Problem with MediaWiki on Wikimedia sites

Kinyarwanda Wiktionary

Hi, I met with the Rwandan government ICT director two days ago in Kigali, to determine what kind of work I could do for them. One of the projects is to create a web-based glossary of translations between Kinyarwanda (Rwandan in English, code rw), English, and French. These are the 3 national languages. (E.g. signs appear in all 3, the banknotes have all 3, and so forth.)

I (of course) decided that the way to do this was with the rw wikt.

At present it has about 100 entries, a few users, none active. And some offensive IP-sourced junk entries.

I'd like to fix it; there will be a number of people that will be working on it; there is no on-line dictionary for Kinyarwanda. (There is at least one with a very strict copyright, and very dubious entries ;-).

How would I go about getting a sysop flag so I can clean out the (small amount of) junk and so on? As usual of course, one can do most anything as a user, but I really have to get rid of the offensive stuff before the Rwandan goverment looks at it! (oh, please answer on rw:wikt or en:wikt?) Marshallese Wikipedia

Hi Jon Harald. I recently noticed the Marshallese Wikipedia, and, while searching to see if the place has any admins, I noticed your username. The site seems to be suffering some from some vandalism, eg this. Whether you sysop yourself to go delete some pages or take another course of action is up to you, of course; I just wanted to bring it to your attention. (Coincedentally, Naconkantari is requesting sysop access for similar reasons on the Marshallese wiktionary, although they seem to have been hit by different vandals.) Requests for permissions

Jon -- would you be so good as to indicate on Requests for permissions when you have completed a request? A note as simple as ":{{done}} ~~~~" would be quite enough. Hiding revisions

Hi, could you as a Steward hide the 112 deleted revisions of the articles on the article w:eo:Listo de denaskaj esperantistoj. As you can read on its talk page, the page used to contain information that probably breaks privacy laws of a number of countries. The fact that administrators can still see the content might still break these privacy laws. So hiding the deleted revisions will ensure that no legal problems can arise. Dankon.
