisz. And here is a discussion about it: Aquí. The IP user is 80.34.52.128, and because of it's behavior, it seems to be one of the previously mentioned blocked users. Maldoror 17:48, 18 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I'll look into it. What should I do if the IP matches any of the users? (And what if it doesn't?) Jon Harald Søby 20:37, 18 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Just answer the question to Maldoror and also probably to es:Usuario:Edub which is a sysop. They'll take from there. --Ascánder 20:50, 18 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

The 6800 edit rule

edit

Hello,

A few days ago you changed the 5000 limit to 6800 [1]. A user asked a question about that on Talk:Right to vanish. I wish I could give the answer myself, but I have to say I have no clue about this. I'd be glad if you would provide some explanation. Theo F 12:37, 14 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's now up to 20 000! (That means, if it keeps rising, I can finally change my name on w:no: from Jhs to Jon Harald Søby!) Jon Harald Søby 19:27, 14 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
OK Thanks. Theo F 14:29, 17 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sysop-status removed

edit

Hej. Jag vill ha min sysop-status borttagen, kan du hjälpa mig med det?
Hi. I want my sysop-status to be removed, can you help me with that? (same username on sv:wp) Chrizz 07:00, 18 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Norman articles

edit

The Norman wikipedia is now active; and since the Test-wiki articles are only temporary, I'm transferring them across. Hope that's OK. Man vyi

Thanks - at the moment I'm finding it convenient to blank so it's more obvious which articles have been copied over already. Man vyi
Okay, I understand. Jon Harald Søby 16:08, 25 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

European Union

edit

Hi Jon - why do you think this is a speedy? It is a linked from another meta page (which now has an extra red link in it :P), Maps - so I'm unsure if you want to delete just that one or Maps recursively...

WhiteNight T | @ | C 12:08, 26 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Because it has nothing to do with Meta whatsoever… Or does it? Jon Harald Søby 12:10, 26 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm not 100% sure myself, but it appears that Maps is meta related and uses European Union as an sample map WhiteNight T | @ | C 12:14, 26 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I noticed that. But out of context European Union is worthless. It should be moved to Maps/European Union or something. Jon Harald Søby 12:15, 26 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Rmy Sysop

edit

Hi! I made the local page. I hope everything is OK now. Thank you, Desiphral 15:18, 26 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Good! Now, we should wait some time, about a week or so, to get community support. If no-one answers, you can only get temporary sysop status (to translate the interface adn delete eventual vandalism). Jon Harald Søby 16:55, 26 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
OK, let's wait, Desiphral 22:17, 26 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re:Uncategorized

edit

That's correct. By giving everything that doesn't have a category a category, we can then sift through it and deal with it in an easier manner. Linuxbeak 17:02, 26 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

RfC and thanks

edit

Hello, Jon, and thanks for your help on ruwiki concerning the CheckUser privileges. Could you do us a favor and inform other stewards about the RfC I have placed at Talk:Stewards#Personal information disclosure conflict in ruwiki promptly so that the coflict could be resolved? Thanks in advance whatever the answer. --ACrush ?!/© 12:30, 27 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

By the way, ru:User:Ornil and ru:User:Morpheios Melas have also been approved for checkusers (3 of 5 and 4 of 5 accordingly). ACrush ?!/© 13:16, 28 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

bn-wiki

edit

I created the relevant page for adminship request, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of editors even logging in. I mailed an admin there (one of two), but didn't get a response since yesterday. I've been an admin in en-wiki en:User:Ragib and have done extensive edits in Bangladesh-related topics (see en:User:Ragib/Contributions:Articles started by me. I am also editing and translating policy pages and interwikied content from en-wiki. Thanks. --Ragib 08:18, 28 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

One of the admins (Zaheen) responded positively to the RfA. Looking into the recent activity log in bn-wiki, I don't think anyone else is working on bn-wiki right now. Thanks. --Ragib 20:26, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

WELCOME TO URDU WIKIPEDIA

edit

My name is Afraz. I saw your message at urdu wikipedia. the page for non-urdu speakers is still unfinished, I will write some simple and short introduction about how to read uddu alphabets, so if you have time to come to urdu wikipedia again, let me know if you have any suggestion. Thanks. we will be in contact in future too. by the way whats your profession? I mean, whats your major in education ?

Hi, Afraz! Since I'm 17, and still at school, I don't exactly have a profession yet (except being a nearly full-time Wikimedian), but I'm hoping to become a translator. Cheers, Jon Harald Søby 21:00, 31 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
