Kinaray-a (krj) Wikipedia
editHej Jon Harald Søby! :-) I think that the interface message translations for the Kinaray-a (krj) Wikipedia would be sufficient at this point in time. Most of the interface message terms are technical and keeping it in English would be more practical. I reviewed the translated interface messages and would there be any faulty entries, I think it would be easy to edit... I think the project is ready for the next step...
Thanks a lot.
- In the Philippines, virtually every young person can speak English fluently; hence the fact that the interface is in English will not be of any disadvantage to them at all. Each Test-language ought to be decided subjectively rather than objectively with rigid rules or guidelines. The Philippines was governed by America for fifty years before achieving independence, therefore the majority of Filippinos can speak their mother tongue along with English. Thanks.

- Yes, it is true that virtually every young person can speak and read English. So are other culturally diverse countries such as India. However, there is a growing awareness in the use of the vernacular languages. Yes, it is also true that America did influenced the Philippines, however the Filipinos themselves speak a distinct form of English, Philippine English, compared to the American English. English is widely used in institutions such as schools, mainly as a medium of instruction. However, the vernacular languages still play an important role in day to day life of Filipinos - conversations, text messaging, forum posting, chat, etc. are still widely carried on using the various vernacular languages of the Philippines. Being an independent nation, the Philippines is advocating the use of the vernacular languages aside from the nation language (Filipino/Tagalog), as people associate and identify themselves more to their localities. As such, cultivating nationalism in the local level is essential in forming nationalism in the national level, especially in uniting the diverse Philippine ethno-linguistics. Gaining awareness of the local identity helps people to see further the similarities that they have with one another and thus, realizing that they belong and comprise to the constructed image of a Philippine Nation. (Spain colonized the Philippines for 330 years, before that no such Philippine Nation exist, there are only fragmented 'nations' of various ethno-linguistic groups.)
- With the noble contribution of Wikipedia, the FREE ENCYLOPEDIA, of contributing to the cultural welfare of the Karay-a people in mind, I believe that this project will be very useful and beneficial, especially to the thousands of Karay-a internet users around the world. - RonaldPanaligan

Especial contributions: Citadme, Pediaknowledge, and ÁWá, people aren't stupid, and see in spain the high treason of Drini
editThe high treason means treason against the honour with a cruel methode
All the people can see, and must see this reality: the suport of Citadme for Drini at the wikiquote candidatures and the murder or drini after this
The excellents Contributions of Citadme
The contributions of Pediaknowledge
The Contributions of ÁWá in Wikipedia
The excellents contributions of ÁWá in Wikiquote
In the name of thousands of people, we want the expulsion of Drini and javierme from Wikimedia, they can to participe after this with another usename.
You can see the support of Citadme and Pediaknowledge in the candidatures, but Drini used this for his autoproclamations like dictators in the world. I think must to have Justice in wikimedia for Drini's expulsion.
An especial and malicious contribution of Drini
The Real Academia de la lengua española says about the high treason:
traición. (Del lat. traditĭo, -ōnis).
|| a ~. loc. adv. Alevosamente, faltando a la lealtad o confianza.
RAE
El odio y la traición no tienen lugar alguno en wikimedia.
I would like to administer in the spanish wiki. Citadme, Pediaknowledge, and ÁWá are the same person.
You can see in commons my photograps with my name ÁWá, and I would like to have the desblock in wikipedia and wikiquote please, for pity's sake, compassion. of ÁWá.
We do not want Drini in wikipedia and wikiquote in spanish.
From Barcelona, Can You introduce my candidatura please? --Constance 06:13, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
- If you have autority for the ÁWá's desblock in Wikipedia and Wikiquote, we are waiting. --Constance 08:27, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

committee question
editIt would be appreciated if you could take a look at the section of Danny's questions, entitled whistleblower policy. It contains a few negative statements which are not, in fact, questions. The first is a complaint from User:WiseWoman in which the entire content is a rant about women's rights and equality, not a bit about danny's candidacy. The second is a complaint from GerardM demanding the withdrawal of Danny's candidacy, which does not contain a single question or a single inquistitive statement. I have struck the latter, but was reverted and told "I do not have the right" so I am bringing it up here. I believe that having the committee maintain the integrity of the candidate's question sections is critical to ensuring a fair election:While candidates may sling mud at each other, it is entirely unfair for people qualified to give endorsements (i.e. excluding the board) to sling mud at them on their article. The segments in question should be moved to Danny's talk page. Also, I believe some sort of statement at the top of each candidate's question page should be made stating "This page is for actual questions to the candidates, not commentary on their platform"
Copying to the other members of the committee. Thank you for your attention and time.Swatjester 15:03, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- (copied from my Talk): Swatjester, thank you for bringing your concerns to my attention. I'll speak with other members of the committee today so that we can come to an agreement on how to proceed. In the interim, please do not strike or otherwise changes comments from other users on the candidate pages. We appreciate your interest in the election. Philippe 16:35, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Revert of my self revert
editIf I see it correctly, I also removed the submissions list when I did the translation, while at the same time I noticed that what I had translated was basicly said just a paragraph earlier. Would you mind reverting it back (you can include my translation if you wish), because I think it should have the list at the end. Regard Sean Heron 22:05, 23 June 2007 (UTC) P.S. Welcome into lithuanian wiki book project
editThanks - I've obtained info from lithuanina wiki books project, were some baned by left wing NPOV administrators started to wright books texts (2 pieces) about antidemocratic practice and wiki rules followed by Lithuanian law ignoring (insultinh etc). Lithuanian is the most conservative and archaic indoeuropean language so pay your attention on it.
How do You say Arrow - we say strėlė. You have the chance to become the first lithuanian wiki book project...KING.
Akan Wikibooks
editThanks for registering there, Jon. I could do with an extra sysop to clean up the spam/vandalism that the wiki gets. I haven't been particularly active recently due to off-wiki issues, but I'll try to be more active when I have the time. --WiganRunnerEu 17:23, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
- I'm on the Akan Wikibooks as ak:b:User:SunStar Net - leave me a message there if you want. --WiganRunnerEu 17:24, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Hello Jon, thanks for your message! Yes, i've been in frequent contact with Delphine over the past few days. We are hoping that a PA state chapter will help to jumpstart a number of other state chapters as well, a domino effect that would be great for the organization!
There is going to be a philadelphia wikimeetup in the next few days, and we are going to use that as a start for an "advertising campaign" to get the chapter started. I'll let you know as things progress. --Whiteknight (meta) (Books) 20:53, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
ro#MediaWiki:Boardvote_redirecting
editHello. You missed adding Board_elections/2007/Interface_translation/diff/ro#MediaWiki:Boardvote_redirecting within the wiki used to vote. Also, the page title at w:ro:Special:Boardvote should be Alegeri pentru Consiliul de Administraţie al Wikimedia, and not the current Alegeri pentru consiliul de administraţie Wikimedia. Thanks. --Rebel 06:48, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hi. You are supposed to add Boardvote redirecting yourself, unless you don't have administrator status (I see you have, though). The other one is also local, which means you must fix it, at w:ro:MediaWiki:Boardvote. Jon Harald Søby 10:18, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
Cajun French Wikipedia
editHi. I was translating the Cajun French Wikipedia messages and I noticed that the date needs some kind of special coding or something, but I don't know how to get it the way that I need it. Unlike International French, Cajun French uses the word "de" in front of the month and "de" contracts to "d'" in front of a vowel, for example, "le 28 de juin" (the 26th of June) or "le 28 d'août" (the 28th of August). Currently it's set to appear as "le 28 juin" like International French. How do I change this? Can you change it for me? Thanks. JeanVoisin 20:52, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
